  • This is a demonstration painting on a 12.4 x 29.6cm canvas in black and white. You can see how I have started and built up the "Southerndown sea sketch" using just a no. 0 rigger or liner brush. I gave myself 2 time restraints on the first 2 sections of 10 minutes each that I speeded up to double speed, leaving the final detailing normal speed.
Special thanks to "25 Yard Screamer", a band I love and know.

You are welcome :) Not sure what the paint was, possibly oxide black. Sorry I havent got back to you as until now, been a very busy period with a big exhibition just done and dusted. Going to get stuck into getting vids done now all of which will be here of course and attached to my website at www.vernonwjones.co.uk
regarding mw making it look easy, it just comes from a tonne of practise with the oils for many years, lots of looking at the sea, of photos, of other paintings to get the idea of how it works. Then you need to find a way to translate it. The liner brush is great for me, so are the fan brushes too.
if you need a hand, let me know.

The band is called 25 yard screamer, I cant think of the name of the song off hand, but they have out I believe to date 4 at least albums, could be 5. I am sure that I left their details on this vid at the end, you can contact them if you have any questions for them.
