I'm 75 years of age and suffer from severe PTSD as the result of being an anti terrorist police officer. The most common method of getting relief for myself is heading out to my woodworking shop each morning and getting myself lost in a beautiful piece of wood. Also, a good walk in the open countryside works wonders.

Your words are a balm for this soul, they are do needed. I'm thinking about getting some excersise, but lack the strength to overcome past hurts associated with them (I was very ill during childhood, and was bullied by other kids and teachers because of obesity, to this day the mere mention of excersises makes me very uneasy).
Perhaps you could go to a therapist who can help you break the association between exercise and past trauma. It can be done

I have been dealing with all kinds of physical joint problems all this year and it definitely has affected my mood adversely.
