    Bought my glass and kit from you guys and fitted mine today.
    Took about 4 hrs to do a sliding door with carpet too.
    Very happy with the quality and finish, video was very useful 👍🏻

    What's the recommend height of bead, just thinking about cutting the nozzle correctly?

    Cheers just fitted a fake blackout to righthand side and then cut out left slider door & fitted a privacy window. Will need to get it tinted to match up but otherwise great stuff & kit.

      Hello. The fake windows are the same tint (82% tint so 18% light) but as they are fully printed on the back, there is zero light traveling though which straight on, will make them appear darker.

    What masking tape would you recommend?

    Great vid guys. Can I ask: does that Bosch shears tool flush cut against the internal skin or do you have to finish off the final few mm with the snips?
    Thanks!

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před rokem +1

      You can get it close enough, but the snips give a better, closer finish

    Hi, Is it the same logic for a VW Caddy Maxi ? I've just bought my glass from you....

    Thanks guys, i fitted mine today but though I was being clever and masked up the edges to stop and running or excess primer getting on the paint. After I removed to my horror the primer soaked and boed behind the masking tape 😐 I tried to scrape it off but it started to remove paint :/ Is there anyway to remove primer from paint around the windows please? Thanks.

    When is best to carpet? Is it after cutting out the metal, carpet and then fit the window?

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      Where possible, cut the hole, then carpet, then fit the window

    Hey, how did you get rid of metal chips coming from the filing?

    • @THQAutomotive

      Vacuum and then a decent iron fall out chemical

    great video as I want to put a window in mine but PLEASE lose the music as it drowns out what you are saying :(((

  • @UrbanExplorer614
    @UrbanExplorer614 Před rokem

    Good video but shame you didn't show how to do it with tools that people would probably have. How about doing one with jigsaws, angle grinders etc. You sell DIY windows, so show a DIY method. 👈

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před rokem +1

      I wouldn't do it with a jigsaw or angle grinder. We do sell snips for the DIY installer

    • @UrbanExplorer614
      @UrbanExplorer614 Před rokem

      @@THQAutomotive I know you wouldn't use those tools as you have better.
      Just look at the hundreds of youtube videos of DIYers and you will see that they do though.
      You are showing a method your customers won't be using.
      If you recommend tin snips that you sell, then show that, not a 300 quid set of electric ones nobody owns.

      @@UrbanExplorer614 we do? 🤷🏻‍♂️ @2:23

    • @UrbanExplorer614
      @UrbanExplorer614 Před rokem

      @@THQAutomotive Sorry but that's a feeble attempt to try and make me look stupid. A five second tidy up with tin snips is not a video showing the whole job with them.
      No matter how you try to spin it, this is not a DIY method as it is not using average DIY tools.
      This video is a pro company showing how a pro company does it with pro tools.
      I'm really not sure what the difficulty is admitting this. Why would a customer spend 300 quid on a tool when they can get a pro to fit them for that.
      Why not actually help your customers and put another video up. This time show how to do it with the tools people have in an average shed/workshop.

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před rokem +1

      @@UrbanExplorer614 can't please everyone. We show how to cut with snips, It surprises me you'd need to see a whole video using this? It's very similar to using a pair of scissors (but snips and metal instead) You just use the snips, where we use the metal cutting tool) You're the first person to mention it in 70,000 views. This isn't a video to show you how to use tools, it's where to cut and how to fix the window in. Where you cut is the same, it's just your personal choice of tool. Maybe speak to the company you intend to buy your windows off, for them to do your a personal cutting guide for your choice off tools. I'm sorry our videos aren't useful for you. Good luck with your build.
