We are already planning stuff that we will do to her next winter, they are always a work in progress and you don’t have to do it all at once. Beautiful Boat :) Sailing A B Sea wintered in Kas Turkey and was also very positive about the workmanship they had done. Baz also has done a few videos about various anchorages along the Turkish coast, they may be useful. Fair Winds :)
Thanks Darrell, we have been in touch with S ABS and watched some of their stuff. We love Kas too and the marina is great but the town sort of goes to sleep in winter, cheers.
Thank you for your honesty as ever. Sharing your thoughts on whether a bigger boat will be or not be a better choice, certainly is a question many persons, like me, wonder all the time. Your videos during the Lucia time, not only inspired many dreamers to step up their plans, but also contend to a 40 or 42ft catamarans. Certainly, your jump from 40 to 45, brought back the nagging questions again. With this video, you both have elegantly, settled the issue of size. I can only imagine the extra work required to keep your beautiful Elba beautiful. I have a 32 footer and I have someone to keep it tip top, or else will fall into a pity state. My wife and I have a 35' Tri and it's enough for weekends and holidays then we go back to the house. I'm mid 50's and starting to slow down I guess. Your beautiful boat would scare the poop out of me I'm afraid. Congrats.
Yes I watch other sailing channels. But from Melbourne watching you guys we are 50 and 46 and I say to my wife that could be us 😁. Finally she has agreed to purchase in 3-5 years a 40 foot cat 🎉. Also the fuel bill on our 32 foot bay liner got me over the line. So thanks a lot guys love your channel

We went to a boat show here in Manly Brisbane, saw a lot of catamarans. But the FP Elba 45 was our utmost favourite. Very homely and inviting, just need to take the plunge. Enjoy your beautiful home and safe sailing. ⛵🐚🐟🌞

Beauty of a new boat. I look at it like a tent, if there's two get a four sleeper if there's four get a six. You wont be just two all the time and that extra space will come true on longer sails. Looking forward to you new adventures.

It’s been a crazy time, we have so many friends that have been separated from their boats for an extended period. We have been lucky but are so looking forward to meeting up with everyone once they can get back on the water, keep us posted ⛵️

I am hanging on every word you guys speak and I am impressed by the improvements you have made, I guess because I have a Elba 45 Hull no 79 coming out of the factorie around the end of May then havind some upgrades done at LaRochelle, then shipped to Melbourne Australia. Still not sure if we neede a bigger boat but I have bitten the bullet and at a fit 80 why not, but have to say my previous Lagoon 400 did us perfectly, so may live to regret the 'bigger boat' Thanks again I am a great fan of your channel keep up the excellent work, your technical feedback is so helpfull to all of us.

We just chartered a 4 cabin new Lucia 40 this past winter; lived on it for a week with two other couples plus crew. It was a full boat. The salon was cramped at times. And yes it was tough to keep the two curtains closed in the morning! But that trip makes this compare really relevant and interesting. Thanks!

@@LetsDanceSailing I think we are narrowing to 42-44' size, we saw a Helia 44 in one port and it had a visibly larger Stern than the Lucia, and your Elba is wider still. From what Ive seen on sailboat data online the Elba (and new Isla 40) should sail faster than the legacy F-P designs. Cheers!
@@robweiss748 looking at their polar diagrams they should, we agree. The proof will be when we get the chance to break free and take off but we are expecting her to be reasonably quick. Good luck with your pursuit.

Hi Wayne, thanks for touching base and glad you liked this Story. We absolutely loved the Lucia, the Isla is in our opinion a better version. There is a significant step from the 40 to the 45 and the Astrea is a good middle ground. But which ever way you go we are confident you will be happy with the FP brand. We love the Elba and couldn’t see ourselves in any other production brand boat to be honest, cheers.

We went to a boat show here in Manly Brisbane, saw a lot of catamarans. But the FP Elba 45 was our utmost favourite. Very homely and inviting, just need to take the plunge. Enjoy your beautiful home and safe sailing. ⛵🐚🐟🌞

Beauty of a new boat. I look at it like a tent, if there's two get a four sleeper if there's four get a six. You wont be just two all the time and that extra space will come true on longer sails. Looking forward to you new adventures.

I am hanging on every word you guys speak and I am impressed by the improvements you have made, I guess because I have a Elba 45 Hull no 79 coming out of the factorie around the end of May then havind some upgrades done at LaRochelle, then shipped to Melbourne Australia. Still not sure if we neede a bigger boat but I have bitten the bullet and at a fit 80 why not, but have to say my previous Lagoon 400 did us perfectly, so may live to regret the 'bigger boat' Thanks again I am a great fan of your channel keep up the excellent work, your technical feedback is so helpfull to all of us.

Fantastic Video! what you have done with the Elba is unbelievable, its been the most looked at boat in Yacht classic, don't think anyone has walked past it without stopping to have a photo next to it. We just chartered a 4 cabin new Lucia 40 this past winter; lived on it for a week with two other couples plus crew. It was a full boat. The salon was cramped at times. And yes it was tough to keep the two curtains closed in the morning! But that trip makes this compare really relevant and interesting. Thanks!

@@LetsDanceSailing I think we are narrowing to 42-44' size, we saw a Helia 44 in one port and it had a visibly larger Stern than the Lucia, and your Elba is wider still. From what Ive seen on sailboat data online the Elba (and new Isla 40) should sail faster than the legacy F-P designs. Cheers!

Hi Wayne, thanks for touching base and glad you liked this Story. We absolutely loved the Lucia, the Isla is in our opinion a better version. There is a significant step from the 40 to the 45 and the Astrea is a good middle ground. But which ever way you go we are confident you will be happy with the FP brand. We love the Elba and couldn’t see ourselves in any other production brand boat to be honest, cheers.
