- I'm back out on the road with The S&G Story for a few weeks, and what better to do while I'm here then put another tune together?
From Left: Bob Sale, Marc Encabo, Ben Cooley, Alec Hamilton, Taylor Bloom, Josh Turner.
Recorded on a Zoom H6, on the roof of the Streamline Hotel in Daytona Beach, FL. - Hudba
The bassist easily had the most fun, dude was feeling it.
The bass line is the grooviest part of the song, my dude.
It s a little bit to fast comparate to the original. The bass is best you right and the notes of telecaster too

IKR I was him once upon a time but on guitar and singing. I love it when folks LOVE what they're doing and that kid was awesome on that bass!
@mommatoldme Oh brother here we go again. LOL Too funny. The devil made him do it. LOL :)
I'm a guy that got drafted into the military in 1967. It's so cool that guys that weren't even born then have an appreciation for the music from that era. Thanks for posting.
thank you✨

@@user-cv5oo8ln9h Thanks for the reply. I'm no hero. Just did what I supposed to do. I love Japan and hope to visit there in the next year or so. I did work for Sony Pro a couple of years ago and hope to visit them.
I was born at the end of the war. I still love that music. My parents played it when I was a baby. I like a lot of music that was before I was born.
Love it. Great message 👍
Thank you for your service! I was born in 67...
Great cover! The drummer (Dewey Martin) was my cousin and though sadly he is no longer with us I have no doubt that he would have been extremely gratified to know that this song lives on. Well done Josh Turner Guitar.
So sad man. Respect for him.
Jayford Jay, so sorry to hear Dewey Martin was your cousin and is no longer with us. Please accept my condolences. He seemed so full of life in this video. I happen to love drummers because I also learned to drum at the age of 50 and I'm 75 now, and a grandma. I've suddenly found myself compelled to watch all your videos and catch up with all your enormous talents. You capture the songs you play as if you were the musicians that played them for the first time. You are truly operating a Time Machine. You have taken me back to times in my life that were significant. The reminiscence is delicious and sad at the same time, so please, don't stop. I love each journey. I'm so glad to see that musicians don't have to be steeped in drugs to play good. Keep it up. There is still hope in the world for goodness.
Met Dewey when I was working for Elliot Roberts. Great guy. His music lives on.
@@passion777able Dewey was the drummer in Buffalo Springfield, not the drummer in this video. He sadly passed away in 2009.
@@bobafetting6373 Thanks for the clarification!
It's early 2024. I just stumbled onto your video and all I can say is WOW! You guys played this song like you owned it! ! ! ! ! ! Well Done!
watch cover of Suite Judy Blue Eyes.
This entire video I was weirded out about why the bassist also played the drums with his right hand until at the very end when I realized he now couldn’t possibly have three arms
Lutger And the guy in the black shirt has a massive left leg until half way through
yeetoo LOL HE REALLY DOES
Yes he has 3 arms. It's our secret.
Too faded lol
Lmao. I can't un-see that now. I. Am. Dead.
The drummer got into the band so you guys could buy beer right?
jeffinvancouver drummers just like to hangout with musicians
Lol
idiot comment just because he looks older ..... you will arrive
@@aruize78 relax there horse it's a joke. So sensitive.

making fun of someone else is not fun
The young man with the black shirt and no instrument has such a soulful voice
I thought the very same thing, just couldn't put it into the words like you did. He was mesmerizing. I am new to these guys so I have a lot of videos to watch.... 💛
He fucking rocks!!!!
100% agree.
i wish he would sing more
Best voice of them all by far
Good job! Buffalo Springfield was in my time, the time of war and turmoil, the 60’s…loved this song.
Was hoping for the harmonizing "oo's" at 1:25. Was not disappointed!!
Scuffed Steve Aoki yes!
And 1:12, so good lol
1:04
Harmony,? But love the kids who have become so ! GOOD🐾♥️🐾♥️
Same. I only noticed on the third play. I was too busy singing over it 😂
These are the cleanest looking people I've ever seen.
its like they shower daily

