- Ken Gushi, why you gotta flex on us so hard?? When you’re a pro drift driver, and you build your competition car as well, sometimes you’ll get into situations like Ken Gushi did: you’ve got a spare sequential gearbox, and no car for it to go into. So what do you do? You stick it in your street car, duh.

Larry, I’ll buy a print IF you tell me the outro music on your CZcams videos! And go look at @kappykaiju on IG…
I went to Gingerman expecting to see Larry!! Did you guys end up making it out???
Sickness 🤮
finally, someone who thinks a full interior makes sense. full interior all day.
👏👏
It 100% makes sense in any Lexus Is300 or GS300 or any old Lexus for that matter maybe a couple things could get taken out but that's it.
Right there with you. Full interior and driving it to AVS with ac
@@Oldhotdogwater I even have cruise control still in my Aristo with a single turbo and manual conversion
Cuz it's an actual daily.not a drive it once a month and call it a daily
Full interior ✅
Full exhaust ✅
AC ✅
Reliable power ✅
Street legal ✅
Holy shit....Ken Gushi actually knows what a street car is! Good job man, your IS300 is a street drift fantasy build 💯 and that GS is GORGEOUS 😍
One of the coolest drivers in FD.. Love his driving style and how humble he is. I hope he wins this year.
Altezza / IS300 chassis such a underrated platform. One of the JDM classics IMO.
They have yet to reach their peck value wise and they just now started going up in value people are starting to see how special the IS300.
This is why I'm building mine now, thanks Hoonigan for contributing to my carcaine addiction
go dude. i wanna see it
Bruh I never thought people are out here collecting historical drift cars. that being said, i'd love to own one of the Team Orange subarus ahaha
If you ever go to Ebisu, Kumakubo still keeps them there along with some other team orange cars.
@@luuck4235 he doesnt have all of them the r33 is in texas a few of the subarus are in europe
Yaaaaaas the team orange evo would be the amazing. I ain't got that type of money tho, nor a place to store it 😅😅
Trust me anything with a "fan base" is a collectable- Dodge had a massive following on their stratus back in the early 2000's that's to the 1996 super sport touring races.
@@luuck4235 say less lol. Yet another stop in what is likely gonna have to be a month long Japan trip xD
I can remember Ken back when he was in the Toyo Mustang. Back when formula d was on G4TechTV
Ken is a gem. I love seeing pro’s fun cars
Met ken gushi when I was 14 he was 17 when he had his green 240sx coupe at the expo center ,hot import dayz.still have his signed poster/card with the coupe on it.cool guy actually sat there and listened to my million questions about his car. 😂 p.s his dad looks like bunta
Bruh, Alteezas and 1jz swaps are literally the dream swap, four door high rev supra🙌
this is more like a jzx
@@landuXD Big fan of the chasers too, both 1jz and 2jz are lit😁
Why would people swap a 2j out for a 1j again?
@@stefano3124 cause the 2j came from the is are slow
@@daledale5693 but they are stronger blocks and have more tuning potential. So my question still stands, why swap 2j for 1j?
The fact that everything works is phenomonal. Getting the engine electronics to talk to the chassis electronics beyond ECU functions is incredible.
I've 1JZ swapped a Cressida and the wiring was by far the hardest part and even then I couldn't get certain chassis components to work
Great idea to have Ken and one of his cars featured on here. He's always been one of my favorite drivers really cuz he seems like such a cool ass dude and down to Earth.
Did anyone else move their head around the seatbelt when Larry was putting it over the camera
This one is definitely one of my favorite episode featuring ken’s IS300, his street car is just too cool 😩
I really appreciate Larry's genuine excitement you know that it's real.
Ken is one humble guy. Mvp
Beautiful IS300 that I've ever seen... simple and very clean!!!
