A year ago my mom and I would watch Uniek and RS. She is no longer with us but I hold these memories close to my heart as I continue to see how much Risey has grown, but also to see how you are doing Yvonne. 💜May the Lord's healing continue through your body. 💜

It’s amazing that the tiny, scared, motherless foal brought to a grieving, confused Uniek is the same young stallion we see today. Just wonderful seeing him so grown up.
I remember him standing facing her after she accepted him that day. He wasn’t going to let her go. He stood there as if to say to her I’m your baby.

It is not meant as seriously, saying 'bullying', I think. More as a funny twist and catchy title or even a translation issue because she is not a native english speaker.
Yvonne is just being silly. But young stallions absolutely do bully. It is how they rise above the others to reach the top of the hierarchy. They don't draw straws or campaign for votes. They push each other around until one reaches victory and the others submit. These colts are young and are still at play and practice age. But the older they get the more serious about it they will become. 🧡🧡

Rising Star isn't bullying! His stallion instincts tell him to make sure all of the other horses know he is the top horse, just like his mother Queen Uniek!

Looks like the three boys are still trying to figure out who's the high horse. It's pretty clear, however, that poor Pieter is the low man, almost always being the one to be picked on. But RJ can't seem to get RS to yield to him, even though they rarely fight it out directly. I'll be very interested to see how their little bachelor herd turns out once they've finally come to a hierarchy.

So sad that Senna is gone...I know only too well how that feels...I've had quite a few over my lifetime, however it was the loss of my beautiful big Chocolate Labrador Hamish that I felt it most...I am delighted that you and 👑Uniek are up and training again...and Reintje still remembers all her training very well...I must say that Risey is quite determined to be the leader of his wee group...🐎

Yvonne, I am so sorry about Sanna. I hope that Stall G will get another dog for the stable. You are a miracle that you are able to ride, walk, drive etc again. Don’t push yourself too hard. I love every video. I love the horses but Rising Star we have watched since he was a few days old. He is so beautiful. Pieter and Rinse Janko are also beautiful. I am pleased they are good friends. I’m a little like Uniek as I have arthritis in my knees. When it’s very very cold here minus 20 degrees or more I am wonderful, but when it’s just around freezing my knees ache. . I keep coming back for the early videos of the still very fresh relationship between Uniek and Risy. And now, as he is quite the promising young stallion, it’s even more interst to follow them. Oh, how I love them all! Love you all, you at Staal G (? Correct name or?) An all you others, patienly follower of this channel. Thank you so very much for all the company, empathy - humor - and endless new things to learn about horses. Great channel to be emotionally invested in.
Those colts play hard!! I can see the difference in the movements of the Fresian colts and the movements of Rising Star. The legs and movements are suited to the different body types. I loved seeing them at play and the ladies taking the cart through the water!

I know riding was still tiring for you but you ride so beautifully even if you feel you are making mistakes. I had to put a my cat to sleep, it was the hardest thing I’ve done. I still miss her almost a year later. I suppose Rising Star and the young bucks are fighting for dominance. Your country is breathtakingly beautiful! It’s a joy to see it no matter the weather or season.

I thank God whenever I see you on a horse with a smile Yvonne! Thank you for the way you try to keep us all up to date on everything and everyone! I’ve had a head injury so I totally understand the exhaustion you are experiencing. It doesn’t make sense to those who see us from the outside with no apparent injury but it’s unbelievable how much energy it takes to process things inside an injured brain and how exhausted you can get just doing a normal activity. So I am very grateful for whatever videos we get because I know how exhausting it is to get executive tasks done. BTW, you still have an excellent riding seat! You still look ready for the dressage ring despite your head injury and the injuries to your body. And RIP dear Senna! Though I never petted your sleek fur or fed you a treat or got a lick in the face from you It feels like I’ve lost a dear friend because of all the videos shared about you by your Stal G friends.

You're getting so much stronger Yvonne. Have patience as brain injuries are much different than fractures. There's a lot more healing involved with rewiring, etc.
I'm surprised nobody has purchased a helmet for you yet ... but then perhaps you have to be able to go into a store to try them on!?! I honestly don't think it's good wearing that same helmet ... for several reasons.
Anyhow, you're riding ability even now, probably surpasses some, if not most of us watching. I think you're doing an amazing job Yvonne ... be kind to yourself and have Faith ... if you're meant to get back into riding as you had were before, it will happen. All in good time.
So sorry to hear about Sienna (I know there's a time lapse ... still very sad. I just lost my LGD day before Valentine's Day. He was about eight months shy of 10 yrs but due to recent medical condition he had to be euthanized. It's always sad when we have to make difficult decisions but it must be about the animal and not us. Sienna lived to 13 yrs and that's really good for that size/breed of a dog. She loves life when she was able and appears to have lived a good life.
So at what age will you geld a colt? Are you planning on leaving any of the boys as a stallion? I didn't realize that RS could be such a bully.
So is Uniek's osteoarthritis that bad? I assume the meds are to mask the pain? I didn't realize she was in that much pain. How old is she now? Is it more difficult for a horse to drive or ride, when in that condition ... or are they both equally as difficult?
What a sight seeing all the Friesians in the pasture ... so beautiful. They are by far my favourite breed of horse. So majestic!

