Western truck and tractor repair can do this job! He deserves more people on his channel! Hardest workin man out there
He's a legend, would love to see some kind of colab between WTTR and DEBOSS!!
@@Dazza_au yeah that man deserves it!! Working his ass of for his family!!
“Luckily the hydraulics were leaking, so this is still in pretty good shape.” Canada is wild 😂 ✌️✌️
Rust belt of the US is just as bad, I try and smear some oil on my frame whenever I change it. It won't last forever but it's definitely better than it could be.
Yeah the oil preserves whatever it's leaking on, that's why he said luckily it was leaking
Hit up western truck and tractor repair. He has the manuals for the RTLO 10 13 and 18 speeds. Also he might be able to do it for you 👍🏻✌️
Manuals are available online.
Warren is the man. Would love to see DG be able to help boost his channel.
Eaton is one of the great companies they have all the service manuals available for download for free on there website
@@joewood9151just not in all countries it sells its products to
Warren started my watching of heavy equipment repair and fab, such a great guy and channel
FabRats - builds Offroad rollback.
Matts offroad recovery - builds offroad rollback.
DeBoss garage - builds offroad rollback.
Me - wanna see them in a competition.
😁👌
This one is already better. The Fab rats is cute and nice, Matts will work, Deboss will stomp that competition. Lets see what Chad builds. With out Chad's Fab none of Matt's, or Paul's would ever run. Robbie too. Deboss don't need help.
@@ktmcc4360 well you'r partly right, but "stomp that competition" I'am not as sure of, if they would be competing in offroad since they name it "offroad rollback" I bet my pennies on FabRats Paul Cox.
Cleeter and Squirrel have a roll back too, jus not 4x4. 😂
" thats just first few layers of steel " watching all the way from Australia it blows my mind seeing sheer amount of rust on things during some of these vids.
It's horrible , no actually terrible . . the amount of rust they put up with
Sad thing is that this isn't the worst thing out there lmao that's almost minty by plow standards 😅
One of the few people I've watched to actually polish several turds successfully 😂
Your understanding of all things mechanical is extremely impressive....
That cable shovel looked to be in pretty good shape.
If he even looks at something like that he is going to at least try to start it eventually.
I was plowing snow back in 2013 thru 2018 in Maryland. And the Sterlings getting hard to source parts. Sterling went out in 2009. That could be why she was scraped with 100 k miles on it. Love the content, keep it up. Have a great summer.
LoL need a dash for a tree truck LoL
My favorite build on CZcams right now. Looking for one of those cabs hoping to do the same on a F700
The main box overdrive change will require buying 6 new gears, since there is no tag you will need the numbers off of the main shaft gears to I.D main box. Depending on the auxiliary section Eaton Fuller went through a number of changes through the years, 6 series had cylindrical roller bearings in the main box and 7 series moved into tapered bearings in the auxiliary with helical cut gears.
Actually, you don’t need all those gears, I believe. We did this on our tow truck 15+ years ago. There are two? Gears only they swap out, it changes your shift pattern so the 3 and 4 positions are switched. We had it done by a heavy transmission repair shop in Edmonton. I can find their name if you are interested. It gave 12 to 15 percent overdrive
@@firemanjay1472that's if your overdriving in front section not rear sectio most older 9 spd 10spd and 15spd were done that way
No better friend than one with a Salvage Yard!
Amen
TRUTH!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
On the 10 speed they also made a couple shift cover versions, when you add overdrive to the main box it alters the shift pattern. 4th gear will be where 5th used to be and 5th will be where 4th used to be. Eaton did make a shift cover that would give you a standard shift pattern with an overdrive main box.
If you ever need any parts of information for that transmission let me know, work on them every day that is most likely a
RTX 14710.
For sure a 7 series though by the air Piston design.
Eaton Info ranger for parts catalog, they really aren't that difficult other than pressing the countershaft gears off/on.
If you feel like shipping it I'm in eastern North Dakota.
So is the 7 series less whiney than the 6?
@@anchorbrandranch definitely, it has finer teeth in the front box and helical gears in the back that run smoother.
And a updated main shaft with thrust washers between each gear. So you won't burn gears/thrust washers like the 5-series would when pulling hard.
Along with many other general improvements.
I do enjoy the content on this old truck Rich, I've always been so envious of you guys in Canada as you have some seriously good looking old machines 👌🏻
Looking better every time. Cheers
Looking good Rich. Very ambitious project!
