In the 13th century, Icelandic writers made an effort to record their poetry, legends, and dynastic sagas. Some of these writers may have been lords, but most were probably Catholic monks, and many of the Sagas have been interpreted as Christian propaganda. While many of the Sagas are presented as historic biographies, they often mix in fictional elements: the appearance of magic, and for the interest of this video: Ghosts.

Hah! Reminiscent of the bedtime stories our Norwegian mom told us! Respect for the "old ways" being the core message.
You know, this is a far better way to exorcise something than what is traditionally presumed, if only everyone got a fair trail.
Also there's absolutely damn near no way in hel most of the stories we have weren't altered or edited to re-write them to at the very least translate well into christian english.
After hearing such a story back in those days, how could anyone fall asleep?? Not to mention - go out for a pee..