Just to reassure you, she does not wear the same helmet that was broken in the accident. She uses an older 'spare' helmet but she could use a newer one. She received donation for a new helmet but she did not get around to a trip to the store. I think the normal daily tasks, such as household and care for her children and animals, and her therapy consumes much energy already.
The colts will not be Gelded... Once sold, will be their owner's decision...
About Uniek, I believe Yvonne did say that she( Uniek) does not appear to be in pain... So it seems that her treatment is definitely helping!
I expect she ( Yvonne) is taking it easy on both of them....
@@aggy5838 Oh good ... I was very disturbed and worried when she first got back up on a horse and was wearing that same helmet. Doesn't matter if the helmet doesn't look as brand new ... as long as it's safe to use.
@@lisajoyaslanis Horses can be very stoic ... I was more or less wondering if it's easier on a horse to be ridden with the weight on it's back, or driven with the pulling of the weight? My thinking was, when Uniek's not able to comfortably withstand having a rider on her back, could she then be switched over to driving?
Watching this video again and want to comment again; I really love to watch horse in front of the carriage/cart. My most beloved horse was a retired American Standardbred pacer. To this day, I am in my late seventies, I wish I had been able to not only ride her but, to learn how to drive her in front of a carriage. Rein, in my opinion is excellent with the horses and the carriage!! Thank you everyone and much love to all.❤️🌷🍀

I’m wondering if Pieter did some bullying in the stall (this will happen, it’s normal) and Risey made certain to keep his place once they were all outside.
He will be smaller and has to remind the bigger boys he won’t take any ugliness.
But I think you have the right of it, Jim, is Risey wanting to move up another rung on the social ladder?
Or was he simply cranky? Picking on Pieter is easier than Rinse Janko, the boss.
I think the ranking is Rinse Janko, Rising Star, Pieter. But sometimes it changes. Colts are a bit sweeter to each other than fillies/mares...
@@CrossedOverByGrace RS was clearly picking on both as he always does but RJ was running and not willing to play.
It's just RJ that finds it hard to pick on RS, so he doesn't anymore and mostly targets Pieter in all videos.
@@CrossedOverByGrace RS is already taller than them from the wither and in the future, will likely be wider as well. His mare and sire were overall bigger than theirs.
And RS has picked on RJ several times in this video itself, here: 15:22, so not sure what you mean by he did not pick on RJ. He was continuous picking on RJ and then Pieter interfered which made RS shift his focus and then RS started picking on Pieter afterwards. RS is currently on top of the ladder.

Is anyone else mesmerized by Reintje's feathers floating as she trots? Perhaps her's haven't been trimmed recently because Uniek's don't quite float out as much. Someday you will be back to your old self--but super charged. You taught Reintje very well that she remembers all. She is your horse, I think. I'd help you purchase her as I did Uniek. I am sorry about Senna and thank you for being so human in telling us your pain. I just realized, a few weeks ago, that the pile of sand has at long last been disbursed.
I will too. Reintje is such an amazing match for Yvonne. I can't wait until Rising Star is ready to be ridden.
I also suggest that. I'm 13 so there's not much I can do with the money, but I can comment and like the videos. and she is still a good breeding mare because she is barely 9 almost 10 years old she can still give yvonne healthy Friesian foals

Having watched the three amigos over quite a few months, there's definitely a rivalry going on between Risey and Pieter. Pieter used to get the better of it. He seemed to bond with Rinse Janko and tried to keep Risey a bit at bay (I think Risey is a little younger than the other two?) However, Risey is catching up fast in both body size and attitude and is now standing up for himself. Good for him!

We all find times we need to take it slower, Yvonne. Unfortunately, we speed things up when we are sure we are ready, and surprise, we are not! Please know we are rooting for you. Slowly, slowly is the the correct process right now. Yvonne, I hope you see from our comments we are thrilled you have progressed so well. We want you to be our herd leader for years to come. I always look for the queen’s crown. I was not disappointed, Queen Uniek.
So happy to see you progressing. One step at a time. Take it slow, but take it. Very proud of you and your great support group. Senna seemed to be a great dog. I don't think Rising Star is bullying. They're just playing and each takes his turn as instigator.
That's called bullying....
It's probably a translation thing and not in the same sense as humans bullying =) I think they know they're playing. Colts playing appears as bullying due to being training for when they'd face other stallions for mares, if they were wild. Which is why it can be called bullying.
You are doing fabulous Yvonne!!!! Loved seeing you and Uniek, your back so straight and her response to you. No pain for either. And knowing when to listen to your body and take a break the most important awareness. That awareness you have always had with your horse babies and now with yourself. (())
