If you don't have the key, it would literally take hundreds of years with many computers to brute force the standard encryption that currently exists. Its figuring out the passcodes, unencrypted devices, biometrics and unpatched security flaws that makes data get accessed, not severity of crime. There is no magical backdoor in encryption that the government can use despite the conspiracy theories unless the manufacturer themselves put it there.
