Belated congrats Paul. I did mine just over a year ago. I was expecting it to be harder to be honest. Its such a good course though that I feel it should be obligatory for anyone who wants to fly a drone.
Perhaps you should have easy access to the information so you can teach yourself for free then charge for the certificate if you want to have it for commercial reasons. Definitely boosted my confidence though...
Really good video, thanks
Thanks Danny
Found this and found useful. Thanks.
Glad to hear it!
Congratulations Paul 👍
Thanks Lindsay!
thanks
You're welcome!
Well done on passing. I've got the A2 CofC and have a M2P and a Mini 2. I've actually been using the Mini 2 more recently to do free roof/gutter inspections for friends and family and people have encouraged me to charge for the service, as they were impressed by the amount of detail my Mini gave. But Im thinking the GVC is overkill for me and I'm put off by the additional costs of £190 the GVC entails each year just to keep flying. As for the OPs manual - Woah!
Thanks man, Yeah, makes sense. It really is a capable drone, I have used my for a couple of roof surveys too. It certainly does the job!
Do I need to do any test while flying my Mini 2?
@@TravelwithDaySack No, in the UK you just need to register with the CAA for an Operators ID
Looking at doing my GVC too
Just finished the exam I had 60 questions there seemed to be quite a few that were not covered in the course perhaps updated needed on the training I passed but just. Would of been much higher if those other questions were covered
Excellent video Paul. Did I understand you correctly that the annual recurring cost is £190. Do you have to reapply after 5 years (as per the A2 Cof C). Are there any additional annual costs.
It's £400 for the GVC which lasts 5 years, so you will need to retake/renew it after that. To fly in the specific category you also need a PDRA that you need to apply to the CAA to obtain. At the moment it is around £240 for the first year and £120 renew.
It's not cheap, but aimed towards a professional market...
Having Severe ADHD and being asked to be fixated on a screen IS NOT POSSIBLE. So I’d fail just because my mind is in 50 things at once 😂
😂
Nice...👍.
A bit creepy...🤣🤣🤣.
♥ Sometimes it cannot be hidden...
Terrible, really confusing ans what was that damn popping sound on your audio....
If you found that confusing, I wouldn't visit the CAA's website if I were you.
I thought it was very clear and well paced.
