Newcastle has always been S tier in my book. Sure all his abilities are cover, but it also involves movement and pushing enemies. Being able to go around opponents with the ult getting the advantage on them is very impactful when winning a fight. Also Newcastle tanks damage and has the passive that can move teammates to safety while getting them back up. Such a good legend! 🙌
A fun Newcastle tip is that the shape of his tactical shield lets you sit inside Bang and Gibby ults safely. The slight roof is has can completely block the ult projectiles as long as you tuck into the shield, and the enemy will usually be very confused about your positioning if you take no damage while sitting inside the AOE.
i tried it but gibby's ult landed everywhere around it, so i got hit a few times in that ult even trying pass across the shield to avoid the damage but another one landed on the other side too XD, i think it only works if you are like in a corner or something but in the middle of nowhere... too hard to avoid all
Dont know how many times ive faced levels but he has beamed me with the havoc every time. But judging from facing him, his ult is a great repositioning tool. Ult behind enemies to force them to split up or commit to a fight.
Been using Horizon in pubs and Newcastle in ranked. The ressing, the ability to craft banners and the versatility in the tac and the ult make Newcastle a great ranked pic imo
16:28 I SWEAR it sounds like he says Rush B instead of Low HP or maybe i played too much counter-strike with Russians. Also hilariously Newcastle calls him Comrade.
newcastle was always broken in my book. whole point of removing lifelines shield rez was to stop baiting while this guys can move while rez with a shield and a ability to also give u extra cover plus ult. maybe a different tactical bc baiting still happens with his shield not to mention throw down tac go for a rez with at least a blue knock and a whole 3 stack if focusing can’t get thru that, if they got thru the first shield u have more than enough time to make it to cover. in conclusion maybe not broken but he’s definitely a little too strong. a great newcastle player is a broken one.

Fire off the remainder of your ammo while hiding behind an enemy. Press the trigger again to reload. You may also want to check your game settings and set auto reload on empty.
btw i think the wraith wasnt cheating, at least in terms of aim, you just were a slow walking target easy to hit due to the large hitbox and lack of mobility in that moment, she even missed shots or at least didnt have the crosshair locked on you which doesnt tell you she is cheating instantly because everyones crosshairs dont lock on players neither. Ofc she might have wallhack but there is no true evidence, she just saw you and killed you, then you landed making a lot of sound over your position so its easy to spot you, and then you where behind the doors and enemies can see you. Anyway, i just dont agree to call cheater to someone that may have played better or had better luck in that moment than you, doesnt mean the player is better than you ofc, i always say that almost never you can say that someone is better than others, only those who have better movement and noticeble better aim can be better, but not because they laser some people in clips, etc. The character matter because of ability and hitbox, the weapons, the attachments, the position, the heals, you can fight against a proplayer using rampart and you can kill them easily because of her ult power and mostly her walls giving extra damage and tanking the damage you would take.
I have an unusual tip for castle, it doesnt always work to plan but it can. When your cracked and people push you and you have your mobile shield down, you can box them through it as they charge instead of you peaking through your shield and taking more damage. You knock them back behind it and their -30hp, its handier when you also have them low.
“Split fights up with your shield. You can take cover no matter where you are and take a 1v1. That’s one of the most important parts of newcastle.” (If you have a player behind you, and a player in front of you, use your shield to block off one and take the fight with the other.) “For ranked, his ult has a wattson like ability now” (Use castle wall lategame to stop people from pushing you. Set it up in smaller rings to quarantine off areas.) “Use wall to get out of situations or get to teammates.” (Use wall like a get-out-of-jail-free movement ability. Either to run or to get to teammates.) “Drop knock shield in an intense area.” (Dropping your knockdown shield makes your res silent on newcastle. Don’t do this if you have a gold knock unless absolutely necessary.)

Yes, it makes a specific “shield sound” with the knockdown shield applied. You can hear the res much clearer with it on.

Don't look directly at them, try to hit the reload button during a slide or crouching, or you can change your button layout to make it easier