Kids are getting giddy in a candy store - for Rich this place is the wrecking yard. 😁😁🤘🤘
Like the effort put in to see if the bit you want works. No effort spared up to spending money. Common sense applied when needed and knowing when to call it a day.. looking forwards to seeing you rip stuff apart and getting it mounted and Vince working his magic.
Cheers…
What a great thing to be waken up and receive this video, hell yeah good luck and have fun!
Absolutely AWESOME project!!!
This will be an awesome build . A few other channels are building off road wreckers. They are beta testing them as they go, but this one will really get you there and back in a hurry. Good job on the frame work it'll look great.
Truly appreciate the builds!
Looking forward to this one. Hot rod rollback.
Heh heh, I feel your pain Rich! Typical 'Down-Time' 466.🤪 I absolutely despised these engines when I was still in the automotive business. The standard DT-466 wasn't quite as bad, but when the 'E' series came out, our local school district bought several buses with them, and I can't tell you how many hours I spent on the phone with the IHC dealer, and the guy that actually turned wrenches at the bus yard. (They tried to get me to work for them, but I stayed far away from the place!) I just helped with diagnostics once in a while, if I couldn't talk my way out of it..🤣 They also had a couple of 24v. common-rail Cummins-powered Thomas buses that almost NEVER gave any problems (at least engine-wise).😉
Exciting things are happening at DEBOSS GARAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
The Fargo build is looking pretty slick. 😂
I like projects over time where your treasure hunting for the parts.
Good stuff.
I'm catching on to your international DT466 attraction.
I learned box truck driving on Ford tilt cabs. When they finally outlived their use as band moving trucks, renting Ryder Ints with 466's became the norm.
I loved driving those trucks hauling rock bands from town to town.
I'm on the waitlist for electrifying my ISC Cummins and Allison.
Tphat is by far my favorite body truck that IH cab and hood needs to live on in the next project 🤣
Like I said, in previous videos, you should I get a metric ton. It’s a lot better 10 speed. I told you to get a hold of me if you have any questions. I rebuilt hundreds of these probably thousand it would make your truck through 100 miles an hour. It has very high overdrive
Nice work rich!
That thing is gonna be a beast
I work for a large transport company. Everytime I see or hear the word Roadranger I think of our local terminal manager bragging about how he hired a new driver who was "Roadranger ready"
Everybody was waiting to be allowed to laugh but he was serious.
This made me think about making a movie about a maverick truck driver, the last one in the world who could drive stick
*MOVIE PREVIEW VOICE*
"In a world full of automatics comes one man. ROADRANGER"
That terminal manager was a real life Micheal Scott.
Gotta love the old miller trucks
While the shift cover is off, free up the 4-5 & 9-10 shift pivot pin. The shouldered pin rust jacks and makes it very difficult to shift those gears. I used to work on ny salt trucks, ask me how I know.
really cool mate
if your painting old stuff like a frame, get some penetrol additive for it,at a industrial paint store, Lowes HD in the US has it in paint section, It makes it stick much better., and if you want UV protection, Hardness and shine, get some wet look additive.
have you thought about using wheel motors on the front of trucks that don't have a solod front axil. In theory you could avoid redoing the front end and just replace the knuckle. thought for the electric conversion. to simplify the front-end upgrade
Check out the big brains on Brad. This guy is smarter than most. Epic stuff. F Tree kitty is off the hook.
I sure would hope it looks brand new it's barely broken in.
the 466E sounds like a perfect upgrade for Kevin's Skidsteer... Perma Wheelie... LOL
Change the crank and cam position sensors do not use after market. Even Internationals Runright aftermarket are junk and often don't work new.
can you add grease zerks along the frame so you can keep it from rust jacking between the frame @deboss garage
“It has working brakes too? Are you kidding?!?!” Literally every loader doesent have brakes 🤣 that’s a diamond in the ruff
very nice
We got a couple scrap yards around here but they’re not like V&R, you’re not gonna get anything that resembles a deal on anything and neither want you going out there taking anything apart yourself, you tell them what you want and they’ll go get it at their convenience and charge you accordingly 🤣
This is cool
Very interesting build. Kudos to you my brother. Nice wheels. will those singles handle heavy load ?
It will mostly be a flatbed with vehicles on it. Short trips with a dump bin. Not too worried
You've pretty much covered all engine manufacturers now with all your projects. They assemble Paccar trucks in Montréal. One of them would make a cute pickup.
Check all the input shaft. Also make sure you don’t need to change it while it’s out. If you need more of these transmissions they’re basically the antique I’m getting ready to throw a couple of them away.
