What can you place on the window or film to keep these edges down. I've tried placing something heavy over the film for a few days and hot air from a hair dryer

Clean the window edges better and it will stay down.

Can you use a Stanley knife to even the ends off

Does it matter what side you stick to the window? ...the side you peel the film off of, or the other side?

That makes sense but in so many of these type of videos, not just this company, they look like they peel the film off the side facing into the room and stick the other end to the windows 🤷‍♂️
