This wasn't a performance...this was five mates having a laugh and singing together in a recording studio. xD
Along with invaluable assistance from Mike Stevens (guitar & backing vocals) & Donovan Hepburn (drums). Both members of Take That's live band and touring members of Jeff Lynne's ELO. Mike is the musical director for both.
What separates TT from other boy bands is that the other bands are all trained in the same schools, so they all come out sounding the same.
TT are a bunch of mostly untrained singers who all sound completely different; but when they sing together it makes a magical sound that no other boy band can compete with.
Howard and Jason actually cannot sing at the beginning. The producer sign them because they dance skill.
@@wimpieyuwono2550 Howard could sing. His harmonies over Gary's leads are what define the TT vocal sound.
Jason got vocal training during the reunion era, because they wanted him to become more involved.

i love Mark's energy, and the fact he is always smiling (even when he's singing). i laughed when he took Robbie's glasses at 1:50
In my opinion this is the best version of the Flood. Simply amazing. Also, it's hilarious to watch how Jason and Howard are much less interested in goofing around than the other three.
Awesome performance. They have rare chemistry among themselves which is so good to see. They look like they are enjoying being with each other.

Bands like this give much more than good music, they remind you that true friends are a strong unity, no matter in which scenery they are singing as they are always together, feel great singing their songs.

2020. Back in 1994 I dreamt about moving to the UK, listened to Take That, learnt English thanks to them - and spoke in a Mancunian accent that gave chills to my teacher -, I was a young and unaware girl. Now I'm a grown up woman, a dance teacher, happily married to a wonderful musician, aware and filled with bitterness about the world around, and damn, Take That are still so great to me. Still make me feel good.
