Also a great example of the untapped potential in a VY v8
I'm cracking 200rwkw in a sv6 with cams/tune. But my torque curve is no where near as flat as that.
My wife's VY SS makes a ton power more with just an exhaust, intake and tune. Clearly I'll have to add nitrous to my VE :D
I guess the biggest disadvantage is needing to disconnect the bottle on the street...
But none of you need that power on the street... Right?

When installing wet nitrous system to a completely stock naturally aspirated car (including ECU) with a restrictive exhaust system (cat, resonator, silencer) is there any precautions one should take? I am kind of worried that I would blow out the cats or car would lean itself to death even with a fuel jet.

What afr should I target for a sr20ve NA on 100hp nitrous dry kit , built block , head has springs and retainer kit

About $130 to refill a 10lb bottle, 10s per pound at 100hp rate, so you will get about 100 seconds of use from a full 10lb bottle.

  • @alchemyengineering2232

I don't fully understand the physics behind the nitrous filling the intake manifold during rev limiter as the throttle is wide open and the cylinders would be taking in the same amount of air (roughly) from the manifold at 6000rpm vs 5750rpm when it shuts off no?
Would the nitrous not go through the cylinders unburnt just like the air/fuel mixture would if under ignition cut? Because the valves are still opening and the pistons still creating vacuum in the cylinders.
Basically why does rev limiter cause the nitrous to sit in the manifold and not go through the engine? I understand it's a waste of the nitrous and has no performance benefit at rev limiter I'm not trying to argue that at all lol purely trying to understand what's said at 13:30 . I've never had a car on a dyno or done any tuning before so have no practical experience of the engine's conditions under rev limiter.
    Thanks :)

Typically you really only need to pull 1 degree for every 100-150hp so there's a little room for more power there. Often with as low as a 50 shot, you can get away with not pulling any timing (still add fueling of course) a turbo and nitrous application for 50-100 I would pull about 2 degrees still.
