I totally agree with comments below. No player should ever be booed whilst playing. Extremely rude and unsporting. On a lighter note, I am very happy for Fallon - what a wonderful darts player she is!

@@Steve-kb8mz I'm not a pro no but I've always liked a game! My Dad had a dartboard when I was small so he taught me how to play. And then of course I played at Uni and I can't resist a go whenever I have a drink in a pub :-) I also love table tennis! Yes you're right - I hope Fallon is going to inspire more girls to start playing.
@Farah schlitz There does seem to be an "it's only sexist if we don't benefit from it" attitude among a small but vociferous group but I think (hope) most would not want to get a leg up due to sex, race, age etc. Could be wrong though. Also, I thought Fallon only received entry to the PDC World Series events and not every major? There are talks of her being a wildcard for the Premier League. She's pulled out of the BDO WC due to prize money being cut in half so she must have something planned.

BDO darts has a much better, respectul audience towards the players and the guy who calls the scores will always ask for the best behavior from the audience when the players are throwing .
It seems PDC don't give a monkeys about moronic , bad behavior . It's disgraceful how they've ruined a great sport . It seems a lot of the players are now as bad with appalling, unsportsmanlike behavior i.e Price and Wright .
I watched it in the pub last night and she totally deserves her victory but didn’t realise the crowd we booing mensur 😞 this was painful to watch !

I remember when I started playing. My wife started too and got to be the #1 in the state (for women) before I got to#1 for men. I always considered it an honor to play with her. One of my proudest moments was when we went to a regional shoot and she beat the#14 player in the country in the first round! There's absolutely no reason why women can't be easily as good as men in this game. It doesn't require massive physical strength after all.

Although when the crowd puts the pressure on a player it sorts the good ones from the bad ones.. if you can play good and win against the crowd under that kinda pressure your one hell of a player

to be honest if I was Mensur, I would have waited before throwing. I would have waited 30 seconds, 1 minute, just to let the crowd understand that if they want the game to move on, they'll have to shut up.

Sherrock also had a lot of pressure from the media whether she could keep on winning or not. But she didn't let that affect her and produced magical darts when it mattered. (131, 9 dart attempt, Bull finish for the match)

This is disgusting behaviour by the crowd. The PDC need to sort this, or they will start losing viewers. Fallon played great and was a well deserved winner. Mensur is a nice humble guy that didn’t deserve the constant boos from the drunken idiots in the crowd. This has to stop. It’s embarrassing and shouldn’t happen at a professional level. I love the liveliness of the PDC, but this booing has to stop now. Security needs to step up and eject the pricks that are instigating this behaviour. It can be policed if done correctly. Wise up PDC or you’ll lose fans.

How could you not support Sherrock?! She's lovely. Her game has improved a staggering amount since I last saw her at Lakeside in 2015. She can throw with the best of them. I always find myself rooting for her whenever she plays.

I think with this level of play Sherrock could finish in the top 16. Off the top of my head she should face off with the 6th seed in that round which would be Gurney. May be a bridge too far.
Her opponent next round is Chris Dobey (22nd seed). Then in the Round of 16 she'd get Gurney (6th seed) or Durrant (27th seed). Gurney's a high seed for a reason, and Durrant is new to the rankings so he might be underrated. Both of them are very strong opponents; it's unlikely that she gets past either of them... but then again, I don't think anyone expected her to get past Suljovic in the first place.
If she makes it past the R16, her QF opponent would likely be Gerwyn Price (unless Henderson, Whitlock, or King upset him along the way). If it's Price, she'll be playing one of the two biggest favorites for the win. Knowing Price's history with the crowds, and how they've been in Fallon's matches, the heat in a theoretical Price-Sherrock match would be nuclear.
@@BlackPawn14 if Sherrock does get to play Price, she has every chance of winning, Suzuki won 3 legs against him in the Grand Slam so he is vulnerable.

Rumours have it that Fallon Sherrock vs Chris Dobey won't be shown on Sky Sports Main Channel on the 27th December, should be shown on Sky Sports Main channel to attract a big much bigger audience for all to watch it, this historic match. New/more people playing darts.

Positive and negatives in this. I’m always rooting for the underdogs so happy with the result. But the boos were not a good look for the game . I’m not sexist in anyway but if the female was getting booed would this cause controversy and world head lines ? Again I’m not sexist and was glad of the result

Brilliant from Sherrock. These may only be only early rounds, but these performances are monumental for ladies’ darts. There will be aspiring female darts players at home thinking I can beat these big blokes from the pub at their game too.
Theres booing then theres that shocker of a crowd. Im sure players are used to boos but every single time and so loud its surely distracting....but yhen i suppose if you have been playing darts for years and at that level you should be able to play in those conditions. It sounds like the crowd is trying to put the other player off to help her win so doesn't look good and i would expect a crowd like that at a football match not a darts match.

With how big Darts and in particular the World Darts Championship is getting. Does anyone think that different cities outside of London could get a chance to host the World Championship in the near future?
Potentially not against that idea, but not for a while. Of course if it was too be held in other cities it would be in different countries.

Sad that the booing happened to such a nice and humble guy. Honestly if I wasn’t welsh Mensur would be my favourite darts player. I’m now against Sherrock as we’ve seen that the players who have pulled off upsets in recent years fall by the wayside and be whitewashed in the latter stages, we get a better tournament if the better players go through. First major loss was Cross now Mensur, price and white were both quite lucky not to put away. And if the crowds continue like this it will only be the quality of darts in the final rounds that will be affected not the landscape of the game. I personally have no problem with sherrock playing darts against the men, but I think the men do. If she was to face someone like price he would feel awkward when he pumps himself up and we’ve already seen what that does. We’ve also seen how a calm and collected player reacts, Mensur apologises for winning a leg, then cannot cope with the booing. Tell the crowd to shut up or you’ll forfeit the match and then no one gets what they want.

What ever happened to "Best order please"? There was a time when a player couldn't throw a dart to any sort of murmur in the crowd but now it's similar to a football crowd.

The crowd sucks for booing as much as they do during her opponents throws, but that level of noise, the cheering, the singing and the chants are always present. The best darts players can play despite it, something Mensur has never really had to deal with. But Fallon played her game and beat one of the best, so all power to her for remaining calm despite what must have been a tidal surge of adrenalin whenever she hit a double! Onto the next!
I wouldn't be surprised if she got knocked out next round and the PDC gave her a premier league space just for equality

If it was the other way around, all the triggered broflakes who are complaining would be saying she needs to deal with it and making 'if you can't stand the heat' type comments. It upsets them greatly to see a woman beating a man - it really cuts them deep.
