Even being 28 (malaysian) now, I still remember being a kid watching on tv liang po po; and his movies being super relatable, there was no other shows or media during that era that could really portray our (sg/malaysian) culture -our way of speaking; our kiasu culture; our way of acting, and etc. Brings back so many fond memories... and I thank this man for that!

我心中，陈子谦导演是第一名，因为他有两部严肃题材的长剧情电影，非常优秀，是有深度的，12莲花里随便一句就是“没有爱，怎么会有痛。没有痛，怎么会有爱。”。梁智强导演片子拍的挺多的，biggest movie Director没错，但是近十年，没什么让我可以看一遍两遍三四遍台词分镜头都熟记在心的片子，梁导拍什么都像是在拍pua chu kang的MRT乘车安全文明宣传教育片，太注重搞笑了，笑过之后没有思考，对生活里一些现象展示出来之后也没有思考，感觉很多故事情节就像是赶飞机一样有人一直在推在催，就不让你停下来。当然，梁导的水平肯定远不止如此，无奈新马华语电影市场就这么大，一切都是在商业背景下的迫不得已。希望Jack Neo可以突破不断精进，祝愿有一天可以在有充足预算的情况下，打一场漂亮的富裕仗

After hearing jack neo's experience, i think it is understandable that he has to compromise to make his film funded. However, there is also another group of fans or singaporeans wanted to see something more than just comedy from local films. It would be great if jack neo can maintain his ideology of improving and challenging himself in his younger days, make something that's NOT comedy. Make something serious and still tell a good story.
