I think that all minecraft players are best at there own thing, though some folks are quite good at multiple things but lack in other parts. Take Mumbo Jumbo, who is great at redstone, minecraft mechanics, and buildings (even though he usually is very critical of his builds) but isn't the best at pvp (or maybe he is but we just haven't seen that yet). Also just because you're great at pvp does not make you one of the best overall players, but only one of the best in the aforementioned category. It's all personally subjective really.

Etho literally changes the game behind the scenes. Idk how he’s not mainstream but I’m sort of glad he’s not. I feel like Etho becoming super mainstream could really kill his tradition not so much from him but from his community he’s made
That's true, almost as true as the fact that Etho never tells us to subscribe to his channel at the end of his videos, so it's a more genuine reassurance for Etho that he has true supporters ^^
Definitely, Etho has one of if not the most consistent fans I’ve ever seen. I think that’s one of the main reasons Etho can also be consistent in his style and also just be comfortable with his current community

Etho is far and above the most influential player because of how much the game evolved around him. His inventions, LP builds, and old UHC videos revolutionized the game like nobody had ever done. Basically the day hoppers were released he created a tamagotchi pet in his LP, probably the most technical and complicated red stone project for years in the community. I’d definitely go him

I think present day Etho (October-November 2021) finally deserves to earn that title, mostly because of Last life. Everyone in that series feared him because of his strength, which in my eyes places him on tier 2 pvp. Which of course completes the 3 categories giving him the title “Best Minecrafter”
On top of that he has managed to cultivate am incredibly wholesome and loyal fan base/community making atleast the best Minecraft youtuber. (Dream's community is lacking, its also probably just significantly younger and less mature which is admittedly a common problem for gaming youtubers)

To be fair they fear the havoc he caused in old Minecraft PvP. Even he admits he sucks and is uninterested in newer Minecraft combat

he's not good enough at pvp. he'd have to start some kind of bedwars or pvp series or start speedrunning (and be good at it) to be considered at least tier 2. imo he is tier 1 in redstone because he can basically make whatever he puts his mind to, and he is definitely tier 2 in building as shown in his LP series

Tbh I'm not even biased but Etho was the only real answer for the best. he's great at pvp judging from how other CZcamsrs fear him and he quite literally revolutionized Redstone. plus his builds speak for themselves

Legend! You may not be the best at pvp or parkour, but I have said from the get go ur the best technical and most knowledgeable minecrafter :)
I'm not an Etho fan, haven't seen much of his content... But he's so well known in the community, and always spoken of highly. He's famous enough that one of the April Fools updates even added a TNT slab called the "Etho Slab." He's been playing for a long time, has revolutionized redstone multiple times over, and I'd say he's definitely deserving of the title "Best Minecrafter."
I feel like Joel (smallishbeans) should be mentioned in the building category because he is super well rounded, has attention to detail, and has great designs and ideas. Although I do understand how long this video would be if every great builder was mentioned, but I feel like he is as good as scar and grian.
He also is good at pvp he should be lika a tier 3 or 4.
He's not as good as grian and that lot, because he's not on hermitcraft. It's not a gathering of the best builders intentionally, but it also kinda is. A number of seasons have started whilst he's been big and still is, but was not invited to them, indicating that he is not good enough. But he should be in my opinion, but there must be something holding X and the hermits back. Def tier 2
Joel is a tier 1 builder and he's decent at pvp, But I think he lacks skill in the Redstone category.

Joel learned from Bdubs and Scar as he mentioned in his videos. So putting him in the builder list would make the list never-ending as there are a lot more people who are better than him (PearlescentMoon for instance) and FWhip. Bdubs I think should be the one here instead of maybe Grian.
Etho is that one kid who is good at sports, art and maths...
And it's not really at the top of none of those, but he still is very balanced. Good way to put it, maybe that's the way of succeding

While we haven't seen much of Etho's PvP skills, we have seen him excel at PvE combat by soloing some of the hardest CTM maps that were available at the time.

