- I refer to, of course, Lost Judgment's the Kaito Files. Unsurprisingly, RGG Studio have knocked my socks off yet again with Lost Judgment, although this time around I get to at least stare at the most handsome man in the series. Also, Hoshino in sick sunnies and Higashi in a swag apron.
If you can buy it, buy it. If you can't then I once again offer to the less fortunate my most sincere lol and my most humble pointing and laughing.

Love how this DLC proved that Kaito could be a legitimately great protagonist. It just seems like he wasn’t taken seriously in the community, but The Kaito Files proved that he could carry his own game.

Man I laughed so hard at the "Dickhead's & Associates" joke. Honestly though, I think it's great we finally got a proper type of Yakuza expansion. Obviously some people dislike DLC, but in my opinion, if it means I get an extra 10 hours of story with a unique twist on it (namely playing as Kaito here) and that releases 6 months after the original game (rather than waiting 12+ months for a new game), then I'm all for it (unless they start charging like $80 AUD for it, then I'm dipping bruh).
Great video man, it was cool to see you do a review-style video. Hopefully Sega sees something like this and hands you an early copy of Yakumza: Like 2 Dragons or whatever they end up calling it.

@@geraldthegoose1685 basically the talent agency for the Japanese actor of Yagami 'own the rights to him' so they have always been very, very stingy with his face appearing in various things. Examples include a press release for the original Judgment where they literally just greyed him out (like in my thumbnail) or how they refuse to let the games be on PC because people can mod his face (even though you can do that on console it's just harder). So yeah, I'm calling them dickhead's because that's what they are haha

@@pockigit7668 There is a mission in like a dragon gaiden where u meet kaito and he tells joryu that the dragon of dojima was his hero growing up.
People forgot that Kaito's damn strong considering that he splattered a younger Yamagi when he first met him consistently DESPITE Yagami himself having martial arts training prior to his dad's assassination.
Not only that, he could often hold his ground against swaths of enemy without Yagami's help. That's commendable.

Im super glad a character got a full, no strings attached, happy ending. That entire boss fight with evil man the cutscenes had me freaking out because it looked like they were setting up so many common RGG tropes. Also the main villain is probably (one of) the most pure evil antagonist in the series so far.

I was waiting for the usual offscreen shooter moment, villains picks up the gun after heroes turn around moment, the sacrifice moment, the "i'll leave her in your hands" moment, etc
Can't wait for Harsh Judgment with Kaito as the main character!
That being said, Kaito should've been available to use in premium adventure, Yagami could've exchanged with him at their office seeing as how he is asleep all the time in the chair.
When will that Yakuza/Judgment coop game be? They have a strong duo here they should give it a try at least!

This was some top tier stuff for their first (good) DLC. I was hooked the minute I started playing and I’d love to see them make (good) DLC more often! Made me love Kaito even more as a character

It might just be the effect of playing as a side character. Just look at how many times Majima loses.
He wasn't even a controllable character in the main games, dude. And since he is not only controllable but the main chara here, no one would have bought this DLC if he didn't get all the upgrades and boost that came with the role.

The point of games is to have playable charas and especially the main one be able to kick ass. And if they can't it's only due to plot. Kaito wasn't playable chara in judgment, therefore he didn't get to kick ass there. Mbetting if Yagami gets relgated to being AI-controlled, his abilities are going to be watered down.

Finished it yesterday night, it was amazing, had a blast from start to finish. While it does not contain side cases or such, the main story has more than enough meat to keep you occupied for a decent amount of time.

I just going to say this broo.... the last 2 final bosses are the main reason why I love this franchise
Haven't completed lost judgment yet but i can't wait that right after i finish it i can get even more fun ass content.
This is a pretty good DLC. Absolutely better than the Majima saga. The story and bosses are good. There are some flaws though.
- There's no Premium Adventure and NG+ modes after completing the game.
- The tailing mission during chapter 3 really overstays it's welcome and gets boring.
- Some of the search sections are frustrating.
- The price tag is a little too ridiculous. $30 for a 8-10 hour expansion should've been $20.
And this is another issue which I hope they fix is that for some reason the trophies won't sync to your PSN account in the PS4 version.
But overall it's good and I hope to see more expansions in future Yakuza games.
I didn't even realise the price of it TBH because I got the ultimate edition so long ago. But yeah, that tailing mission is uhhh something. Let's not talk about it lol

@Mr. Marvin I enjoyed the Majima saga in Kiwami 2 for the most part as it is a nice conclusion to his story with Makato but what really bothered me is that you couldn't upgrade or unlock any new moves for Majima and he has barely any variety in the heat actions as he only seems to have like 2 or 3 at most unless im missing something? So its a shame that the Majima saga content wasn't fleshed out more but to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios's credit at least we didn't have to pay for it as additional DLC .
The Kaito DLC for Lost Judgment is pretty damn good and some of the best DLC the developers have put out so far so even though its a tad steeper in price than I would have liked, I still felt that the DLC was worth the money so its a huge step in the right direction for future games getting expansions like this.
Majima Saga wasn‘t DLC it was included in the base game for free. This is the first story DLC in the Yakuza franchise and it‘s very good in my opinion. Price is also ok if you consider that Siderman Miles Morales and Uncharted Lost Legacy are also around 10 hours and got sold as full price seperate games. Of course lower prices are always better, but if I look at Sony, Ubisoft and EA DLCs this one is heaven on earth.

