Basically, I use the meteor itself and my hunter's distance to the meteor's impact area as reference: Close range (right in the impact area) - Jump right before or as soon as the meteor shows up Mid range - Jump as soon as the meteor has fully emerged. Long range - Jump shortly after the meteor has fully emerged (about 1/3 or halfway through) I know the description is rather vague and somewhat lacking but that's the general rule of thumb. For those wondering, Extreme Behemoth phase 3 has a dps check and he will spam the Ecliptic Meteor if you're not doing enough damage within a certain amount of time. Basically, I need to git gud against Extreme Behemoth... ...which I won't bother doing because the fight is not very fun >:^(
Judging from the replies here, it seems the Handler's nature of growing stronger is similar to of Xeno'jiiva who feeds bioenergy from countless monsters 😂
This is a great case study for observing when to jump to dodge Ecliptic Meteor. Notice the character covering her eyes with her arm when the meteor is summoned? Immediately after that short animation, right when the character returns to idle position is the time to perform the jump.
I actually believed in that and swear by it until I watched this video. If you review the very first jump, Canta actually jumps pretty darn late if you follow the flinch animation, he is very likely in the "long range" section of the jump timing as he described in his comments. However, his subsequent jumps seem to be in the "middle range" which I think that "flinch" animation you mentioned would work, so the distance between you and ground zero certainly matters and the flinch animation isn't a one-size-fits-all.
I find it easier to time it right when the behemoth slams its body down rather than watching the meteor. But i only beat it once and never looked back.
I completely understand your decision not to. I haven't beaten extreme behemoth even once because trying to do that with randoms was not fun at all. As good as the layered armor is, thats just too much time i could be spending farming for weapons and augments and other shit I'm still missing.
Tbh i was able to kill extremoth with randoms at the second try. Sure i popped like 30 mega potions as a healer but we managed even if the tank wasn't able to keep aggro all the time. It kind of depends which randoms you play with. SOS of course is hell but if you look in sessions you could find decent players
@@ghendao that's kinda the problem. Yes i know that it can be done with randoms, but that means I'd have to put in a lot of time into trying to find the right group. And THAT'S the time i don't want to spend. I don't mind fighting if 50 times but fighting 100+ times while trying to find a good group sounds like a chore and a nuisance. I prefer hunting solo mostly and that's just a lot of effort for some cosmetic gear
In mhw's community many famous players have a discord server for people to try and find partners for more difficult missions and such, i think you should try it out
@FinalHunter It depends, Raid Bosses usually have more than one million mana, and the spells are one mana a cast. It's my guess as to why the blue bar never go down through out a fight.
Behemoth dying immediately after the final Ecliptic Meteor would insinuate it's suicide damage that it's willingly inflicting upon itself to deal a huge blow. THIS on the other hand insinuates that the moment he releases the last meteor, he's already dead and just wants one last "fuck you" at the end of his life. What a bastard of a monster.

Actually I'm RC 838 and when I fought this beast my jump landed in the same spot it started. I had no Idea it could target the head. I always have a combo ready for Max potions and I take one right before the EM lands cuz, as I said before, my Hunter lands on the same spot it jumped, taking damage from the shockwave, hp down to 30 o maybe 20 in the worst case. I am......a bit disappointed at myself. All of this time and I never knew XD

At the last ecliptic meteor your character doesn't do the flex animation? Are there any actions that interrupt that animation? I depend on that for timing the jump ... 🤔
Extremoth is not worth it period even if u do successfully solo it. It takes WAY too much work and effort just to SURVIVE against its onslaught of tornado's alone. On top of the ecliptic meteors. Then there's the 5 min less off the quest duration which forces u to be on your A game way more than with normal behemoth. The quest in general just isn't designed for solo play, even tho its still possible.

I tend to look at my hunter, he flinches the moment Behemoth roars and then falls on his front paws. The moment your hunter stops covering their ears is the moment when you must perform the jump. The other hint is to jump at the moment the Behemoth falls on his paws and before he touches the ground. The last hint is the Ecliptic Meteor itself. Once it shows itself completely is the moment to jump. I've tested the first two hints several times with normal Behemoth and it has worked everytime for me. You can test it by yourself or just looking at Canta's jumps, he did them quite a lot without failing in this video.
I already know how to consistently dodge it (at least 4/5 actually because I hate the fight in general so hardly fought it any), I may be on PC but have hunted standard Behemoth a LOT and even soloed AT one today (Jho LS DPS set, took about 22 mins), was just wondering which method Canta uses. Personally I just switch between jumping before it slams down or just after the meteor is fully visible.
Your gear doesn't affect defense by much, and I'm sure canta had no defensive skills, just fully upgrade and augment your armor. Behe doesn't deal much damage at all.
When attacking the damage effect shown are different from my gameplay. At screen it show "50!", the damage with exclamation mark and sometimes with the attacking move like "Tornado slash". Any changes in setting? Please advise me, it looks more cool.

The main issue of this fight( with HR gear) is the 30 minutes limit. Capcom knew that solo players would like to attempt and fucked us. 😡😡 aside from the bullshit that is charybdis

To be fair, if Behemoth is really an intellectual being (e.g. AI), it’d probably use its killing move more than once per zone.

Yes, it allows your party to hit it freely without having to worry about charybdis spam

Were you doing TA? If not you could always do fortify you’re well and truly good enough to get the dps check with the boost from fortify.
TA rules forbid the use of certain skills like Fortify and Heroics iirc
