I’m not sure how fast the A-class loaded trucks go maybe around 45 in the 750 foot but the bobtails will go around 70-75 MPH in the 550 foot on a really good run.
I've been to many drag strips in my 70 years, I've never seen the starter standing in front of the vehicles, past the tree. One day someone's going to break the kingpin, or an axle and the guy is going to wish he hadn't been standing there.
@@drag.race.god7316 Lots of turbo drag cars, they stage after they are spooled up, the starter never stands in front of the cars. This is almost as bad as the street race clowns starting the race with a flashlight.
@@Userqwerty349 - I know that the promods and turbo cars are spooled at the line but they have anti-lag so it only takes maybe 5-6 seconds to spool. Some of these trucks take over a minute. 146mm turbos don’t spool fast.

He has to stand there because not only does he control the lights but he also has to make sure that both trucks are spooled up and ready to go!

I’m not sure but I think they only have this event 2 times a year so you can check on their website or Facebook.
Their event is every memorial day weekend
