- No copyright infringement intended. I did this stretch about 8 years ago...not sure why I didn't post it. A most beautiful and one of my favorite songs...still brings a tear from it's beauty. Hope you enjoy.
Great song, popular toward the end of my tour in Vietnam. USMC. Coming home was one of the happiest days of my life. I'm almost 72 now.
I was born in '53 on the west side of Chicago. This is my favorite NC6 song from my favorite Chicago band. But take nothing away from the Buckinghams, Cryin' shames, Ides of March, American Breed and a bit later Chicago themselves. And listening to this on a small transistor radio from 'LS and 'CFL. I wanna go back in time. The sooner the better. Take meeeee......
In 2016, on Mothers Day I lost my other half to brain cancer, amidst searching for comfort I ran into this song, awesome to say the least! This song makes each passing day / year a special time, a appreciative time for me for what I and others have that they may take for granted... Be Happy for what you have! Its all about LIFE, not money:) Grrrr
One of the best songs towards the end of the 60's. Brings back memories of that time in my life. Vietnam was the next chapter in my life. I was one of the lucky ones to come home in one piece
Was born and 54 I was 15 and this one came out. I just heard it today for the first time again and today is March 19, 2024 beautiful day beautiful Melody I remember.❤
Mr. Geller, thank you for your service. When I was fortunate to make it back from the Guy War, we received a hero's welcome. You and your fellow soldiers did not. I'm sorry for this. However, you and I made it back home and we can thank God for this.
I tell my wife Ann there is a 20 year old inside this body. She laughs and says there hasn't been a 20 year old inside my for 56 years. Lol. Yup, im 76. Great somg, I remember it well. Don't ask me what I had for breakfast.
I'm 76 now. Years going by. My 9 grandkids are all growing up. Still a great New Colony 6 tune.
One of the things I'd like to have said was, I always thought this song was too short. Thanks for fixing that.
Bobvogel, I'm 76 and I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We pulled in WLS AM 89 just like it was a local station. My favorite DJ was Vic Diande.
Hearing this just now made me start crying.
Just heard this song for the first time in probably 55 years. Yesterday, Feb 20 was my 68th birthday. What a beautiful song. I'm a solid Thin Lizzy supporter now. Love what brought me to music so much. Songs like this. Strings are brilliant. Thank God for CZcams....🌻🏀
I'm crying now as I listen to this song what memories it brings back such a beautiful song one of my favorites
Chills still after all these years... man, the memories slay me!
A fine band from Chicago . love lasts forever proven by this song
This song is like 1970s soft rock made in the late 1960s. New Colony Six was way ahead of its time, which is a good thing. :)
Classic 60's ------there was never a decade like the 60's ! ---------------WolfSky9, 72 y/o
Memories...... 1969..... Sophomore year at Ware High School; Ware, Massachusetts... Damn... Why does time fly by so damn fast?
This song puts me back in junior high school in Buffalo New York.
This is now one of my favorite songs. I hear it over and over. I fell madly in love with it and its meaning. I love old classics more and more. Bless you.
