It's so crushing to think that Joe was looking forward to this moment for weeks or even months between throwing the potato and the filming of the show
Oh man you're right, damn that makes it even worse! Although at least he spent those months basking in the glory of that potato shot before the DQ.
I'm pretty sure he's alright with being the protagonist of one of the best, if not the single best, moment in the show's history. And there have been many special moments so that's saying something. It wouldn't have been nowhere near as memorable had it been a valid attempt and from a comedian's point of view, that's more important. Maybe not at the moment but retrospectively, I'm sure he doesn't mind at all.
He thought he had a very cool moment, but what he actually got was...the best moment in the show's history. I'd write that down as a win.
It's the fact they let him celebrate and enjoy the moment before taking it away 😆
Yes, and adding on top of that how much he struggled with some of the other tasks, but every time he could think, “Just wait. You’re going to see me finally redeem myself.”
I love this clip. Doc Brown kills me at the end “That’s harsh”.
What's even better is you know Joe went home, watched the broadcast and knew Doc stabbed him in the back in front of everyone.

How do I get to heaven? Will my good deeds be measured against my bad deeds? Do I need to be a good person to go to heaven? How do I know if I'm good enough?
Well the bible says no man is good, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So how do we get to heaven? Answer: By believing on Jesus Christ who took the punishment for our sin on the cross. There are no amount of good works we can do to achieve salvation because salvation is a free gift of God. I like how this video had the whole clip of the task and Joe's downfall. The ones of the Taskmaster channel edit out the studio bits, which to me is the best bits of this. the voting and then doc's "that's harsh" at the end

Alex has such a shit-eating grin building up to that replay, he knew what was coming and i could feel his secret glee through the screen
Before the show Greg even told Joe that they are going to shit on someone’s parade in their episode. It was only after Joe realised who he meant.
the full video is even better , all of the others had a lot of difficulty in completing the task and it just sets it up brilliantly when Joe just plonks it

15 seasons, multiple spin offs, and yet this is still one of the most heartbreaking moments in all of taskmaster. Gut punch every time I watch this.

This has to be one of the greatest moments in television ever
I think this one task perfectly sums up why Taskmaster is such a great show. The challenges are dumb but ingenious with room to find creative solutions or totally snooker yourself. The contestants get genuinely into it and really care which makes it compelling to watch. But what pushes it into genius level is the timing and editing of the footage.
The audience reaction as they zoom in on Joe's foot absolutely demonstrates that.

I know this is the popular clip but this sums up Taskmaster perfectly. The quirky tasks, the quick thinking or failing terribly, Alex bring Alex, huge triumph followed by an in studio revelation and Greg being the great Taskmaster he is, while his fellow contestants decide his fate before getting disqualified.
There's a reason this clip went viral, because you just can't script natural greatness!
i always love how when greg is giving his final verdict you can tell he's trying so hard not to laugh

IDK I need to see another angle. Rules said "touch" they didn't say anything about part of a person extending beyond the red perimeter which would happen if someone leans their arm over to get an easier toss without actually touching the red. The part of the shoe which looks to be touching could have just barely been the part of the shoe which angles upward, meaning it broke the perimeter but may not have actually made contact.
I think they should have had him throw it again. If he gets it, 5 points, if he doesn't get it, no points. But not giving it to him when he just went for it when everyone else mucked around... he was the most ballsy. He deserves it.

That video was no definitive proof that he stepped on the red. For all we know that centimeter could've been the curved lip of his shoe above the red and there's no rule against that