Kaito is awesome! I’m only about 3/4 through the first Judgment which is my first “Yakuza” game, but I’m already really excited to play this DLC.

I loved Kaito having his own story. I wish Higashi was more involved though.

The only thing I'm mad about is that Kaito forgot how to do the Dragon King Kick
That and the fact that he doesn't have a quick getup attack and he feels as if he's lacking in defence a little bit but leeeet's ignore those a little bit.
Fun fact: EX boost in spanish was translated to "EX rage" which is much better in my opinion.

I got this a month or two after it came out, when i finished the main game. Easily one of the best purchases I've made in recent times, I had so much fun with LJ as a whole, but getting to play as Kaito was truly something else.

I wasn’t really following the DLC news and when I saw it was out I gasped that they wanted 30 of my freedom dollars when I expected half that (no reason why I just wasn’t paying attention.) Is it really worth half of the base game? Might pick it up if the price drops

I give this dlc an 8/10. Didnt care for more tailing and detective missions; really breaks the pace of the games. Kaitos a fun character but I wouldn't replace Yagami with him, Yagami is just more versatile. Of course the story is fantastic, everything weaves together. I really dig Judgements final bosses being knife weilding psychopaths.
Hopefully we get to play as both in future games
Kaito is versatile too, he also knows boxing so probably in the next game they will give him his 3rd style.

The DLC actually ends with a 30 minute dance off between Kaito and all the past villains from all the games so it’s pretty lit

I have no idea either but I did them at some point lol. I think though one of the Tank attacks can inflict agony but I’m unsure
They did return but the new bullshit ones were still in it too. I definitely had it happen once anyway (played on hard first).

would never happen. main reason is cuz it would have kiryu harming women and thats a hardline stance the director has taken for since the series started. kiryu has never and will never be put into a situation where he must harm a woman.

i also found yagami not being anywhere in the game a bit weird. i expected him to at least be shown at the end/the credits. is it really because of j&a, or is it because it's not worth it to make kimura voice act like 2 lines? sounds like a dumb theory, but maybe they're preparing to recast him since j&a sucks balls? might just be overthinking this, though. i like the ending, such a nice change of pace from the usual endings that we have. though, i don't really like how the entire plot was revealed in 1 car ride. anyways, mikiko is pretty hot.
I think it’s a combination of J&A being douchebags about the game but also that in the DLC there’s a total of like 5 voice actors across the entire thing to save costs. And considering Genda and Yagami are absent, I would assume one of the costs of their appearance would probably just be having their face in the game at all. There’s also the Charles employee who normally is based off of a real dude but in the scene where Kaito stops by it’s a new woman which, again, was most likely to save costs (although he comes back later but doesn’t talk and is just idle there as an NPC). So yeah, probably just them being economic I guess lmao
As far as I read, this is in fact the end of the judgement series entirely because of Johnny's. I would imagine this souring means that they probably couldn't even get Kimura if they wanted to. The best Sega has said, is that they have more in store for judgement fans down the line, but not a new judgement game, if that makes sense.

Actually good news. The Judgment series will thankfully NOT end. According to Masayoshi Yokoyama, who is literally the Ryo Ga Gotoku studio director, RGG studios will continue the series in which he said they will take “great care” with the series itself. This was in a conversation with Famitsu in November of 2021 (the last and recent credible article that ever talked about Judgment) which is a Japanese video games magazine. Although, it’s important to note that he didn’t say anything about Judgment 3 being in development as of now. However, we can somewhat be at ease since the studio director of RGG himself said the Judgment series will be in great care. But if there isn’t a 3rd Judgment with Yagami, ima cry. And if the series somehow gets cancelled which is unlikely, ima cry harder. 🥲

Only complaint is how absolutely broken Bruiser’s deflect ability is. Though, it’s more of a power trip than an actual complaint. I love being OP to the point it hurts. Plus, I played normal mode, which is pretty easy, considering that the Yakuza games are probably the games that I’m the best in

Yeah it’s pretty worth if you’re able to put forward the money. It’s not like you’re missing out on all too much by not playing it but if you enjoyed the core gameplay of Lost Judgment then it’s very fun for something different and for a new Yakuza experience that isn’t a completely new game. Up to you, really, but I just enjoy beating people up as Kaito lol
this game plsu dlc made me think that a yakuza kiwami 3 that has kiryu's styles from 0 plus the style switching and other mechanics from lost judgement would be fun, they could even give kiryu's styles extreme heat modes, take brawler and beast from kaito, because obviously, rush could be boxer, and maybe, just maybe, if they have both the classic dod and dod reborn, the classic one could have dragon's rage from yakuza 5
They could but the whole point of kiryu is that he mastered to his main style after he got older and never needed to used the other ones since yakuza 2

So, do we take that this DLC *might* be an experiment of how well Kaito could handle the series on his own in case Himura's turdwad agency stop being an issue for Sega's PC expansion and let Kaito take the lead of the further Judgment series? Well, I can say Kaito has enough charisma and style to do it. This DLC was purely brilliant.
I've finished the DLC and I must say it's pretty good.
Just wished there was side cases or some kind of side content. It's basically a story DLC.
Unfortunately boss themes are not as memorable as in the main story, but that was predictable.
The price is ridiculous tho. TW3 DLC's were at 20€. Just saying
