Fiery Shooting Scene | Laveen, Southwest Phoenix

Phoenix Police and Fire Crews responded to reports of a shooting near 62nd Lane and Encinas Lane shortly before 11:00pm Sunday evening. As fire crews were in route they received additional reports of a vehicle on fire extending to a house located at the same address as the shooting. Phoenix Police arrived and learned that the shooting victim was transported to a local hospital prior to arrival of emergency crews. Police declared the scene secure allowing fire crews to enter the area. Firefighters quickly deployed multiple handlines extinguishing the fully involved vehicle fire and began working to extinguish the flames that spread to the residence. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, Phoenix Police are working to gather evidence related to the shooting.