I have a 2005 IS300 and a 2013 Fr-S. I have absolutely no faith in the GT86 because of the FA20 but my IS will be kept in the family for years and years. Thanks for the great vid!
i was talking to my cousins about making a sequential street car, they said it wasn't practical. Thanks for the video and further inspo to pursue my dream build
Can we appreciate Larry Chen & his service in the community ! 🙌🖤
You can go sequential for cheaper by getting a T56 and buying a Sequential conversion kit from S1 conversions for $1100 I think it costs idk what the price of a new or used T56 costs and you can do it with a TR6060 aswell instead of paying $15k for a full sequential. You could go the extra mile and get straight cut gears for the sequential sound and dog rings but you don't need all that cuz the sequential conversion takes the abuse off the transmission cuz you'll never miss a gear like you could with H pattern or money shift either. It'll extend the life of your trans big time
The S1 shifter will never shift as fast as a real sequential Motorsports gearbox or be as reliable. It also takes a lot more physical effort to do shifts on an s1 bolt on shifted synchro t56 than on a real sequential gearbox.
I'm in love with this car and have been waiting to learn more about it!!!!
This is a beautiful car, literally my dream car, idk why but I've been in love with the IS300, and this one is amazing
This was an amazing feature Larry ! Love it dude
Really fun/clean build, and he's got some sick driving skills.
Cool dude, Ken is! Great video, I was smiling all the way throughout the video!
Saw Ken’s name and instantly clicked. Always been a huge fan!
Altezza to the world
Honestly my favorite hoonigan channel just so much sick
Well done and thanks. Yet again you cover the important details
Super like The Guy simple , humble and real . So was your interview . From The Philippines .
I’ve been watching Ken Gushi since 2005
Love the build, great job!
That was so much fun ! Was like shifting dimensions !
This guy drives stripped out race cars so often he loves an interior.
Many cars can have a more fitting interior but you can still take some weight out. Which is the point.
I like this guy he has enthusiasm to the max, he has fun! Which is the cool kind of car guy! You want to hang out with.
Anyone remember reading about Ken when he wasn't even an adult yet? His dad taught him how to drift before he even hit puberty, now look at him! He's an international drift star
This is amazing! Nice work!
Thank you for this video, subscribing right now. Can’t wait to get my IS300
altezza was my first car, and i really hope it's my last. the dream is an ev conversion drift ripper
that sequential trans reminds me of a motorcycle transmission where you can do clutch less upshifts but you do need to use clutch in the downshifts if you don't have a quick shifter. even down to the clunks when you downshift to first.
Legit the ideal street/fun drift setup IMO
id love to see some 3s company merch sometime. Ken's IS build pushes me to build my IS even more
As far as shifting goes with a motorcycle it's the same, just give a little pressure with the foot, as soon as you roll back the throttle shift up a gear clutchless. Do it right and it feels smoother than with the clutch.
Got to visit there shop when I bought my rear sway bars off his crew for my wife and I’s IS300 amazing people, modest but there work speaks volumes.
I’m about to bring my next gs build to ken. Simple and clean.
godammit i love the sound of the sequential
Larry just made me feel old with that 3 company's reference
Well Larry thank you so much for bringing this insight of our car culture love your content and how i can relate in your view and feel of things so much to relate. i got to drive a sequential box so long ago and was going threw the same thought process it ruined me driving my normal H pattern boxes LoL
I think if I had a sequential, it would ruin all other normal manual transmission. I could watch another half hour of them just driving around town!
i’ve been watching this videos 8 times already the car is amazing
as i learn more about is300s and now that i actually own one, i come back to this video so often
Autofocus alwaysssss has the best content
Awesome stuff!!!
I wish Gushi Mayne had a shop here on the east coast. My R3 Rx8 could really go for a 1jz swap with full interior and A/C lol. Angle kit, and a swap, with A/C is a dream set up for me. A90 Supra will be my daily soon and it’ll be time to build the Rx8
Ken Gushi is such a great guy
That's a beautiful build in the IS. I like that GS more thought. I wonder if they'll do this for customers? (:
I tried my Sequential Shifter on Assetto Corsa the other month.. I havent plugged my H Shifter back in since lol. I run EVERYTHING in Seq and its amaaaaaazinggggggggg.
