This was one of my favorite questions. I have been assisting my colleagues with their assigned duties. I have received no credit or praise; instead, I have been shouted at and looked down upon. I tried to quit my job several times because you know how bad their vice and attitude are. It is extremely difficult to swallow a burning tongue. The humility demonstrated by our Savior Jesus Christ is what keeps me going.

I don't mind helping people out and we should give, if we have the ability to help. "Ability" being a key word. If you have it is one thing. If you don't, you can't give something you don't have.

The weekness of this video is learning to know when one can help in that instant and when one should turn the need over to people who are better equiped to handle it.

02:00 disagree. Sometimes people are in a rut that they don't know how to get out of. 2 Thessalonians doesn't teach us to disregard others needs.
We as humans tend to judge based on our own human nature. God's word says to be giving and I will be giving whenever I am able.

Ever stop to think that that person may not be lazy? Perhaps they are in depression and cannot get out of the situation they are in because the devil has blinded them with hopelessness.
You may be the only person that can help them and you are just going to leave them on the streets because they don't seem to want to help themselves? I'm getting the impression that your church doesn't have a homeless ministry. I can tell almost without even asking.

There is so much more underneath the surface. Trauma, PTSD, neurodevelopmental disorders, depression, non-obvious physical impairments. When a person is caught up in a freeze response, it can look like laziness on the outside. On the inside, that person may be having to take life one day at a time or just trying to not take their own life.

I wish you would do an in depth program on this issue, especially when it's not due issues of finances / laziness. It's unbearable when it comes to family. I am in a position where I am the logical person to take care of elderly parents, since I work from home and I live here. But at least 90% falls on me. I also get yelled at on a regular basis. Other family members go on vacation and I'm left dealing with everything. It's not right. It's been at least 8 years of this. My mind and my body are breaking down. But I dare not complain. I'm afraid the limited help I do get will also go away. No, talking to the church or finding counseling are not options in my specific situation. Neither is me moving. I work barely part time. That's why I have to live here.

I've learned that boundaries are extremely important. You gotta learn to limit yourself what you can do. Don't burn yourself! I will definitely pray for your situation and may the Lord help you through this! Thanks for sharing with us. God bless.

I have prayed for you. Different situation, but I know what it's like to endure getting raged near-daily because you need to make a living situation work for the good of all. It takes a toll that makes daily life hard, let alone the super power strength needed to afford your own home. Keep praying. Some insurance plans will cover tele-therapy if you press them, sometimes with a zero co-pay depending on your plan. Grow Therapy has some Christian therapists. I catch your drift about why you think you can't talk to the church, but we are not meant to do life alone. Seek support within the body of Christ, even if you have to do it online. As for me, I've prayed the door would open. I suffered a lot in the past few years, but it wasn't time. I endured. Now, God has said "enough" and pulling me out. If it's still your time to endure, then do your best to accomplish his purposes and let it work in you. But also pray for helpers and don't do suffer alone.

There is nothing to keep you from laying out all your complaints to the Lord, nor should you keep them from Him (Psalm 62:8). And whether help comes from this source or that source, it is all from the Lord (James 1:16-17). Even so, do give thanks to the Lord for everything He gives you, for what is does not compare to what will be ( 2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

I really Do NOT think the Problem is that We as Christians GIVE TOO MUCH..its that we DON'T Give ENOUGH!!!!! We look at our Money as OUR Money and Not THE LORD'S and THAT is the Problem...EVERY SINGLE THING we Have belongs to JESUS and HE Promises to " Increase Our Storehouses and Abundance, so that we CAN BE GENEROUS on ALL Occasions, having Everything we need " ...So BE GENEROUS, Not Stingy...JESUS has Lavished us with SO MUCH, We THEREFORE should be Excited to Give it AWAY to those in Need!!!

Not just that, we are also guilty of theft in the eyes of God, most of us don't even tithe.

      Well, that's sad.
If, as you imply, his life was a waste of gifts like money, power, and charm, then he absolutely needs to repent before he dies.
Old age is a lot lower number too now, after the covid shots.
It seems like your filial duty is to model Christ in your father's life, in order that he can see the gospel.
Whether it requires indescribable kindness or flipping tables and whipping people with cords, I cannot say.

Thank you for this comment. I've been in this position. I offered to help this individual on a few occasions hearing about their predicament. They began to ask for assistance frequently even stating how much.
I became weary, not in doing good, but it seems they have given the place that belongs to God to me. This brought me under conviction. I withdrew in order to let God alone be their mainstay.
A hard lesson to learn, but I have decided to do things in anonymity and if not possible, let them know from the onset that I am a vessel used by God, and they should always seek God alone for their needs and never look to any man including me

The only problem with this mindset is that people who are sincerely trying to improve we would not consider evil men. The freeloader who takes advantage repeatedly… that falls into the category of evil. Jesus said to do good and give and lend to ungrateful and evil men, just like God does.

I think you are being too soft. You have no idea of the problems you can create for other people by being too gracious to a devil. Better to know what is right and wrong when you are in this situation. You lack wisdom.

    • @deanfry879
      @deanfry879 Před měsícem

How many of those problems were cause by soft-hearted people getting into something over their heads instead of passing it on to those who are better equiped? God Himself has been generous to many devils, otherwise no one would be saved. You have stated what is too soft, but what is too hard-hearted? Where is your balance?
