  • Follow along as we complete the BSC Cafe Racer Conversion Kit for a customer of ours. Our customer is 6'5' and 225 lbs.
    This kit is a bolt on kit that BSC feel would have been a great factory option for taller riders.
    This kit will allow for a very comfortable ride for our taller riders, allowing for up to 8" of extra room. This turns the V-Rod Muscle into a solo rider bike but we also offer a direct stock replacement that fits your stock fender that will get you back in the sattle 1". If you require more room we recommend the full Cafe Racer Kit.
    If you have specific questions please don't hesitate to call us!

    I've heard from multiple people that you guys make great seats! It would be cool it you did another video showing what you would do for a shorter rider.

    This bike is absolutely awesome looking. It's just low enough and that seat looks like it should've been OEM as smooth as it looks on the bike. I wish your shop was near Tennessee.

    When I read “Cafe Racer” I thought mid controls. I’m 5’6” on an 09 Muscle and the ability to use more of my core muscles to control the bike would really open up some opportunities on the Dragon.

    Paul I agree, although when you got your v rod I bet you changed the pipes, wheel, pegs, bars etc. It's in our nature to customise bikes to make them "ours", so saying that, if someone wants to make a V - Racer then so be it ey. all to thier own and all of that. The same as those that buy a night rod because they like it blacked out but then put all the muscle kit on. 🤷‍♂️

      I've heard multiple people on the 1130 forum recommend getting budman's pullback riser for people our height (5'8" here). Most people say just that bar adjustment fixes the problem. If not, Altered State makes a 3" peg reduction to move the pegs closer to you too. Hope this helps!

    Do you or your customers ever sell the old vrod muscle pieces like the seat and tail end?

      Unfortunately we do not resell the old parts. Our customers usually take the parts back. Some may resell them online.

    Cool bike, but I don’t think you know what a cafe racer is. They were stock usually British bikes that were lightened by removing unnecessary stuff and modeled after early road race bikes. The Vrod was a factory pro street bike modeled after drag bikes. Totally different concept!

    Hi,
    Beautiful work!
    Where can I find the forward control kit for V-rod muscle?

      You need to look up Keith Mecelhinney at Altered State Design. He makes all of our Extended and Upgrade V-Rod Foot Controls in which we use in conjunction to our conversion kits and our High Quality Custom Leather 1 Piece Seats for this application when needed.

    Oh man, who's idea was it to try and turn a VRod Muscle into a cafe racer.....ridiculous idea. VRod owners all over the world, including myself are shaking their heads in disbelief. The glorious VRod into a tacky cafe racer....no class whatsoever.

    • @bitchinseatco
      @bitchinseatco  Před 6 lety +3

      We respect your opinion but the original reason for the BSC Cafe Racer Kit was for taller riders that enjoyed the VRod style. We are able to give taller people a lot more room with this kit. Also other riders have different opinions and enjoy the look of the cafe racer. Saying certain people have no class is not very classy either my friend.

    • @paulshearer9140
      @paulshearer9140 Před 6 lety

      bitchinseatco my apologies if I offended you, yes it is simply my humble opinion. I will also correct myself and say that you are doing is not lacking in style but rather in taste. Having said that I am 6.2" and have had no problems on my VRod Muscle. Surely there must be some other way to modify a VRod for really tall guys other than turning them into cafe racers? Mate its like putting a tutu on Conor McGregor. Simply my humble opinion.

    • @bitchinseatco
      @bitchinseatco  Před 6 lety +2

      No offense taken. We are simply trying to provide riders of all size who love their VROD the opportunity to ride comfortably. It all depends on the inseam of the customer. I understand your 6'2" but if you have a longer torso than inseam then it would not affect you as much as someone with longer legs than torso. Most taller VROD riders knees hang out wide. Which causes them to catch wind and made the ride a bit uncomfortable. Our custom VROD seat allows the the rider to sit a little further back and have a lower center of gravity for a more comfortable ride. There are other options instead of going the cafe racer route. If one did our custom VROD seat with the extended foot controls that we recommend it would work for most slightly taller riders. If they still need more room then we recommend the cafe racer kit which could potentially get them up to 8" of extra room. Imagine youre 6'8 and love your VROD but just can't fit on it properly. That is where this kit shines.
