I met Rachel True who plays Rochelle last year. She was cool and talked shit about how most of the cons didn't invite her, but the other girls.
Yo, That's so cool you met her! Wow, for real? That so shitty they left her out, she's literally a main character!
@@KittyKochan Mmhm. It was at Blerdcon the blackest con out there. I also wish they gave her an actual arc in the movie though like the rest if the girls. It actually made no sense why she was following behind the other two. The other two girls got what they wanted and were feeling themselves, but she felt bad when she saw the racist's hair fall out so why was she acting like that during the car scene? I'm pretty sure they were just filling a diversity checkbox when she deserved to be a full fleshed out like the others.
It’s true - the topic trended on Twitter! She discussed the role’s impact in the Shudder documentary Horror Noire. She also released a tarot deck and book.
I hope to attend blerdcon as soon as it gets safer. I’ve had several invites but I haven’t gone yet! It sounds awesome!
That is such bullshit that they didn't invite her! I get that Neve Campbell went on to have the biggest career out of the four, but if they literally invited them all but her, that's a really blatant slight. I loved Rachel True in Half & Half. She is a really funny actress, but obviously can do drama very well too. I wish she was cast more often.
@@s-wo8781 her character was actually supposed to have an eating disorder but they changed it up
I used to have the biggest crush on Fairuza Balk( Nancy) when this movie came out.
Omg lol she is a cutie, Nacy is goals ❤️
I still do
Me 2 😍
Still do and I'm 30 now lmao
Cant believe I have a crush on a woman about 30 years older than me....
Fun fact - The shop almost got torn down but Fairuza Balk bought the spot to keep it going. Thankfully it’s still running!
Also the lady who played the shopkeeper (Assumpta Serna) played Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz in the late 80s. If you’re curious about it, the film’s called Yo la peor de todas (I the worst of all). It’s really good!
$175k was actually a lot of money in the 90s and rent wasn't as astronomical as it is now.
I was curious about the house price thing so I googled a site. Dont know how good/accurate it was but it listed the average family house in LA as $181,000 in 1996. It's $695,000 in 2020.
Really makes you think how fucked up house prices spiraling have become
Thank you for curing my curiosity as well! I was so confused about that lol That's pretty interesting how much money that would've been in 2020 but honestly it makes a lot of sense ><
lol it really does, another reason why I wanna live in the 90s XD
It's because of the industry growth. Like the internet based companies that just exploded in the mid 2000. In the 90's it's few. So, the land value were low.
The jerk guy, his mate and Neve Campbell were all in SCREAM together as well. Such classical actors from the 90s
27:10 they got drunk on the power and she spoke out against them. We know Rochelle at least was starting to feel guilty about it and that by the time they were in the house she was starting to get scared but she was also too scared on Nancy to fight against her and as too drunk on the power to stop altogether. Same definitely goes for Bonnie, not sure if she ever felt guilty about it though. I think Nancy did genuinely care about her friends at first but it somehow at some point changed from 'we're friends, we'll look out for each other even when others won't' to 'I was their friend when no-one else would be, they owe me' (there's a deleted scene when Sarah is trying to talk sense to Bonnie and Rochelle and they seem to be listening but then Nancy comes along and reminds them that she was the only one who ever talked to them and accused them of leaving her 'like everyone else'. In any case, they misused their powers so they were stripped of them. Sarah could have killed them in the end but instead she used her powers to warn them, that doesn't count as a misuse of power, she should be fine.
I also had questions about the $175k inheritance. Even in the 90’s they couldn’t do all that with $175k. But the lawyer guy said that they were “benefits” so they are probably receiving $175k a year which would’ve been about 300k a year in the 90s. So it makes a little more sense now.
A car and apartment? 175k most definitely would cover those two things in the 90's...unless there were other big purchases I didn't see in the movie?
@@sarasparks1992How much do you think rent is on a roof top apartment in LA is?? California is one of the most expensive states to live in..even in the 90’s. That $175,000 would go so fast just paying the rent on the apartment. Let’s be generous and say that they bought the apartment/condo out right. That apartment would be at least $100,000 and I’m being very generous. So that would leave them $75,000 to live on because it didn’t seem like Nancy’s mom had a job. So if it this was a one time payment. They would be homeless within the year.
I was 8-18 in the 90s and it was the best time in my life. The 90s were awesome.
ahhh lucky! I bet, everything seemed so much simpler back then! I was still a baby during the 90s );
You can’t deny that the music from this movie is killer. I could vibe all day to this style of 90s music, and it’s the main reason why I like this movie. The music selection was great!
