This mindset used to drive me crazy during the 40 years I was a Christian. Get results! Make prayer work! Put your quarter in and get that candy bar! No, even BACK THEN I realized that prayer is a conversation, it's intimacy with your deity to learn HIS mind, HIS heart - not lobby for your plans, your program. That's how I treated it and I REFUSED this gimme-gimme-gimme mindset until I finally left Christianity as too much the religion of materiality, of me-want, of being stuck in some childish "What'd you bring me, Daddy" mode.
