- Doddington Park is 5km south of Nantwich in Cheshire. The Hall was rebuilt between 1777 and the 1790s to designs by Samuel Wyatt. At the same time the grounds were improved, probably to a design by Lancelot Brown. Estate building continued during the 19th century, but changes to the Hall were very few.
During the Second World War it was utilised as a transit camp for Polish refugees. After the War the Hall was used for many years as a girls' school. By the late 1980s the school had left and since 1997 it has stood empty.
A castle dating from the 13th century lies to the north of the current hall. - Zábava
The house looks a sad relic. I attended the girls school that closed in the late 80s for lack of funds. The rose gardens were so beautiful. What a history it has. Lord Delves Broughton was an occasional spectre that walked the grounds. Thank you for the pictures. They brought back memories of long walks to the chapel and the village sweet shop on a Saturday.
It looks so lost destitute and abandoned. . Who owns iT

Very sad to see the old school in such decay. I was there in the 1960's and remember the old copper beech tree which is no longer. How can such a lovely old house be left to rot? There must be many ghosts wandering around and I feel sure you can still hear the eerie laughter of the girls from days gone by!
Hello, my grandparents live in doddington park farm oppisite the manor house! :)
My grandfather was head gardener around 1914
My farther Derrick Edwards grew up on the estate and lived in one of the servants terrace houses, does anyone still have a connection with the estate? Also another relative, Desmond lived in the right hand gatehouse. I understand he purchased the property after winning on spot the ball.
Does any one knows what is happening to the house. I thought that Isabella Blows mother bought the estate back and is now renovating the house?
my old girls school......how sad, I had great memories there