Honestly, Bdubs makes a solid candidate. He’s an excellent builder, I’d even put him as a T1 builder. He’s got above average knowledge of redstone/ technical side of Minecraft. Also his pvp is at least average . Dude can go on a rampage when he wants to
As much as I love Grian, Bdubs and pearl deserve a much higher ranking than him in terms of building skill, he’s just not the best but is more popular which makes sense why he’s on there

Guiness is about the money. It costs a ridiculous amount to even get them to consider you. 3 people could have the best record... but player 4 could be the one that could afford to submit it.. so player 4 would get the record and the credit
The reason Hermitcraft excels is because it's a lot of redstone and building with various pvp and traps. I personally feel like now in 2022 that Grian, Philza, or Etho are now the best contenders. Grian has improved in pvp skills, building skills, and has been working largely on redstone. Philza has shown ability to build decently, has shown decent 1.8 pvp and very good modern pvp, possibly tier 1, and has shown technical abilities to some extent that is probably around tier 2. The problem with Philza is generally more overall tier 2 than others. Etho for the same reasons.

If we’re talking building, it’s WITHOUT A DOUBT, goodtimewithscar. His amazing attention to detail and ability to make builds that hold up on both the tiny and massive scale is unmatched. No one matches his ability in building. As for technical, it’s probably ilmango or possibly even docM.
For building: just hire a professional modeller, voxel his model and transfer it into Minecraft.
For redstone: hire a circuitry engineer. The computer in Minecraft that was made functions most identically to a standard computer, just with more space constraints that make building screens kind of annoying.
in my opinion goodtimeswithscar is THE BEST BUILDER. I was surprised when DocM didn't come up because he is good at the game breaking bits
Being a fan of Scar I still think Bdubz and Pearl are on his level of building. Also Pearl is a good PVPer and Bdubz is decent with redstone.
@@KarahKat True, although DocM77 is very open about the "hivemind" behind a lot of the game breaking insanity he loves; that he is "merely" showcasing exploits and techniques developed by his SciCraft friends and other players who are less interested in making videos. Of course, he's got to have a high level of understanding and skill to do so, especially since he's also breaking down the concepts into layman's level for his viewers, but most of the stuff people associate with Doc patently isn't just his "invention". God tier (Goat tier?) crediting, for sure, though. And grind. 😁

Without even watching its Etho, great builder, a great redstoner and while he doesn’t do any PVP anymore, he was so so good like 5+ years ago. Hit bow shots from 100 blocks away more consistently than anyone else I’ve ever seen, if he got back into it I am sure he could be feared and revered once again. Plus he is one of the most creative players out there, as shown in his pranks and builds. Oh and his ingenuity, so good at creating prettystone as Bdubs would call it

It's true that it's easier to be considered as "the best Minecraft player" if you have a great fan base, but I think it kinda works the opposite way. Most of these players have become popular after they've demonstrated their skills.
Still, I get your point and I also think three might be an unknown 9 year old kid somewhere in Russia that outshines any other Minecraft player on every category

i see impulse as a high competitor for number 1, actually.
He has good building skills; I love the factory he made in hermitcraft. its beautiful.
His redstone knowledge is really good. he constructed many redstone contraptions from scratch, modifying things as he goes.
His PVP levels might not be the best ones, but his over all survival skills are very good as well. We can see that in the "naked and scared" series in minecraft ultra hard that he does with skizzleman.
His overall understanding of minecraft and fast thinking skills are very high. Like in his latest hermitcraft episode where he dig himself into a hole to fight the ravangers.
He is incredible ambitioned and has no problems with moving his entire house a few blocks because he built it slightly off, or spending weeks to collect and construct massive buildings without making a big deal out of it.
so yeah, I think impulseSV is what I believe to be one of the top minecrafters out there.
I hope with 3rd life/last life Etho gets back into PvP, that'd be so awesome to see, like if he could actually master it...
or we're just a bunch of Etho stans 😂

He's certainly a tier 1 builder. A lot of minecraft builders can build things that cool, but not many can build things that look beautiful. He can.

Etho was actually very good at pvp, probably the best. However, since the new version he hasn't done a lot of pvp, and is a bit rusty, and isn't very familiar with the current mechanics. However he does still have a rep for being incredibly strong, as in last and 3rd life everyone is scared to fight him. If he practiced more in the new mechanics, he could easily become tier 2 or 1. hell, he could probably beat dream and technoblade (R.I.P).