This is beautiful! I want to do this exact build! Just regular oem 5 speed transmission.
it has the angle of a pro car but the look of a grassers drift car
Great review.
I agree on what he said about keeping the interior
I understand weight saving but I like seeing a complete interior
depending on the car its honestly not that much of a difference, or at least not noticeable enough by itself. A 240 can drop what like 30 pounds maybe a little more but the car is deafining loud while not going any faster. The sketchiest car I have been in is a clapped out s13 with gutted interior, a homebrew angle and turbo kit, made less than 230 wheel but sounded like it was gonna take you to valhalla whether you wanted to or not. Talking like maybe a 8 sec 0-60 but I would rather sit in a dirt track car
@@nicolasgibson1956 lol
this is so fire Ken
Crazy how long is300’s have been around for, so many AMAZING great examples have come and gone. Kinda sad that it takes a popular drifter for big media to spotlight one. Who knows how long it would have taken before another cool example would earn this type of attention of it wasn’t for “gushi”. Shame this is what it takes for these amazing cars to get noticed, decades have gone by. Don’t get me wrong tho amazing car amazing owner.
Great information thank you
19:28 oh man I love that. As if the stock chime wasn't loud enough. Personally, it's my favorite part of the car because it's so funny 😂.
the dash looks so gooooooooooooood bro
Nice little addition to the 326 wing
I cant wait to 1jz swap my altezza ....you could see kens passionate about his is300s ...and dudes humble ...😎🤙
Thank you Ken!!!
Man Im am so in love with that GS300!!
Watching you fan girl over the clutchless shifting is hilarious. I’ve watch a free other CZcamsr’s set up clutchless shifting on these trans’ and it takes A TON of work so I can really appreciate this.
When they comment about the A/C working and A/C blowing cold... It totally suit a local slang/term used in Malaysia car scene
"Air-con sejuk"
Ken and Larry have the same barber lol 👍 love you Larry keep the sick videos coming 🙌
Ken gushi's car is a huge flex is what it is 👌🏼
this is my inspiration
Car guys: sequential box's are so sick
Bikers: yup we know since 19forever
Its rare people swap the tranny with sequential one you dont found it like bikes everywhere
this is exactly what i would have ever wanted at a local shop near me.
damn this is wild. I was just thinking in the shower that a 1j sequential IS300 would be bitchin
This is probably the sickest thing I've ever seen.
Nice and clean
Sounds so nice
Larry was the friend character in 3's company. "Richard Klien" was the name of the actor. He was Jack's best friend in season 2 and the funniest. :)
Ken’s correct ,I usually dream of driving a VR38 with the sequential in my G37.
Such a sick car.
My absolute dream car in high school!
thats gear box is so dope
I remeber back in the day Ken at Drift Day was drving a 32 on the track and i rolled up in a Cali Legal Silvia and he was like WTF how you do that..lol Thx Greddy for the Z exhaust hook up!!
shifter is the same as a Sportbike, I have a quick shifter that cuts ignition on up shifts and the same sensor can blip the throttle on downshifts so I never touch the clutch except to launch
that joint nasty
he got street car and in the way i dream long time ago. OMG!!! and you larry drive it. so lucky dude.
@1:12 “you got some yd2 angle dog” hahahahah iykyk
This thing is dope!
In Pa is300s with the 3.0 go for around $500-$4500 manual or automatic
Sequential street car was always a fantasy of mine. Always wanted a 1uzfe with ITB'S. A men can dream.
Same
@@wannabecarguy I fell in love with an S13 that had a 1uzfe with ITB's. It looked so rad. It was so snappy. It was perfect for drifting. I have always been a sucker for V8 and muscle cars. I have had a couple. And owned an s12.
A 1uzfe would be the marriage of these 2 things.
yd2 angle lol ! the rc reference lowkey !
Ken is the GOAT
I'm calling Ken out
I need that list of things I need to buy for that build PLEASE.
This car is so beyond dope
Loving this🥰
Rearbox Is soo Cool !!!
The angle kit on that car is nuts. Seems like well over 70 degrees of angle.
