Beyond any doubt the best Singer of the subcontinent. Artists like him are not born every day. More than 10 years ago when I heard him first time I could not sleep, I kept on playing his CD over & over again. Later I purchased my entire Stereo System to match Khan's voice. I was told, he is not very popular in Pakistan, not surprising. It is a country where people have questionable taste. Khan never worshiped the Golden Calf.

"Each wilted flower under dew reminds me (of you, my etherical beauty).Tears dripping (from my eyes) are flowing where my departed ones are gone. Friend (my life), get closer, who knows how long this dark night will last. I have been wandering endlessly for you, but you are nowhere to be found. {Years are gone, my admiration for Khan has not faded_ he is with me during those un-ending nights which last forever. Of course, Khayal Amrohi wrote it for the 'lost ones' like me).

This is 2018, I am returning again after several years. I do not know how long I will keep on wandering. Nights are getting darker and longer, Khan ( and perhaps Khayal the poet) had a friend, they were lucky. One couplet is sung for me, 'falling tears are flowing where my friends are gone'. I am not lucky to see the BEST singer of Cholistan, but I am still lucky that someone recorded it, and then posted it.
Love is a fire that knows no extinction. In search of absolute merger with the beloved it wrigles restlessly for one thing or the other that describes its dustance,more or less, from the centre of union.Poets like other artists portray the feelings of this wrigling longing.
A philosopher-poet wrote, "the skies wirls many times then a few men rise from the dust". In this DARK world there are countless shadows but only a few HUMAN beings, Khan Saheb was not another singer, he was closer to GODS than to us, the mortal souls.

Legend I heard this for the first time it was 7 pm and now its 3 am and I'm still listening to this ghazal I have heard his most songs but this one for the first time. ❤

I don't know how many times I have listened this ghazal; and repeated back while listening this song to listen how Pathanay Khan saab says "Ho" at 0:53 . I can't express my feeling how I reacted every time, I repeat back to listen "ho". I shared my thought with you, maybe you have same feeling just like me. Such a mesmerizing ghazal. I have listened Mehdi saab, Nusrat saab, Pankhaj saab Jagjit saab and all other Ghazal legends, but this Ghazal's expression is beyond understanding, directly from heaven.

خیال آمروہی نے اپنے نام منصوب کی گئی اس غزل دراصل یہ غزل ساحر صدیقی صاحب کی ھے جو جھنگ سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں اور غالباً
پیشہ کے لحاظ درزی تھے
کچھ اس طرح قریب رگ جان ہوئے وہ کہ اب ہجر کی راتوں میں خوابوں میں آکر آنکھوں کو انسوؤں سے بھر کرمسکراتے ہوئے رخصت ہوجاتے ہیں
مجھے عشق کرنے کا شوق ہے مگر آج تک نہیں ہوا... اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے.... شاید میں اس قابل ہی نہیں...
