Hi Nikki 🌺. Very cool video about these stunning plants of proven winners . I have the blue and the pink from rose of sharon and I wish our nurseries get this beautiful hydrangea . Have a wonderful day . 🌺🌻🌺
Thank you for watching! 💚 You are absolutely right- they ARE stunning!
I saw the email and yelled out Woo Hoo!!! Even if the plants don't work for my zone or current gardening needs, it's always fun to watch.
I'm so glad to hear it!!! 💚
Yay Nikki!! I’m so happy to see you back with POTD! Best surprise ever! Happy Summer and Happy planting!

Thank you, Judy! 🥰
I live in Arizona zone 9b and can confirm Blue My Mind loves the heat. Even in 115 degree temperatures it looks fantastic! I have two that I planted last season that over wintered. They start blooming in February and will go strong through mid-December.
Love your enthusiasm! 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! I get super giddy over pretty plants!!!! 😊
Dang you made my day 🥰 Love these videos!
Love to hear it!!!!! 🥰
What happened to blue my mind xl? I had it a few years ago and it was out of this world!
It's still around! We only grow the original currently. So glad you had a great experience with it! 💚
How much is the blue Rose of Sharon! I live in Daphne, AL, zone 8b or 9! Please respond! What about the pink Rose of Sharon? Diane

Hi Nikki
So we are in a heat warning right now. Should you feed more or less in a heat wave? Thanks!
I've never adjusted my fertilizing during a heat wave. I am in Michigan, so my heat wave is much different than those in warm climates, however! As long as you are watering well/deeply between feedings, I feel it's safe. If you are only watering during feedings, then I would be more hesitant. A dried out pot may not bode well when it's fed instead of watered, ya know?! You could always do half strength, if that feels better, too! You're plants will tell you what they need. If they start losing that beautiful color, you need to feed them. If they are consistently wilted, you'll need to focus on increasing their watering before feeding. Sorry, that's a bunch of rambling! If you watch my vids, that is probably no surprise, however. LOL!!!!! 🤣💚
This is perfect, thanks so much! May I ask one other question? I purchased 2 Fairytrail Bride Hydrangeas and your staff advised to put them in big pots, which I did. They were small so I wanted to add spillers so I chose pink cashmere verbina which I knew were a workhorse so I only planted 2 per pot. They are taking over the pots. I am moving them away from the hydrangeas so they don’t smother them but my hydrangea foliage is turning from a dark green to a chartreuse green. Do you think it just needs fed or it it not doing well with the verbenas? Thanks so much!!
@@kellysnyder5482 My first thought would be that they need fed. Being they are in pots, they are likely getting watered more than they would in the ground, which means they need to be fed a bit more, as watering will flush out the nutrients! Anytime I start to lose color, I always reach for the fert! :) I bet that was a beautiful combo while it lasted though!!!!!
Thanks so much! They were and are beautiful! Thanks so much!!