$175,000 in 1996 is equal to roughly $310,964.63 now, so i mean they had enough to rent it
If you are burned that badly I feel like it would hurt really bad because it's all scar tissue.
Lol girl, you are so funny. Another good witchy movie from the 90's is Practical Magic. If you haven't seen it you should check it out.
Haha aw thank you! 💕 I haven't seen that actually, I'll add it to the video list! 😊
@@KittyKochan But I would say watch it on your own time so you can enjoy and take it in. Like chill and watch.♡
(Oh on a totally unrelated note have you ever played Hollow Knight? Great video game).
I always thought that was a really emotionally sad movie.
Yes, it's true: the '90s were awesome.
This movie was such an iconic part of my childhood. I just did a zoom-type tarot class hosted by Rachel True and it was amazing.
Nice, its a great movie! she has tarot classes? that's sounds like so much fun! I'm jealous >
@@KittyKochan Yeah she just released her own tarot deck/guidebook
That moment where you have a whole conversation with your cat - mid-movie... I am here for this!
I've lived through the 80s and 90s. It was Phenomenal!!!!! This movie and Rachel True were inspirations for me that started me off as the practioner that I am today!!! A lot of people hated this movie but I Loved this Movie!!!! I watch this movie every year as my personal tradition since this movie inspired my Beginning .😘😘😘😘
This came out when I was 11. Still love this movie. It sits proudly on my DVD shelf.
Saw this movie when I was an 8th grader in Catholic school and went full Goth Witch freshman year of highschool in 1999 , The styles back then were just.. 🤌 (chef's kiss).
I was obsessed with Nancy’s character I was mad she went on a power trip and I always wanted to practice the stuff they were doing but my family is religious asf and I would get disowned 🥺💯
If I were you then I would disown my family, they sound toxic as fuck for not letting you practice your own beliefs and religion and that's not a good environment for anyone to grow up or live in.
Same my sisters freaked when they find out I was watching witch craft videos on CZcams and they were so angry they told my mom and they immediately told me I need to be delivered and send me to church then and I was sent to the Bush for a couple of months until I came back
@@killinglonliness88 Facts. If they chose the church over their child, its time to find a new family.
@@raysonh4896 😂😂😂 we must’ve had the same childhood
Even as a kid I realized Nancy and her mom would be broke again in no time flat.
I am not sure I believe the whole 3 times thing, but I do believe it comes back. I mostly just banish negative energy and have preformed some simple protection spells.
It depends on the context. If it always came back, no one would engage in evil behavior
This is one of my favorite movies and I love your choker necklace and lipstick a few things in this movie got to me on a personal level but this is one of my favorite movies of all time it is a part of my childhood
This is such a weird coincidence because I have never seen this movie either until I watched it last week. Honestly, I had a lot of low expectations for the movie. I thought it'd be really cliche 90s movie with a sort of "magic bad" type message but that's not what happened at all. I liked that it incorporated some real witchcraft elements to it (albeit a little dramatized) and more of a nuanced message about witchcraft. I thought Nancy's character was really well-written and had a great style. All in all, I really enjoyed the movie apart from a couple of scenes here and there. God, I am not looking forward to the remake...
Same! I didn't have much expectations either but it exceeded them. I'm glad I watched it, this was a good movie! I agree, Nacy is such a well written character, probably too well written for me haha and the acting was so great!
Yeah, I'm not a fan of them making a remake either ):
As someone who grew up in the nineties I can assure you that without this movie, we really wouldn't have the witch culture that is now everywhere on social media and so accepted. This movie spawned Charmed.
It's always weird listening to reviews with the current perspective talking about old movies or songs. What seems like "Tropes and clichés" in this age of reboots, remakes, and recycled unoriginal regurgitations were actually pretty rare in older movies.
Found your channel while searching. I enjoy your positivity!
Aw thank you so much! Glad to have you here! 😊😊
I love the "self proclaimed witch" thing, and then mentions husband is making dinner, 4 cats. LOL made me laugh. I subbed.
Lol the chaos that is my life 😂 Aw thank you!! 🥰
@@KittyKochan It's fine. I'm a Wizard or some kind of Sorcerer.
I watched this film like a year or two ago because of Skeet and Neve (yes I am a scream addict) but after watching the film I fell in love with the rest of the cast. They are all so god damn talented and I don’t regret watching this movie at all.
