In my hometown of Springfield, Missouri, these buses were everywhere about ten years back, but eventually, the city purchased newer, more modern buses, and all of the New Flyer buses were retired out.
Really glad you bought this, lol saw that vid of it by Brighton beach. Been too long since those areas have heard a DD50G powered C40LF. Great investment dude I hope maybe I see you on the road driving this, lol
Yo I'm enjoying this ride!! I love whenever the gears change, you hear the Detroit sneezing. If you have this bus still, we should do a meetup with both of our D40LFs. You make me want to take my Old Blue out.
In Madison County, Illinois, we had the D30LF and D40LF's . D30LF's were 1998's and D40LF's were 1997s. The D30s had Cummins ISC/ Allison B400R. And the D40s had the Detroit Series 50 and the Allison B400R, they also had the iconic musical MAN axles. They were retired from 2010-2012 in replacement of our 37 30 footer and our 35 40 footer Gillig BRT's. Some of our New Flyers are still being operated by Airports, and Lorenz Bus Service has some.
Wait. So you're telling me that you can drive a City Bus, New Flyer, Personally??? That is AMAZING. This is Legal right? Because That's really Cool!! I gotta do some research in this cause I'm a fan of this, Great Video too!

Even the COTA Gillig Advantages and New Flyer Xcelsior XN40s sound quite similar especially that antilag “stututu” during braking
@@ag6371 they used similar engine setups pretty sure the cummins isl-G is just a normal isl running on cng instead of diesel.
The bus really moves. I had no idea it can get going that fast and it's got decent handling.
In certain temps outside a cng bus sucks at a acceleration at times
