You can ask the event organisers, to provide you with a map of the event and indicate where you will be, prior to the event. You can also ask to be put on the main strip for selling. You pay the same as other venders and seem to be getting a raw deal. The woman that hit your car is responsible for repairs and you are not. Tell her you are seeking official information on your rights. Good luck some people are just rude and irresponsible. Xx
Based on this map because I had never done the event before it was hard to tell if that area was going to be bad or not. I thought it was going to be good lol. The woman was very strange about the whole thing and kept trying to hug me while I was telling her that I was upset about the situation the whole thing was odd. I've decided to let it go as much as possible because I don't think she is planning on helping with the cargo hitch and I don't want to dwell on it any further haha. Any time there is a car accident and one car is parked it is 100% the car that was moving last that is at fault. I hope you can get this rectified and she does what she is legally obligated to do. The organizer sounds rude and may have had an affiliation with the lady.
Yes I agree and no other car had trouble seeing it so I don't know why she acts like she couldn't! I'm a little bit convinced she may have been a little under the influence based on some of her actions (trying to hug me a lot, offered for me to stay at her house??? said she loved me when saying bye??) soooo yeah I don't know if maybe she is just actually crazy lol. I'm trying to just let it go to the best of my abilities because I don't think I can count on her to handle it based on the initial interaction and the interaction of getting the bins back (I talk about that in the next video lol)
You could get a really pretty fabric cloth to cover the bins, and use them as a "table". Unless you have to consently open them for restocking then just cover them.
Hopefully with my new rack and more garment bags I'll have way less bins to deal with and then hopefully I can just bring empty bins back to my car!
This is INSANE. Also yeah that lady needs to buy you a new hitch. I hate when organizers aren't organized! The really ruin the mood and make people not want to do anything. He should be ashamed of himself.
It was insane!! I feel like I didn't even know how to respond I was that confused by the whole interaction! She said she would have to "think about it" when I straight up asked her to get me a new one so who knows what's going to happen. Other vendors I've talked to said he's always like this and that doesn't surprise me at all.

I hope it all resolves in the best way for you and yeah so not worth it for you to do that again plus there is danger in being at a place like that packing up in the dark and not many people around for safety's sake. It's what stops me from doing some night markets because I know I can't get packed up quickly and the fear of being left in a dark place alone terrifies me. 2 hrs away from help is just not worth it, I wouldn't have even been in a state to drive back home.
I hope your next lot of markets are amazing and make up for that horrible day.

Thank you so much!! Even though it didn't resolve itself in the best way I am safe and sound and I am trying to not put any more emotional energy into it lol. What was super weird about this one was I didn't think I would be alone because I have gotten pretty quick at packing up but everyone was pretty much packed to go by the time I started even breaking down because they wanted the event be just straight up over at 7 not that we start packing up at 7 it was really weird. I was almost not in a state to drive home when I called Ethan to tell him I was in straight up waterfall mode lol. When I'm mad I cry really hard but I was able to make it home haha. My market this weekend is always a good one for me so hopefully it goes well. I really like my new rack too I think it makes me look more boutique-y which I like :)

Gosh Bailey, what a nightmare! The organiser sounds a nightmare to deal with so I don’t blame you for speaking out about how you were treated. No one should be spoken to like that.
On a slightly different note, not sure what your plan is for your bins but rather than taking a table to help hide them, maybe you could get a big white bed sheet and cover them instead? That way you could still access the things inside but a white sheet over them would probably be less obvious than the black & yellow ones. Also, have you thought about a “over the door” mirror hanging up in your booth? As you’re selling apparel items, it may help people to imagine themselves wearing the items if they had use of a mirror. x
Yeah I can definitely deal with people being a little not nice but being straight up hurtful kind of just for the heck of it I have to speak out about it!! I've got a second rack now and more garment bags so hopefully I'll be able to eliminate most of the bins and then it will be easier to deal with the leftover ones by taking them back to the car/hide with fabric. I do a have a mirror in my Amazon cart that I need to get I just forget about it and sometimes I have a hard time pulling the trigger on things in my Amazon cart lol
@@googoogoods - The rack looked great by the way so defo money well spent on getting a second one. And I totally get the “should I, shouldn’t I” thing with spending money. My Amazon “save for later” list gets bigger all the time. Lol!
Did you get your stuff back in the end? That whole scenario was just crazy and added yet more stress on you when you’ve got enough on your plate already. You really dealt with all that stuff like a champ. You really did. xx

That sucks!!!!! I really really hope the woman does the right thing. The harbor freight comment made me laugh, you’re brave for speaking up! I would have probably cried . Thank you for being so honest and open about the not-so-fun parts of running a small business . Lol trust me when I say I was crying lol but then when the real rudeness started coming from him I switched into full on adult mode where I put the hammer down and told him I didn't need him talking to me like that it wasn't helpful. Everyone in the comments is always so kind to me, I don't know what I did to deserve it but I couldn't be more thankful. Also when I'm mad I cry but the sheer annoyance of the situation helped me reel it in lol
You should have called the law
By the end of the day when it happened I was tired, hungry, had to pee, and had the drive home I was not prepared to have to also handle doing anything with the police which may not have been the right call but I just wanted to skedaddle out of there lol