I always had a crush on skeet ulrich, not the character necessarily but he was just so fine! Like later on in 1996 he played billy in scream, another AMAZINGG movie
14:31 The other one I got was if you're gong to cast a love spell, make sure you know how strong it is BEFORE you cast it, because those can't really be undone
How do you cat a love spell and do they really work???
@@dokendoken7194 Don't know but I'm not sure if I want to know, if it's something I can't control
I'm gonna go on a limb and say, what did Sarah do to have her friends turn on her? Weeell, she was binding them, three girls who have been bullied and powerless and are finally in control of their circumstances and she's binding them, so basically trying to take their power away, I would be pissed too. That being said, yeah Nancy is going out of her way to punish those who wronged her in a horrible way (the guy in the beginning of the movie implies he slept with her, got an STD and then dumped her which I'm guessing is his MO with all the girls he sleeps with) and yeah Sara has all the reasons to be scared of her friends, but yeah, that's why they turn on her.
True, I didn't really think about that in the moment :O I was kinda blind sided by the 0 to 100 towards the end I forgot. You're right, Sarah did take advantage of their situations for sure and I can see how they'd be pissed about that. I agree, I feel like Nancy took things a little too far for sure. But in hindsight, no one is really innocent in this movie D;
I think she was only really binding Nancy though, not the other two. Nancy was warned that she was dealing with powerful stuff that could be dangerous and that she might not be ready for but she wouldn't listen. Some may say that she betrayed the coven first because she was doing too much and going too far and was risking their lives as well as civilian lives and was also risking exposing them.
It seems more like they turned on her for no reason when you watch the rest of the deleted scenes and find out that there's a scene where Sarah is tending to Bonnie's scars after we see Nancy tending to them, Sarah did something with sage and a few other herbs and it indicates that she healed the scars (and reminding us that she was the only natural born witch out of the four of them).
@@agenttheater5 i didn't know there are deleted scenes, will definitely look them up
That's one of my favorites movies ever! I watched a lot when I was young ♡♡
Nice!! I can see why, it's a great movie! ☺️
I really enjoyed your reaction to one of my all-time favorite movies!! First seen this when I was 6 and have loved it ever since.
aw thank you! It's a really good movie, I regret not watching sooner!
This review had me rolling!!! I'm literally in tears from laughing so hard! 😂😂😂
One of my favourite movies growing up. Loved the fashion and music.
Also your cat ❤❤
I recently rewatched this movie with my kids and I thought or said basically everything you did. Love it. Subbing cause duh. Also, watch the sequel, it's not bad. Much love from this Californian witch 💖
You not a shitty person! You just spoke the truth :) Love your channel and your style... Take good care of you. Big Hugs from France
I love this movie so much!
Love that movie, must've been about 21 when it came out, everything from the fashion, the soundtrack and the topic resonated with me also that suicidal tendencies institutionalized reference caught me totally off guard lol 😆
Ok I thought I was going to sub for the Muppet scream but then you literally started singing industrialized by senses fail and I know for sure I'm subbing.
"HES SORRY HES SORRY HES SORRY HES SORRY HES SORRY!" 😂 I love Fairuza so so much
I want to go back to the 80s and 90s as well, ie my child hood and teen years
I love that you said it’s because of boys like them that you didn’t go to public school-When the High School shown is clearly a private school
I also wanna live in 90's.
Most importantly. Where'd you get the cat pillow?
Wow you’ve never seen this movie that’s so dope you get to experience this for the first time! (3 years ago haha)
I almost bought that cat pillow yesterday haha 😂. Or at least a version of it.
The opening song: one of my faves. It is a cover of a Beetles track (who, also, were satanists)
Legit one of my fav 2 movies ever. So nostalgic... This should never have been remade... It's literally perfection!!
P.S. you are soooooo dope! Subscribing now!
Most people rent in Los Angeles 😉 plus the inflation is real. This movie is completely iconic and captured a moment in time perfectly. Every 90s girl (and lots of guys) was obsessed
I love the fact that she makes fun of the craft
When I met my first Coven we saw The Craft in the theater as a field trip 💖 The 90s were great for cringe. If you haven't been blessed by listening to 90s Pagan rock, do yourself the favor 😂
The craft is about dark wicca I saw it as a teenager it's what got me into wicca before I knew what goth was
I really enjoyed your reaction. Keep it up. If you get the chance react to Mandy a drak acid fueled horror movie with Nic Cage at his best.