18:03 she's got some cracking oil pressure 🤣👌
Watching you get That truck running gave zip ties and bias plies vibes 😂😂
I would put in twin sticks for the overdrive...
Good video. You can't swap 4th and 5th (9th and 10th) to make an overdrive as the step between 3rd and 4th ( 8th and 9th) would be too great. The best thing to do is upgrade the 10 speed to a 13 or 15 speed by replacing the back of the transmission, that is easy to then change to an overdrive.
Notice on cat rebuild video do you not replace frost plugs ,core plugs, Welsh plugs or they normally ok and ones in head just wondering
I have a 1972 Dodge C 800 that I wish I could copy your build on
Hey Rich. Are you still looking at putting a Nick's garage 440 tri-power in the k car?
I can't believe how everything is so rusted out, sandblast the 10 speed down and get it a coat of rust-primer before installing it.
That red crane is something diesel creek would buy. Pretty sure he has one.
Cool
Talk about an engine hoist....!...😎🤓😝
Warren at western truck and tractor a good old mechanic doesn't just fire the parts cannon at things actually diagnoses the real problem
What's the conversion factor for metric to imperial hours??!
Any update on the 66 vw
check WG Equipment in canfeild hes about 10-15 mins away from you on highway 56&HWY3
So close but sooo far.
Wow metric or imperial hours?
Get the vin number off cab call a freight liner dealer if it’s the trans that came in truck they can tell you what model it is it’s probably original transmission
When are you going to finish the interior on that semi
I just got it about a month ago, but I use it too much to do it now. It will get it in the winter
im wondering how your registering this truck? im looking at getting a topkick for towing a camper and daily driving but i dont want to have to do a log book every time i take it out.
Isn't under 25,999 lbs non-CDL territory, regardless of air brakes or hydraulic?
Imagine turning this into an offroad 6wd unit
What was the red trick parked back near the truck u got
I am guessing it was an sbr Isuzu
😎👍
There is a guy by Waterford that is a awesome builder for transmissions i can find his number if you want
Sure, let me know!
👍😁
How far are you from Buffalo NY?
Try getting ahold of Mike the Gearman might be able to help you out with some of this
DT466 E or not, always has Oil rail o-ring problems and injector issues. They also have a bad problem with cam lobes whiping out and lifter/push rods dropping down. The subsequent Maxxforce engines in 9, 10, 11 L variants are the same exact design as the original DT466-E just with more electronics attached to it, and same problems. The Maxxforce 13 is a special kind of fucked up, it's a Man engine that got a really bad EGR system strapped to it.
the trailer is officially broken in, it got a scratch 😂
How much Cosby sauce?………all of it.!!!!! Not sure you used it all thou🤔
found the service manual for your transmission, where do I send it
emailed it to your info@ email

Should do a everything wrong with a dt466e now
We have a couple old MACKs at work with 35,000 hrs on it and still on the road.
And they have been rebuilt, you can have high hours just depends on it’s rebuilds and maintenance
If the input gear is smaller than the mainshaft gear right behind it, as we can clearly see at 6:18 it is NOT an overdrive. To make it an overdrive you need to change the input gear to a larger one and install smaller countershaft header gears. It may even need more parts than that. You need new parts, there is nothing you can switch around in the box to make it an overdrive.
There were quite a few comments saying it was possible without buying any other parts. That's why Im after a manual
@@DEBOSSGARAGE Well, I am pretty sure that is incorrect, but good luck.
Always fun watching your builds come together. Great stuff.
No spark! 😂
Trim clad is like por 15??
I think it's more like Canadian Rust-Oleum than Por-15.
I can fix that transmission or tell you how to do it. Or sell you the cracked one that has a higher overdrive.
👊👍
Whos selling that cable shovel ?
I can do it at my shop or I can sell you a lot better transmission either way I am in Michigan
Ya u rook
Eng hours converted to 24 continuous hrs equals 743 days straight.....
I’m only here for the music.
Put something on the back that you can race in the pikes peak hill climb!
Then roll this thing to Colorado Springs, just so you can get the thumbnail of it in front of Fargo's Pizza!
17844 hours is only 743.5 days, that's nothing.
eheheheheheheheh FART go eheheheheheheheheheheheheh
The E's are ok, but ya, you need to go through the wiring harness and pull all of the utter crap that International felt the need to put on their chassis.
But if your just some noob that pokes wires to the battery without knowing where they go, and puts M12 batteries under seats...........
JK!!! JK!!! dont get all pissed off!! 🙂
ocd? LoL
Vidio very dark
