    The PROFILE Physical Testing
    For those of you who don't know I've worked with all of the Broward College Police Academy Law Enforcement, and Corrections classes for the last 8 years.
    This video outlines the The PROFILE test. The PROFILE is a battery of physical tests that cadets are required to prepare for and execute 3 times over the course of their 5 and a half months in the Academy. The minimum passing requirement is a 75% overall score.
    Most Police agencies will prefer to see continual growth and progress throughout the periodic testing throughout a cadet's time in Academy. Many agencies require at least 2 passing profile scores to maintain employment status. Again, continually growth, and improvement on physical testing scores is critical.
    Anyone seeking employment as a Law Enforcement officer in Broward County should understand these tests, and begin training to prepare for them as soon as possible. Being prepared for the profile will ensure preparedness for the Physical Agility Test (PAT), Basic Motor Skills Test (BMST), Swim Test, and FDLE testing.
    The PAT, BMST, and Swim Test are all requirements to begin the application and employment process for Broward Agencies.
    The BMST requirements are below:
    10 Push-ups
    10 Sit-ups
    800 meter run in 4 Minutes 30 Seconds or less
    Obstacle course in 1 minute 52 seconds or less
    This is a SIGNIFICANTLY easier test than the Profile which is far more mentally and physically demanding.
    AS SUCH...
    Preparation for the profile should be a primary point of focus prior to beginning the employment application with Broward Police agencies as the time frame from completing the hiring process to starting Academy can, and has been, as short as 2-3 weeks.
    The PROFILE requirements are below:
    3 profiles will be done during the 5 and ½ months. Typically 2 profiles of 75% or more are required.
    1. 12 Pull-ups
    2. 85 Sit-ups in 2 minutes
    3. 60 Push-ups in 2 minutes
    4. 41 Mountain Climbers in 1 minute
    5. 60 Bend & Twists in 1 minute
    6. 35 Squat Thrusts in 1 minute
    7. 800 Meter Run in 3 minutes or less
    8. Obstacle Course in 1 minute 25 seconds or less
