  • This was unfortunately the only half decent session that I managed all day. The others were ruined by rain, car problems, noise problems, or me feeling ill! Overall, not my most enjoyable track day. Very well run event by Lotus on Track however.

Steering got a little twichy towards the end. Thanks for posting. Nice one.

Gear throws look so smooth! My 410 is a notchy mess, quick frequently won’t even go into gear 🥲
    Great driving mate 🙏🏻

Cheers. I think the gearboxes (well, the cables) really need to be perfectly adjusted. It’s taken me a while to learn how fast to shift. If I rush it too much mine can be notchy too, especially when hot. Before this track day I changed the gearbox oil for Motul 300, and that seemed to help.

@@PNDale I was thinking of switching oil too. I took the car in to get cables looked at because that was my suspicion too but got the usual “can’t find anything wrong” response.
100% gets worse the hotter it gets. Totally agree. I’ve had 3rd grind a few times coming out of close to redline in 2nd. Was thinking it was clutch drag.
Curious if you’ve suffered the same? Great to talk to someone else that’s experienced it too 😂

@@Invis_Space I think I’ve had a bit of a crunch in both 3rd and 4th if I try and rush the gear change when it’s hot. The old oil didn’t look great when I changed it. I think it gets too thin on track, even with the gearbox cooler.

@@PNDale Great feedback mate, I appreciate that. I’ll look into your suggestion with oil.

@@Invis_Space Yeah, it’s definitely worth changing it. It can only make things better can’t it. 👍🏼

Hey Paul have you put any road tyres on your car for road driving in autumn? I’m looking to take the cups off for autumn. Any advice? 😁

Hello mate. No, I haven’t I’m afraid. I think the hard part with our cars is finding a good tyre that’s available in both front and rear sizes. From previous experience though I do rate the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. (Not the normal Sport 4, I haven’t tried that one, although it’s supposed to be decent I think) I know there’s a Pilot Sport 5 now. That might make a good autumn / winter tyre?

@@PNDale yeah I was thinking about the PS5 since I wont be doing anything to crazy at this time of year. But like you say I’m now finding it hard to get the sizes for the rear 😬
I was reading some comments on the forums about making sure you get the right OE tyres for lotus and now that’s really made in a minefield for online sourcing. 🥲

@@Invis_Space Anytime mate. Always nice to try and help each other out. Do you use Instagram? There’s a few helpful 410 owners on there.

I do have an Instagram, just had a bunch of car things I’m following. Trying to find my login details now. Do you have any links you can share?
I tried to send you my number a few times there. Message got blocked. I guess CZcams making sure I don’t make stupid decisions 😂
