Watching you has given me courage to restore an '84 TRX200 that my wife bought as a project. Parts are so scarce that we ran across a parts donor for $100 so with watching your TRX200 AND ATC200ES videos, getting an original service manual from the local Honda dealership (for free if you can believe it) I think we have the knowledge to put together a complete bike.
Thank you for the great videos! When you have time please keep them coming

Assembly lube is always very important... when I did mine I used my bel ray 2 stroke oil on the wrist pin and bearing put some on the rod needle bearings then on the rings and smeared some in the intake ports and on the reed pedals so as soon as it fired it was getting oil all over... smoked like crazy but oil is cheap top ends aren't

Man, I have an 81 that looks just like that. They are very similar bikes the 81 and 82. My plastics are original and in a bit better condition, but like you said you were just trying to get it running I completely understand that. I had to rebuild the top end of my 81 baught a top end or jug from ebay and sent them mine luckily I had a spear from another bike that I sent to them not my original because when I got it back with the new wisco piston there were some broke off air fins, witch I was not happy with at all, but I was excited so I pushed forward and put the thing back together and to my Dads surprise the bike started third kick. God Bless my friend.

Fantastic job as always, can't wait for the ride video. Busy day today, picked up my other truck, loaded up a 700 Sportsman and waiting for a seat cover customer to pick up his Brute Force 750 seat. Rode the dx225, 250sx and a 1990 300 fourtrax 4wd I picked up from the original owner, last night before dark and thats the way to end the day. This week I'm building shelves for plow mounts and preparing for the winter project of adding 8ft. steel shelves for the blades and push tubes. Looks like I'll be grinding till the bitter end but I'd rather burn out then fade away.[Words from Neil young]. Take care and I'll be sending a strongly worded message to Harvey.

They may have also heard that by deleting the base gasket on 2 stroke ehgines you can raise the compression ratio. If deleting one helps? then deleting both base and head gasket should turn it into a rocket right?Lol! Base gasket deleting is very common on "hot saws" (chain saws for competition)to increase the compression ratio or make the piston to head distance closer and squeeze out a little bit more power.
It's easy and no machining is required.Get it wrong though and busted heads and bent rods will ruin your day. I would assume that all of the exhaust ports on that cylinder head could also be polished and the intake ports flowed out and enlarged like a saw also? Anyway, it was a great video!

That may be so, but I don't think its worth the chance of a leak. Thanks for sharing NorthTexasFarming, I visited Dallas once, I always wanted to go into North Texas.

Hey, the 81/82 250r wheels were painted gold, not anodized like the 85/86. I found a antique or Aztec gold to be pretty close

@@AlexTorres-ks6kz if your certain tou have the stock bore, then google a std piston for your machine, then take that size piston and convert it to mm using an online calculator. Then search amazon for that mm size flex hone. But the one that is the same or just a mm or 2 bigger.. or use the link in the description for the 250r I used.
