@@mrandrewjohns3657 He means the product doesn't come with any instructions on how to apply it, dummy. And that he got it from this video that you actually need to apply water.
Finally some useful info on this kinda film. I just got some adhesive film that looks identical to this stuff but it doesn't mention anywhere to apply to the window 'wet'. Results trying to apply dry are a disaster.
Not supposed to use it on plexiglass. Im assuming because the reflecting properties would reflect directly on the plexi, therefore concentrating the heat on the plexi (plastic-ish), which is a hell of fire hazard!
Ah, so water should work eh. There’s no way I’m buying a $25 installation kit I will use one time (which costs $10 more than the film itself which is nuts). I just needed a refresher on how to install it 😂
So, doing every window in your house will take several days. If you just use scotch transparent tape around the edges of the film (don't peel off the backing from the film itself, and situate the backing on the inside) you can do your whole house in a couple of hours. It doesn't look as cool (OTOH: a botched job of using the water/squeegee also looks stupid) but I guess it depends on your feelings/priorities. What I'm wondering about is how much energy the substrate plastic (polyester) absorbs - apparently it absorbs ~20% of the infrared between 1500 and 500 cm^-1. But the film is quite thin, so IR absorbency is probably less.
True, but then it would take longer to take them down depending on potential glue marks left on the window from the scotch tape. This woukd take longer initially, but very easy to take down.
Just spent hours applying to a dry window ! Nowhere did it say apply wet . Thank god for this video
😂
Same here lol
Lol he literal sprays the window then applies the contact. Watch it before commenting 😂

Thanks
This was useful
Good.. Very useful instruction.
Very useful video
Can I do it without water ??
....And then Sharon walks in the room and asks Toby where he was last night and why they now need to shield their windows.
This is very helpful!
1:21 That thing you sprayed on the glass before applying the film - is it a solution or just plain water?
iz watturr
Its a solution mixed with water + soap (can be dishwashing soap or even body soap). trust me I tried.
Easy
Soap or water just?
does this method work for contact paper?
Hi Julie,
The cutting and smoothing techniques would work, however we generally don't recommend putting adhesive film on windows.
How about doing this on plexiglass what is the correct method is there a video someone send me the link thanks in advance

Can be removed?
Yes. Easy to apply & Remove when required.

Why apply only half a window? Don’t get it.
wouldn't wetting the adhesive cause it to lose adhesiveness?
no, if you push the water out it should be as strong as dry
I have had a window part covered with this for privacy for 31/2yrs never once has it fallen off. Quick & easy to use.
Mine isent sticky
why the water????
I tried it without water BEFORE I saw this video. It did not end well.

Why would someone NOT peel the backing? You do realize that is paper on one side, right? No one wants to see that
This shit dont work soon as it dries the film falls off
Don’t need to measure it