I’m seeing a lot of discussion about who other possible CZcamsrs could fit these categories, and I’m gonna toss my hat into the ring and bring up Xiumavoid. Not only is his technical knowledge in a whole category (to the point where he has a data pack to keep track of it), but additionally his redstone knowledge is insane, and was one of the first people to make farming tutorials on CZcams. As for PvP I’m not sure because I personally haven’t seen him fight.
I am watching this video on December 8th 2021. I saw that this video was posted on December 12th 2020, and me being stupid was so confused on how TheMisterEpic time traveled forward 4 days LOL it took me at least 10 seconds to make the connection XDDDD

just thought id mention that 1) i did kinda expect etho to make it, 2) when personally considering whos “the best” i like to factor in creativity to each category, making people like dream and bdubs excel in certain fields (bdubs has done some really unique and cool redstone stuff), and 3) for ethos pvp skill (as well as bdubs and grian and such) check out the series last life. it has 2 seasons and is a pvp based series involving many hermits and other popular minecrafters like smajor and ldshadowlady

In my opinion, there are a few other factors and professions such as speedrunning and surviving itself, which are slightly more specific, but are also important skills. I agree with most of the points featured in this video, then again, many talented minecraft players are not mentioned, especially in the category of building: bdoubleo100, smallishbeans, fwhip, pearlescentmoon and a few others, a couple of talented redstone are missed as well, tangotek, xisuma and more. The internet is DEFINITELY wrong in my opinion, also good video man! There were just some things left unmentioned.
In my eyes ethoslab is probably the best player, he is decent at building and good at redstone, which may not sound like much, but what makes him so special is the fact that he's been that way for years, his ability to learn and adapt his skills so quickly is awesome. him being able to create amazing contraptions in the very early stages of the game when everyone else was building wooden boxes is simply remarkable.

Usually people make this a pvp based analysis or a popularity contest. Right here we have someone who take ever aspect into account. I think his grading system was flawed though. I think it should be more of a point system between all categories. Then you add the points the player got between all those categories and the one with the highest score wins.

@@aimbotxd7992 if you can beat literally everyone in PVP, build incredible and amazing things or huge and impressively effective redstone machines then I can’t imagine that anyone would keep such skills to themselves.
Although I can see etho filling this spot, I can also absolutely see Iskall85 being able to take the spot. It is easy to see it can build well, examples being any of his hermitcraft bases. He is also well versed in the redstone and technical scene, as he has made many redstone machines and technical farms. He is also creating a mod pack with a team, which helps in the technical aspect. His weakest category is probably pvp, but i think he can cover that too. His modpack that i mentioned prior is a pve based dungeon pack. Hes been playing this pack for like over 3 years now, and although they are entities, that must be increasing his general pvp prowess. There might be someone who in not thinking of who also could fill this role, but I personally think Iskall85 may be the best Minecraft player, or the closest person to such a title that is popular or has an Internet identity.

Etho is definitely a good well rounded player. For more current information on his movement skills, maybe look at his decked out runs. Since he was labelled the best player of that minigame.
I know that this video is subjective and only covers the very popular mc players but I think that a spanish youtuber called ElRichMC is probably the best mc player as he dominates in tier 1 redstone and building and probably tier 2 combat. Btw this video is rrally cool I subbed.
I think sb737 is a good contender, mcc has proved he can definitely isn’t bad at pvp, he has created incredible machines in his hardcore series which gave him a great understanding of red stone and he has also created incredible builds

@@MrSinister718 doc doesn't really design his redstone all by himself though, he mainly uses designs made by others. Etho starts from scratch and thereby discovers truly unique things that change the game for everyone else, like his hopper clock.

This could definetly be true. However if this person was the best player of a game played by millions across the entire world, they would likely have some kind of reputation in the community. It could also be possible that this person is too humble to accept this title or does not want such fame since there will be some hate. All in all the question remains a mystery.

I think it’s rare to find someone who enjoys and excels at all aspects of Minecraft. Cubfan might be that person.
Definitely highlights how truly sandbox-y Minecraft is as a game, and how much insane grind it takes to master, let alone become top tier, in all of its realms. Throwing in the unstated-but-obviously-required-for-this-tier-list skills of (a) content creation, in and of itself difficult and time consuming to practice, master, and then consistently DO enough to hit anyone's radar, and its sister skill (b) socialization (public speaking, storytelling, audience engagement, collabs, working in a team, managing a team, etc)...and I'm not sure any human could healthily top-tier (or even 2nd-tier) their way into all 4 in one lifetime.
I think Iskall is really underrated. He's almost a master at both building and redstone, while not being half bad at pvp either.