Thank you!! oh my god, yes lol all you had to say was nic cage!
"on Wednesday's we wear pink" 😂😂😂
Really enjoyed your reaction. Great job!
This is my favorite movie! Great reaction!
This was a fun reaction video. 🥰
Blessed Be
Perfect sample you should not mess with crap unless you get a tutor first. Neat we get a practitioners review, bet you can pick all the goofy mistakes. This should be interesting.
90s was awesome and your right things do add up still working on my altar
That scene made me jumps as well, when I watched it in the cinema back in 1996 lol
Subtitles usually only move around when there's other text on the screen so it won't overlap. It was because of the opening credits.
175k USD in 1995 are worth 350k USD today.
U deserve so much more hype
No coven in school? Well now you have thousands of viewers, I congratulate you.
I love your aesthetic. Your so gorgeous hun x ❤️
The Craft is one of the best movies on witchcraft I have ever seen!
Needles going through scar tissue hurts a lot more girl. Loved you reaction to this movie tho. Fists with Becky lol 😂
Loved this video
You’re so gorgeous! The Craft was a fun movie. I miss the 90’s
Thank you so much! ❤️ and yeah the 90s were the best, I need a time machine
OMG the kids in my Japanese class sounded the sameeee hahaha I was like c'mon now...anyway, I love this movie. I had a crush on Sarah
You where highly blessed never went to public school. Homeschooling is the way of educating a Child that’s conducive to Human Nature.
Great reaction. I really would like to know how to get that kind of power. :)
Have you seen Hocus Pocus from the 90’s? If not, that’s another I think you’d enjoy
Really like the movie 😊😊
I love this film.. Awesome reaction 💯 cute cat 👍🏾
Thank you so much!❤️
I watched this as a teenager and thought these girls were cool af. The older I get the more I laugh at myself because they are hilarious teenage edgelords it turns out
Its actually a private school
*Flashback to Beginners Japanese class*😂🤦🏽♀️kidding, most of us were otaku so our pronunciation was pretty good lmao
awesome goth /witch reaction - to the craft [1996] film !!!!
your hair looks perfect very tim burton in a very good way!
Aw thank you so much! 🥰
We are wearing Facemasks these times, so you'll be fine 😂
Great reaction 👍
Thank you!! 😊
I'm a witch I practice Wicca this movie inspired me I know I have other powers I'm psychic too but this movie inspire me to find out more that I not just like it just movie inspire me to do my which side to
its not the smiths og track, its the cover version by Love Spit Love, later used in charmed.
Ahhh this movie...a classic.
Small thing. This us nowhere near a public school. This is Catholic school 💯. That's why they were in mass. Also, Chris was put under a spell. It's a pretty big part of this movie.
Good review. Invigorating
Loved this movie
I loved this movie and they really need to make a true sequel with the original case, Including Fairuza Balk as Nancy Downs! Or let the original continue in a tv series for NETFLIX!
I think you look very glam Goth here and I'm for it
Witch who betray other witch from her own coven. The other witch would kill her is from Old Ardane or "The Craft" Law.
Fairuza Balk is 90s badass incarnate...
I don't know if you just said it backwards accidentally, but this movie does not take place at a public school. Public schools are never religious.
that last scene messed my up !!!
random comment but your hair looks beautiful here.
aw you're so sweet, thank you!!
90's where better. The world was not as ego back then. But now, it's all about hating everyone, cause of social engineers who want people to hate and invade eachother, in order to gain more control by solving these problem = centralisation of power = nwo advancing.
But apart from that, this movie is great (used to have a crush on Fairuza Balk in early 2000's lol). You should try, if you like this, the 90's series 'Charmed' (not the remake) but original with Alyssa Milano ect. It's just as good if not better as a whole (aspecially season 3-5)
I'm pretty sure that was a private catholic school
Yep.
Is it me or When the guy gets hit, at 7:10 does he lands the EXACT WAY they land in Family Guy whenever they fall down?
LOL right??
I haven't seen The Craft in years.
Hay ko, you have some awsome content, im a gothic witch too, i love the craft, i found it more informative of witchcraft and what its about not that accuate for its the typical Hollywood veiws of it and very christianized misinterpretation. Theres no female daity who they call upon to plus the three girls are abusing magic by using it as revenge. "By the power of 3 make them see, make them see" true wiccan law that.
KIBBERS :D
Haha all the kibbies! 😂
Did you ever go to school in Misawa Japan ? If not it’s all good you look like one of my high school friends there