It's kind of refreshing to see young people who don't act like ragged clothes is stylish.
Tony Hemingway for reasons stated!. I suggest you view: Toto Africa cover by teenage polish group.
I am 67 and I remember the original extremely well. How appropriate this song is for today!
The bass player is jamming and he looks like he’s having so much fun 😎
I'm pretty sure he took a rip prior
I'd be pretty juiced to be singing or playing music with Josh. He is off the charts gifted. Long life to you, my friend.
you can't not be having wearing those pants!
One more ! 😁
'cause it's real music with real message with real musicians.
Wow the band Buffalo Springfield aged well, they look so much younger than I remember.
Yeah, especially Neil Young.
They were so much older then. They're younger than that now.
And I didn't realise Rivers Cuomo left Weezer to do this as his project!
@@dannygreen1964 You could likely look that up your back pages.
@@Ken4Pyro It's not really what I want to do.
you've brought tears to this old man's eyes
I was "there" when that song first came out. In the Army. So many conflicting emotions. Demonstrations at the Pentagon where I was stationed. Madness. All of it madness.
And here we are again with the people telling the leaders we need change if we are to survive as a free nation
Yup I’m happy they get it but it’s always too late. Rather guitars than guns, I was lucky
Thanks dude. I served too, but it wasn't like the late 60s and 70s
@@Brime69 No sir. I was three weeks from being shipped out and my orders were rescinded. However, I was stationed at Arlington Cemetery and got to see the other end of it.
@@Brime69 Thank you, John! Just a side note. Two years ago I was working out at Planet Fitness and had an ARMY t shirt on I bought off Amazon. As I was walking out, sweat and all, a girl at the counter said, "Thank you for your service." I stopped in my tracks. Thought a second, and then said, "In fifty years not once did anyone say that to me! Thank you!"
excellent cover - appropriate song for June 2020.
Indeed. I just hope we don't have another Vietnam right around the corner
Not even close! Not with the thieving looting and dirtbagery over a dead career criminal? Get real.
@@Forevertrue You are right. Police aren't doing shit too so o don't know what the hell the rioters are trying to accomplish. Literally voting Red to spite them.
@@Terabit3 Civil war is more likely. Which would lead to police state ... a la Mussolini and Hitler. Read history of Germany from 1919 to 1939 .... frightening parallels to my mind .....
Trump 2020. But here is a fun fact for you. For What it's Worth is not a Vietnam war protest song. It is about the 1966 curfew law on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. Stephen Stills was arrested during the protest and wrote this song shortly thereafter.
Best Springfield cover I’ve ever heard.. and I grew up listening to them...
lol the bassist was FEELIN' IT
Channeling Michael Rhodes
No, he was making up for things, can you not see/feel the difference? This is lack of the actual thing plus that. When will you people stop lieing about this, I know you mean it well. But it just brings you away what you actually wanted. Seriously you people do that 24/7. It freaks me out due to the blatantly obvious dissonance of reality and what you say. Why the fuck do you do it? What's the point?
@@27scole Man, you need to relax. Michael Rhodes is outwardly the happiest bassist I've ever seen and the young man here was clearly having a good time as well. Just enjoy the music and scroll on.
@@27scole woah boy chill.
27scole “ why the fuck do you do it ? What’s the point? “
Right back at ya, why do you do it ? It’s all so fucking irrelevant anyway 😘
Great rendition. Love that song. Sorry for your loss. He is in your heart and soul forever. Never say goodbye. Just say, I will see you later. Good man. Great drummer.🎵🎶🎸🎤🎙🎼
Your “old guy” drummer reminds me of me in my church praise band: I’m 57 and play bass. Everyone else is in their teens and 20s. It’s fun though. I remember one time they were teasing me about being too old to be cool. Then I reminded them that I started playing bar gigs since the early 80s. They were like: Man, you were cool before we were even BORN! 😂😂😂
I love it when a younger generation takes an old song and plays and sings it perfectly.
Keep it going, great job!
I have been listening to this song my whole life. September 2020, I’m living it.
Another classic song.Turner and friends keep it close to the original.Great.Keeping the classics alive.
Been bingeing on Josh tube for 24 hours since I discovered it. Absolutely charmed.
Have to comment on this one. I Remember playing this with my high school garage band at a demolay party in Homewood Alabama in spring 1967. Always loved it. And josh you absolutely nail the lead parts. Incredible. But I’m most impressed with how you are always surrounded by great talent. You’ve got a special magnet.
Carry on.
Doesn't get much better than that..great job boys
Class
Just now seeing this. I cannot express how much I love this. That these guys memorialized this song even more. Damn
Please watch bio on Rosetta Tharpe.
She was something special.
@@scottambrose2885 Awww man, she is great. I love the concert at the disused railway station in England on a rainy day, way back when. 🙂
@@davidhbrown9767 You are so lucky. It is very interesting how the English listened to southern US musicians and moved it forward. And then it came back to US. So many black musicians that have been overlooked and stolen from.
doesn't everybody love most the songs they grew up with? when Josh and friends do 60s or 70s songs, i'm a kid again.
On every Josh videos, I feel so good seing that the comment section is a place full of kindness and fun! It is so rare on CZcams to find so many good and polite lads in the comments! Thanks Josh to gather such a nice audience! Plus the cover is wonderful!

