Go behind the scenes with Ghostlight Records and the cast of Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of She Loves Me!
She Loves Me is a heartwarming musical comedy classic about finding love the good old-fashioned way. It follows Georg (Zachary Levi) and Amalia (Laura Benanti), two parfumerie clerks who aren’t quite the best of friends. Constantly bumping heads while on the job, the sparring coworkers can’t seem to find common ground. But little do they know, the anonymous romantic pen pals they have both been falling for happen to be each other! Will love continue to blossom once their identities are finally revealed?
Tony Award winner Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi, Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel, Byron Jennings, Tony Award winner Michael McGrath and Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski star in this new Broadway production of She Loves Me. Also starring Peter Bartlett, the cast features Nicholas Barasch and ensemble members Cameron Adams, Alison Cimmet, Justin Bowen, Preston Truman Boyd, Benjamin Eakeley, Sara Edwards, Michael Fatica, Gina Ferrall, Jenifer Foote, Andrew Kober, Laura Shoop, Jim Walton.
Directed by Scott Ellis and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, with music direction by Paul Gemignani, the Broadway revival of She Loves Me includes book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Book, based on a play by Miklos Laszlo. Orchestrations are by Larry Hochman and dance arrangements & incidental music is by David Krane. The design team includes David Rockwell (Sets), Jeff Mahshie (Costumes), Don Holder (Lights), Jon Weston (Sound).

When Laura mentions playing this for her children and their children, and you realize that she knew that she was pregnant! That just makes the video that much more real for me! Congratulations Laura!!!!!! Your gonna be a great mom!

This high note wasnt composed by Bock and Harnick but Barbara Cook sang it in the first performance of the song and was added by the composers. As happened in Candide Barbara helped the composers .

Nah. This is NOT a big screen show. It has to stay intimate and small. This will never play at Radio City Music Hall or the Metropolitan Opera. Note that in all its Broadway productions, it has always been stage in the smaller theaters.

I don't know why Laura B. doesn't hold that high note just a bit longer. That bothered me slightly, when I watched the broadcast on BroadwayHD. Lord knows she's able, and I think it would be better. But, that's a small quibble, weighed against all the glories here. Don't know if this will displace the '90s revival recording or the original cast recording, as a favorite, but I will enjoy it, for sure.

I heard this cd.Its faster than the 1963 Original cast ;Laura Benanti is excelent as Amalia but who can compete with Barbara Cook in one of her best performances Dianne Frantantoni in the 1993 cast was good but.for me Barbara still owns the role.Jane Krakowsky is for me better than Barbara Baxleyh and Sally Mayers in the 1963 and 1993 recordings, funny and a better singer.I cant choose a Georg.Zachary Levy and Boyd Gaynes in the 1993 cast(Tony award best actor for his role) are better singers thanthe 1963 Georg Daniel Massey but his perffromance inthe role was perfect. But no one is better than Jack Cassidy as Kodaly a role that gave him the \Tony in 1964.Gacvin creel and Howard Mc Gillin were good but Cassidy is the best,. The1963 OBC is still my favorite but this comes near.Listen
