Nope. Unless it’s for better understanding the Protestant arguments for the purpose of correcting misinterpretation. That may be fruitful for Catholics who study Apologetics.

My hope would be that Catholics first read it *as Catholics.* My case is that this is our shared history. Half the texts are Catholic texts. To not even read and engage with these texts is to be in an important sense, uncatholic. It's the reverse of a common Protestant error, which ignorant Protestants believe their church "started" in the 1500s, this would be to say the Catholic Church "stopped" or "skipped" the 1500-1600s.

Catholics are not Christians, my friend.

Modern Protestants are not true Christians. Catholics and the early Churches are the preservation of Christs ministry.
Are you so deluded to believe all mainstream Christians and Church fathers were incorrect for 1500 years? Most modern protestants rebel against Luther, Calvin and other reformers by negating the Eucharist, Mary’s perpetual virginity, intercession of Saints, Holy Sacraments etc.
The fruits of Protestantism are 1million denominations, heresy, and schism.

      What's a Christian?

That's like saying Christians are not Christians. Just because your mother was a horrible catholic does not mean that all Catholics in existence are not Christian.

We’re the original and authentic Christians, actually. It’s Protestants (ie, non-Catholic Christians) who are heterodox and follow traditions of men.

@sandra4065 Really? According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the "sacred Tradition" that you follow (instead of Jesus' word), salvation comes through water Baptism ("Yet the GRACE of Baptism delivers NO ONE" - 978) and Penance ("a LABORIOUS kind of baptism" - 980) to a sinner, a priest. Both of these Sacraments are "necessary for salvation" according to Rome. (980)
Really? What did Jesus say in John 14:6? He the "Lamb of God who [took] away the sin of the world," (John 1:29) said:
"I am the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through Me."(John 14:6)
And Peter, the so-called first Pope in Catholicism, (an obvious lie frome the Catholic Church) said of the "NAME of Jesus Christ of Nazareth"(v.10), "NOR is there SALVATION in ANY OTHER, for there is NO OTHER NAME UNDER heaven GIVEN AMONG MEN by which we MUST BE SAVED.”(Acts 4:12)
So, that leaves out the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Baptism does nothing for you! --->> "YET the GRACE of Baptism DELIVERS NO ONE from ALL the weakness of nature. On the contrary, we must still combat the movements of concupiscence that never cease leading us into evil."(Catechism 978) Penance is not "necessary for salvation."
      Who delivers?
      Jesus DELIVERS!!!
"And every priest [CATHOLIC PRIEST] stands ministering DAILY and offering repeatedly the SAME sacrifices, [SACRAMENTS] which can NEVER take away sins. But this Man [Jesus], after He had OFFERED ONE SACRIFICE for SINS FOREVER, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His ENEMIES are made His FOOTSTOOL. For by one offering He has PERFECTED forever THOSE who are being SANCTIFIED."(Hebrews 10:11-14)
You are an enemy of God and you don't even know it!
