It’s just impossible not to love him once you start understanding who he is. Ren is so much more than his music but that’s also what makes his music so special. Authentic and full of heart and soul ❤

Runaway sounds like it should have been on the radio.
He was surrounded by so much death at a time when all he wanted to do was live without illness. That he has remained kind and open is testament to how big his heart was from the beginning.

I love watching your reactions to the Chapters because Ren is still relatively new to you. You don't have cobbled together stories of his history so you're learning it all from scratch. Makes it so much more interesting to watch. (plus the songs at the end are new for you and watching someone realize just how good Ren is just fun).
So few reactors have touched the Trick the Fox stuff, too! It's not my cup of tea except for the fact that it's where Ren came from, but just because it's not my perferred cup of tea doesn't mean that they're not good! Far more reactors should be checking them out, if they're doing deep dives into Ren's catalogue, especially since there's only a few videos out there. It's not a big branch of the rabbit warren's tunnels.
@@rebeccaburnell9319 The Trick the Fox stuff feels like what Ren would've been as an artist if he hadn't gotten ill. It's good, it's not going to rip you heart out and it shows talent but it's very mainstream. Today's Ren has some travel gravel on him. I would never wish illness on someone but his troubles really gave him depth.
The song at the end is really old, I think it was uploaded to the trick the fox youtube channel 12 years ago. I love that he's adding a song at the end that coincidence with the timeline of his story.
Love your reactions. Being equipped with his full backstory, you will definitely see how he turned his experiences into musical gold (eg) songs like "Sick boi," " Chalk outlines (live)," "seven sins," "Loco," etc. You have such an amazing musical reaction journey ahead

I'm so grateful you're doing these videos! It's going to be super interesting to watch someone learn all of these details about Ren's life BEFORE they've seen much of his music (& I've really enjoyed your reactions to the tracks you've already done of Ren's music)... and then it'll be fascinating to watch you uncover Ren's catalogue one song at a time in whatever order, with ALL of this perspective he's offering through this storytelling.
I mean, tons of this information is new to me & to almost every Ren fan out there, but many of us know at least some of the outline of what he's been through already.
... "see" you tomorrow (or soon, anyway - no idea if you're going to be able to keep reacting to these videos day-of or not, that's a lot of extra reaction work to do on top of your normal reactions, being a dad, and whatever else you have going on in life).

Thanks again for reacting to this. Trick the Fox was his first Indie band. That's when Ren was discovered and signed by Sony. He released his first album Freckled Angels in 2016, independently which included some of his Trick the Fox tracks including this one. His Trick the Fox youtube page is still there.

Ren's song, Mackey, is for Calum. Just so you know. It's a very different piece of music from Ren. Not sure if you have reacted to that one yet since I'm new to your channel. Mackey was recently released, Ren and Calum shared birthdays cuz their birthdays were a week apart so Ren released Mackey around a Ren's birthday in March.
