- In his sermon on Sunday morning, Aug. 20, 2017, at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, Senior Pastor George Mason addressed the debate over Confederate statues and memorials. He spoke in the context of a sermon based on the Genesis 45 account of Joseph revealing himself to his brothers in Egypt.
Makes sense that he's not nationally known because he speaks truth. I respect anyone who speaks truth period.
Keep preaching unity pastor. If you don’t get your reward on earth you will receive an even greater reward in heaven. We are mandated to stand for justice No Matter the cost. We are to stand for right In Season and Out of Season. My only question pastor is why is your congregation still not integrated?? That is how you can create true change, by inviting diverse people to your congregation.
I go to a mixed race church. Trust me, it's harder to do than you think. We have over 100 nations represented at my church. It was probably 75% white 25% everyone else. 10 years later those numbers have switched. A lot of factors go into that. Not just the pastor knocking on doors inviting black people to come visit.

This pastor raises an interesting question. Where are all of the statues of Harriet Tubman, white abolitionist, Frederick Douglas, etc?
I hope he has somebody to protect him. People don't want to hear this kind of truth and may try to silence him.
He's a true man of God. Jesus is his protection. Only he will dertermine his last day here.

I still say statues oppress no one...I'm a southerner who's ancestors fought for union and Confederate causes... faught in ww1,ww2, and Vietnam ...we are of Irish extraction originally and a statue of Oliver Cromwell doesn't oppress me, and lord knows what him and his English ilk did to the Irish was just as evil and bad as what happened to the blacks.
James Gillespie here's the funny thing about white people in America and their pretend patriotism...you go around the world starting wars and then when you " win" you pull down statues and flags of the defeated armies and you say that that is what's happens to losers. Then you get back to Murikkka and ride around in your pick up trucks with that stupid confederate flag, a losing flag at that, and say it represents heritage. You complain about the winners of the war wanting to get rid of statues and that stupid flag and you forget what you say about the flags and statues that you have taken down around the world. White people are some of the biggest hypocrites to ever walk the earth....
Not as bad you know your family name religion and where you came from who your great great and add a few greats and you can come up with someone we can't some slave name buck cut off from everything and told it does not matter , maybe some young black person would not do or think as they do if they knew that someone in their family did great things and you can too not family tales but a real person but can't do it history stolen by slave owners if you don't know who you were you don't know who you are and you act out