I m a boomer and I saw many of those bands including the Beatles--but never saw BS
-although I was stationed at NortonAFB and I recall them playing at the swing adutorium in the mid 60s, before I went to Nam. It is so wonderful to see young people latching on to the good music we had
I was 14 when this song first played on AM radio. I‘ve been listening to it for well over 50 years. Believe me, you guys are really, really good!
Yep, they nailed it .
Just came across this in my recommended and I think this is the best sounding cover of any song I've ever heard. I've listened to the original many times and this cover sounds fantastic. Well done
Agreed
Ive just come across this channel and been sat here for a hour listening to them, they are brilliant
Brilliant
For anyone that plays music that "one more!" at the end of the song is the universal feeling that we all share lol! Incredible guys thank you for sharing!
There’s just something indescribable about hitting a sweet harmony or riff with friends, am I right?
Well said ✌️
Well done, guys! Memory for me is playing this tune during a four-month tour (civilian musicians) of South Vietnam in summer of 1969. Our contract was clear about not playing "protest" songs. We were only 16 and 17 years old and we had a road manager. Snuck this song in every gig - road manager never twigged on to it. LOL.
You have the only channel that I always like before I even hear the song 😁
For a second I thought the bass player was playing the drum...
I thought so too. Till I saw this comment
Optical illusion together with superb music. What do you want more? 😎
Me too.
Flappysamyhamy right me too!!
lol...I did too, through the whole video. I was thinking, DAMN that bass player has strong fingers to be playing all hammer-ons with his left hand!
2:01 that moment when the guy without instruments smiles and represent all the people who are watching this piece of art
Timely. Great the kids are in loo of the current muzik indi suckn digging these old tunes.
THANK YOU FOR THIS, AS A 63 YEAR OLD MAN, I GREW UP LISTENING TO THIS SONG, YOU GUYS DID IT PERFECT, AWESOME, WOW, I HAVE LISTENED TO IT NOW 4 TIMES AND I AM GONNA LISTEN SOME MORE,THANKS AGAIN.....

I love that Bob Sale is in these videos, he lived it! Go Bob!!
It's good to see younger people understanding the music we played back in the 60s
they could play this in the streets everyday

I'm glad you guys chose this one. One of my favorites from my 70s childhood. Well done boys.
Every time you get the whole group together, it’s like magic. Well done!

Great Video!
Leif Schmidt,
((hugs))
Though it's commonly taken that way, it's not a protest of the Vietnam conflict.

That was really tight. Thanks from posting...
Nice as always! And the telecaster is spot on!
Well, this is an easy Subscribe. Josh Turner, dude, you have incredible chops. This song was released when I was 14 - I'm about to be 66 - and For What It's Worth is one of the defining songs of my life. Tonight I was searching for renditions of this song for a personal interest thingy and came across Josh Turner & Co. Wow. As a musician (keys) I know the nuances in the original Stills' guitar track and Mr. Turner has just shown me there is phenom talent out there. Such a great version.
That was awesome! Great vibe, great playing and great vocals! You guys made my day!
Stephen Stills is SO your voice. There hasn't been one mediocre cover. They have ALL been superior (as are your originals) Just love them all :)
