TANNOY - Billesley Pump & Coventry Reserve Pump double turnout from Coventry Fire Station

This video features Billesley Fire Station's PRL turning out from Coventry Fire Station whilst on standby, alongside the station's BRV appliance running on a spare appliance. Both appliances turned out to a Road Traffic Collision. The video also features the station's turnout tones and tannoy, which announces the call category and appliances assigned.

Pretty much, some new vehicles are due to arrive soon for the 3 stations that have had this change (Coventry, Highgate & Walsall) for their BRVs.

@@BSW150 All part of the new "Risk-based crewing" strategy! I'm told that the 3 new vehicles will be more similar to small PRLs rather than the current Hilux-style BRVs.

New crewing system is a Crew of 8 at 2 vehicle stations and a crew of 5-6 at 1 pump stations. Hence why the 71 & 72 plate pumps have only 5 seats.

Will you please tell us what a reserve pump is ,In the old days it was a pump kept at a divisional stn to be used normally when a pump went off the run owing to a mechanical problem,

It is essentially that, this reserve appliance is standing in for the usual appliance, which is in for repairs at workshops.

Why is the turnout system counting time passing?

WMFS has a policy that, from the tones dropping, the crew should be mobile in under 90 seconds (aiming for 60 seconds), hence the countdown.