I agree. Iskall is good enough at PvP to have given Grian a lot of pause in Season 6 of Hermitcraft just by his name being mentioned with regard to a hit being put out, and he's not a Scar or a Grian in terms of overall building, but definitely has made some great designs aesthetically and some amazing technical marvels. For all-rounders, you can't go wrong with Iskall.

I'd say personally Xisuma, he is pretty top notch at redstone, his building is not to be shamed, and his PvP is pretty good. Plus, his knowledge of nearly every game mechanic due to his reviews of all the snapshots makes him extremely knowledgeable.
I have argued many times that Xisumavoid is the best all round hermit. Whilst his redstone is not as up to date as it once was he created a whole bunch of farms in the old days (around the time of Etho coming up with his hopper clock and Impulse his sorter). All 3 of them have had a bigger influence on the technicalities of redstone than Mumbo who has popularised it most.

@@satan527 Mumbo has virtually zero PvP skills. Also, unlike Etho, Tango, Impulse and Xisuma he has never been a redstone innovator (not that Xisuma or Etho really are now but historically they were). Also Mumbo is only now starting to learn how to be a builder. In previous seasons he seemed to think that large circles made you a builder.
I think one category that is overlooked here is longevity. In all GOAT discussions of sports and such this is always brought up, and i feel that it is relevant to mine raft as well. Etho definitely wins in this category as well
I don't think there's a best player currently because the pool is just too large, although at one point in time there was a definite answer, popbob.

I've been saying it's Etho for years. Too bad he's so rusty at PVP, but you could still see his tight control of movement, pragmatic use of items, and a quick wit in 3rd Life.

His 1.8 PvP was pretty good tho don't know if it still is as he doesn't play old version Minecraft. His UHC performance in PvP wasnt bad too.
Coming back to this video and having a think I think the one who fits this all rounder idea across the board most would be Iskall. Who I’d argue is Tier 2 across the board.
i think this is very true but there is also a super popular playing wise but extremely uncommon talk wise which is the modded players who are best with doing stuff with modpacks that increase there skill then if they played in vanilla, so i believe it could be good to sorta have that as a type of catagory since some people arent good with limitations of vanilla minecraft but are awsome when it comes to the modded world
Aye I think Philza is a good all-rounder. He's real sharp at Building and Redstone, and recently shown off that he isn't too rusty at PVP either.

@@imperial2252 It is a sandbox game but not completely. More like a sandbox/adventure/exploring/survival/building game.
a purely sandbox game wouldnt give you any restrictions. Garry's mod is a pure sandbox game within it you have near endless possibilities to create other games etc. This possibility in minecraft is limited to whats possible within the game with redstone mostly and a bit of creative use of mechanics.
You can make a race game in minecraft but'll never be as good in this genre as proper race games, you can also make pvp games in minecraft but that will not be as good as proper PVP games like CoD, PubG, ForHonor, etc.
The cool thing in minecraft is you can mimic all these and than go back to other ways of playing.
Now PVP is a subskill there cause it will not help you making ANY of these game happen, therfore you need to be able to build and do redstone! To "beat" the game as in kill the ender dragon you first need to build yourself the infrastructure to get all of the ressources. Granted that can be done with a minimal amount of building and redstone if you instead grind ressources endlessly.
and to kill the dragon yes you need fighting, but thats not PVP thats PVE.
To make anything in minecraft besides wandering around and exploring, which was pretty boring when the game came out first time, you need Building and redstone skills. Not PvP.
if you wanna get good in minecraft, get good in Building and redstone, after that you can go for PVP.
If you just want to get good in PVP play a shooter.

I had a contestant for all categories. Sb737 he is great at building not like jera or grian but tier 2. HE HAS MADE WORKING CONTRAPTIONS IN BEDROCK. I play bedrock so I know how hard it is my best is a 3x3 piston door lol. ALso he is top 15 last mcc and had 300 winstreak in bedwars 1.8 .I'm biased hes my favorite youtuber one of the first I ever watched but he may deserve that no1 spot
