    Great review! Thanks for taking the time to do that. There are many similarities between all the brands but all are surprisingly a little different. When we set out to do these, we looked at every brand, weighed them, checked the materials used, packing inside etc. and wanted to have something that would be as good as the "big brands" without the high cost. We were able to have a muffler that will last and sound good too! Thanks again!

    It’s funny, the Ulta-Max which you compare to the Borjla …. They remind me of a Dyno Max… incidentally it’s called the Ultra Flo 😂…. Hmmm almost like a complete copy. The Ultra Flo’s are one of my favorite mufflers especially with boost. Also I’ll add, I’m a Flowmaster hater… they always drone. Surprised that knockoff doesn’t

      Hi NoFox_Given, It seems the more I look around, the more similarities I see between certain mufflers. I the Mega-chamber was surprisingly decent on the highway, but I wonder if you might get some drone with steeper gears, h.c.i. etc. I guess every car can be a bit different. Also, I'm definitely going to check out the Ultra Flo mufflers. Thanks for mentioning them!!!👍👍

      Hi LSx! Now that I'm a bit older...lol...I thought having one car that doesn't require ear plugs would be great! Lol I still like the chambered muffler sound...but for now, on this car, the Mega-Flow seem to do the job. Only time will tell if or how much they get louder. Thanks for your feedback! And thank you for watching!!!👍👍

    Great comparison on the budget mufflers. I really like the stainless turbos. But the chamber sound is my go to. Great idea with the exhaust hangers, I’m going to remember that. I love the stripe on the car, it goes with the Cobra badge nicely. Great video, I hope you’re safe from the wildfires!

      Hello Rick! I really like how quiet the car is, but still has a rumble when you want it. I have to admit the chambered mufflers have such a sweet sound, especially at idle... So far I'm quite happy with how things are tuning out on the 92. We are quite a ways away from the fires, but a few days ago, we had so much smoke from the fires that you would think it's in your back yard. Hope we get rain soon to help all those affected. Have a great weekend!!!👍👍

      Hi Benny! Once I had the last muffler on the car, I already missed the idle and sound of the chambered muffler. I wanted something quieter for this car. I guess time will tell to see how much these mufflers will "break in". At least you know with the chambered muffler, the sound will always be consistent. I admit, the chambered mufflers could still end up back on the car. Lol! Thanks for watching!!!👍👍

  • @SleazysGarage
    @SleazysGarage Před rokem +2

    Definitely prefer the sound of the chambered. Classic sound, pure nostalgia. Are they aluminized steel? The stainless mufflers look great underneath there and sound fantastic though. Thanks for making this comparison!

    • @306foxbody1
      @306foxbody1  Před rokem

      Hey there! The chambered mufflers might end up back on the 92 eventually...starting to feel a bit torn between the two...lol They sure had a nice idle to them, even with a factory cam. I think the chambered mufflers are regular steel. They are definitely heavy enough that I can't see them ever rusting out...have a great weekend!!!👍👍

    Hi, it was hard to tell really, but if I had to choose one for over all power, I think the stainless steel muffler would prevail due to the straight through design. Thanks!

    I had a bunch of scrap metal around and a stick welder so I scratched up a 15 inch glass pack 2'' in and a 4'' burnt stainless tip to match the one like it that was bought "too expensive" tho it was made out a free old 316L stainless barrel and a half box of 6011 rod some 7018 for the stainless tips... I got bad sun burn from that, as European as a ford could get. can boil water on the muffler tips idling up and down the driveway during winter time.

    Great video and comparison. Nice car as well, especially with the added stripe!
    I have a 1968 Mustang GT 390, it’s all original and it has the H pipe with dual turbo style mufflers from the 80’s. It has no headers or resonators. My desire is to up the sound by a notch without making it obnoxiously loud. It’s a true classic but I want to reduce the back pressure and make it sound less anemic than these turbo mufflers.
    I’m torn between the ultra max and the chambered muffler, but other reviews of the Flowmaster chambered sounded too clattery and I’m concerned with drowning. For some reason these chambered mufflers did not have that tinny sound.
    Any suggestion which of the two models would suit my Mustang? I’m sure that the advanced technology of the Fox body is giving a different sound than what it would on mine. That is my dilemma. A side note, the car is not driven hard or raced I just want it to sound proper for what it is.

    • @306foxbody1
      @306foxbody1  Před rokem +1

      Hello! I think I know exactly what you mean by wanting more exhaust note with out making the car sound obnoxious. That's the very reason I went with the Ultra-Max mufflers. The are surprisingly quite for a straight through design. They may get a bit louder in time. The 92 Mustang is basically stock except for long tube headers, home built H-pipe with no cats, the Ultra Max mufflers, and Flowmaster tail pipes. The car is quiet on the highway, but still has a nice rumble when you go through the gears. One other muffler that I've had on other cars was a Dynomax Super Turbo. They arnt loud,but still have a distinctive rumble, and sound good at idle. The UltaMax will definitely be less restrictive, and has a very good price point. I think they would be worth looking at. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment!

      I am thinking of doing the same. I have a 67 Buick Special Deluxe with the 225 Odd Fire V6 bought new by my great grandparents.I now have 2 1/4 dual exhausts with H pipe cutouts and Flowmaster 40s. The weight of the Flowmaster's is a lot more. I was thinking of a Borla s type. The car ran 18s here in CALIFORNIA, SoCal. It's not breaking any land speed record, but I didn't think it was bad being a V6 and a 2 speed trans with a 2.93 rear gear. I also had about a 70 mile dive up and back.