I need to try to find some other ones in the area that I haven't tried before to test them out but it's tricky when I don't want to do so many that I don't have a home life lol. It’s not your fault if a moving car hits a PARKED car. 4’ is standard, and I think it just has to have a red flag if over 4’ not necessarily have lights.(may depend on State). If you are a stopped car in the middle of the road and someone hits you, it’s the moving vehicles fault for not paying attention. You should have called PD and reported the accident.
I was looking and for Florida I think is said it has to have lights if it's over 4 feet! I probably should have called the police but after the events of the day and just wanting to be home I made the decision to try to settle it without police involvement. Hopefully there won't be a next time!
I love that you man these solo with hubs holding down the fort with kids. I do the same. Mom guilt hits me sometimes but I know I'm building something for my family. Keep rocking it, girl!
Also, market Tip for us Floridians, because of sometimes I'm out in that heat and the sun is moving away from my sun wall, I purchased arm sleeves, they are super super thin and they have ones that keep you cool (the same ones that bikers use) I put those on my arms to avoid sunburnt and heat exhaustion 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes the mom guilt gets me too sometimes but I agree we are building something great for our families! Also it does feel fun to have a little me time though I'd like to share that me time with my husband lol. You keep rocking it too friend :)

Thank you so much for the kind words, I hope that the bad things that happen to me prevent bad things from happening to you all haha. I just have one close market this week (I thought it was two but I had that date wrong unfortunately) so I'll be easing back into it this week.
As someone who lives in JAX and goes to JAX beach, the kiosks are very much ignored by a lot of locals. Some locals do use the kiosks, but the majority of those beach kiosks are used by tourists and non-locals. Locals ignore or find parking that closer to the clubs, or outside of that area where there are no kiosks. I’ve only heard of people being forced to pay late at night when there are little cars in each lot and the police are around. Other than that, he wasn’t helpful because locals don’t care about the kiosks.
So sorry that you went through all of that. I’ve heard off things about that organizer so your experience is not the only one unfortunately.
The kiosk thing was weird because they were all covered with bags. In the email they specifically mentioned having to pay for parking and telling us where to park and how much we needed to pay so that's why I was so weirded out by the people working the event being weird about it! I'm okay now but it was definitely an all around weird day for me. I've heard off things too since this happened from other people who have done the event so it's a bummer for sure!
I like the clothing rack!! Maybe keep an example of each item and size on the rack. Get a table to hide your bins under and behind, possibly risers for the table? Use the table as your checkout station and a few decorations or display items. Have the rest of your inventory in cellophane and on the shelves. Hope the suggestions are helpful 😊

Ok finished the video and WOW! I would’ve been livid at this situation. I agree with another commenter, maybe the organizer knew the woman and that’s why he was acting like that. Or he didn’t want the police to get involved and tried to put it on you.
Yeah that's what I've been doing on the rack! I've put out one of each size and then bagging the rest :)

Lol I'm glad you stayed for the wild ride after seeing the comments! I feel like there is a possibility that he was afraid that the woman would complain to the city or something and get the event shut down so he just went full on attack me and say I was in the wrong. So frustrating!

Hey again neighbor! Thank you so much, my major advice would be to start your market journey by starting at a small, local event with a table space so that you don't have to have a tent or worry about weather issues. Also with a table space there's not a ton of pressure to bring a lot of product and you can kind of test the waters to see what you like in terms of set up/products brought/what markets in your area are like. You can also visit markets in your area by finding some on Instagram and see which ones you like attending just for fun and see if it's an event you can vend at!
Why didn’t you call the cops and report it to your insurance. Not only is your hitch damaged but something unforeseen could have been jarred or broken in your car. I hope it works out for you, that’s stressful. Love your videos! P.s. did you do an inventory count when you got your bins back?!
At the time when it happened it was getting late and the day had been so long (I hadn't eaten all day or used the bathroom since I first got there in the morning) and I still had a huge drive home and I was emotionally not in a great place because of it so I just did not want to have to deal with calling the police. Looking back at it now I know that I should have but it was just going to be too much for me at the time it happened. I was also afraid the organizer would convince the police that I was definitely in the wrong and somehow I would have gotten a ticket or something. Thankfully my car is still driving okay lol. I did do an inventory count so I'm all good there! Thank you so much for the support & thank you for looking out for me :)

I think the organizer was trying to intimidate you to cover for the fact that they didn’t provide necessary information.
I also think they were doing it to make me feel like I was super in the wrong so that the lady wouldn't contact the city and get the pop up shut down or something. Also I think he's just generally not nice lol
No surprise here, now that you have gotten a taste of the "ugly" peeps you need to get a plan for the next taste. The "ugly" pop up unexpectedly, be ready for an intellectual controlled response... the "ugly" hate that 😊❤
Be Kind Be Prepared Be Calm Be Smart
Thankfully I've not had to deal with much ugliness in the craft fair world! Generally everyone is so incredibly wonderful so I was taken aback by the straight up ugliness of this. Also by the time this was taking place I hadn't eaten all day, I hadn't used the bathroom in like 10 hours and I still had to make it home and I didn't know how I was going to do it. I don't think I'm going to put myself in that situation again lol.
Oh my goodness Bailey, you totally did not deserve that. First of all, that lady should take some responsibility for her actions, but you know what, Karma is a bitch…..now for the event organizer, that was so uncalled for, he didn’t have to go pointing fingers and being so rude, does he not realize, if it wasn’t for vendors they wouldn’t have an event? Honestly, you should really place a complaint just so the more they receive them (which I’m sure you aren’t the only one, by the sound of it) they will have to start to reconsider the way they treat their vendors. I’m glad you’re okay, although it really sucks that you had to deal with that alone.

We feel the same way, my thoughts are that I am a vendor at the event, why would the random person who hit a vendor get more support than the vendor from the organizer? It was like they were teamed up against me no joke they were standing beside each other looking at me/scolding me like I was a child and it was so weird!!! They even had a little sidebar without me and I was just like ??? What is happening??? Yeah I'm still confused about the whole thing and then the organizer also told her she shouldn't do anything for me like bringing me the bins/helping replace them/etc.

Lol both people were on the struggle bus. I bought a lot of reflective tape to put on my bins and hitch because I am NOT going through this again lol
