i yesterday randomly asked in a game comunity if someone is going to watch esc this year. and the only answers i got were if that is where joost klein is performing, and that they might because of him, but they also didnt knew which country he was representing x) so his efforts in meme making and going wild on advertising himself on various social media seems to work out, so this might get interesting and draw in a new audience ^-^

I am a Dutch-born American teacher and today I shared the background and the video clip with my middle school students, and they loved it!
Read somewhere that the AR and the visuals on screen combined tell Joost his story. Together with the sound of Joost and his energetic and charismatic self on stage + the emotional ending could get him some love from the viewers.
People in Balkans know about happy hardcore if they remember or know electronic music in the 90s. But happy hardcore was always club scene oriented genre and not a mainstream genre, even in the 90s with few exceptions of course.

Depends on his staging. He has a real chance to win a televote if the staging is a success.
His staging is the problem. We would have a change if we had a great staging, like Ireland suddenly appears to have. That's why Ireland has more change of winning than Joost. The Dutch staging really ruined our chances. 😮💨

I think that he can possible win if he beat Croatia in the televote and get like 5th place or highter in the jury. I mean I think that the televote jackpot will go to either the Netherlands or Croatia. Unlike last year there isn't a jury favourite so if everyone stays together with a marge of 7 points each and the jury winner get like 240 points the televote is the possible downfall of the jury winner and if The Netherlands or Croatia stay in the top 5 and hit the televote jackpot one of them will possible win.
He will 100% get a 12 televote from Belgium
It's also a vacation week in the Netherlands so a lot of people are in other country's☎️

my heart is broken
I have never been this curious for the Dutch staging. Usually we never have anything too outragious (not counting the organ or the native headdress, for which I am embarrased, that was so not ok). So as a Dutch person it is kind of cool we are talking about our staging as a possible tipping point in our favour for the televote. I'd be honoured to lose against some of the other heavy hitters but not gonna lie...this would be an amazing year to win ❤

I think it will be more exciting than the bookies predict. It's going to be a battle between Croatia, which I think has already shown the maximum. The Netherlands still has to play in the semi-finals, but the odds are still expected to grow a lot. I expect that the one from Croatia or the Netherlands that has the highest ranking among the jury will win the festival. In my opinion, there are too many songs that could all win the jury, so the gap to the televoting stars, Croatia and the Netherlands would not be very large. Rest assured that it will be very exciting!

And I think people are more tired of jurry favorites overriding televote. It gives sort of a Aristocracy overriding the pesnts. And if somebody does not like that its the European public.

This unfortunately doesn’t have realistic chances due to the sub 100 jury score incoming. It will be interesting to see if they can compete with Croatia in the televote; it’s also possible they don’t win the semi final if Switzerland wows
