E' stata incredibile e longeva la carriera di Riccardo. Ha attraversato praticamente tutti i più grandi salti tecnologici della F1, dai primi esperimenti aerodinamici, con i telai in alluminio rivettato, alle minigonne, ai motori turbo, ai primi telai in carbonio, fino alle sofisticazioni aerodinamiche, le sospensioni attive, i controlli elettronici, con i quali è andato forte sempre. Riccardo è un'enciclopedia dei motori.
I agree woth you. probabilmente pochi conoscono la storia sportiva di Riccardo. Un pilota velocissimo che ha avuto trovato sulla sua strada tre incroci che gli hanno cambiato il possibile futuro. L' incidente di Peterson a Monza , dove i "senatori" soprattutto Hunt lo incolparono ingiustamente perchè era un pilota "scomodo" per loro. Le promesse della ferrari due anni dopo che gli fecero perdere contratti importanti e infine la convivenza in un team vincente ( williams ) con un team inglese e un pilota "cocco di mamma" inglese ( Mansell). Non come la Ferrari che non ha mai difeso e valorizzato i piloti Italiani ( dopo Bandini ). Chiedete a Nannini.......
gambe hai ragione, ma la colpa è anche di scelte sbagliate da Patrese. Nel 1978 Patrese ebbe la possibilità di andare alla Brabham, ma lui rifiutò per restare alla Arrows. Così la Brabham prese Nelson Piquet che divenne campione del mondo. Quando Patrese finalmente arrivò alla Brabham, ormai era tardi, Nelson era il numero 1 e correndo per la Brabham da anni, conosceva molto meglio la squadra. Logico che abbia ottenuto risultati migliori. Quanto alla Williams hai ragione Mansell, in quanto inglese, era il numero 1. Quando fu ingaggiato Prost, Riccardo capì che sarebbe stano nuovamente il numero 2 e se ne andò.

Unfortunately, due to his wrong choices, not signing for Brabham in 1978 (which hired a certain Nelson Piquet) to stay at Arrows, or because Ferrari, after having made him sign a pre contract, didn't hire him, he never managed to fight to become world champion. When it came to competitive teams Brabham and Williams, it was established that it would be number 2 behind Piquet and Mansell. Too bad, it would have been very interesting to see Mansell and Patrese with the same chances and so see a duel between Mansell and Patrese to become 1992 world champion.
cameras today are way better than they used to be. but the videos are way better in the old days. lov the angles how they filmed and i miss this. today everything is filmed from the front to se the advertisment. fuck that. all the charm is gone. this is very nice video. i wanna go back in time
Bravo Riccardo!! He was well faster that any of his teamates in Arrows, he was ahead of Piquet in most of the 82' races, he started ahead of Cheever in most of the races back in 84-85 with Alfa Romeo, he was always the fastest driver in Brabham back in 86-87, he was fastest than Thierry Boutsen back in 1989 with Williams, and he outqualified Mansell in the first part of 1991 with Williams. Actually he started more races ahead of Nigel that year (4 poles with 3 in-a-row).

Só para constar tenho a cópia do casco de Patrese o qual sempre fui fã aprendi a gostar dele já em 81 quando ele ganhou aquela corrida maluca de Mônaco mesmo sendo Brasileiro é tendo pilotos como Piquet é Sena, Patrese sempre foi aquele por quem torci, lembro do acidente que vitimizou Ricardo Pallete é pelos nomes dos dois sempre muito parecidos eu chorava achando que era Patrese ótimo piloto, poderia ter tido melhor sorte na F1 mais se levarmos em consideração por tudo que passou, principalmente após ser injustamente culpado por muitos como responsável pela morte de Rony Peterson, principalmente pelo falastrão do James hanter o qual só foi campeão porque Laura se acidentou bem como abandonou a corrida sendo essa que valia o titulo em Suzuka acabou sendo campeão, mais voltando em Patrese foi sem duvida o melhor piloto italiano da geração 80 até os dias atuais Valeu Patrese

Martin Brundle would have been so much better at Benetton in 1993. Patrese should have called it a day or stayed at Williams this season. It was a poor way for him to go out.
In 1993, Williams hired Alain Prost, who, like Mansell the previous year, would be driver nr 1 and therefore Patrese would be number 2 again. It would have made sense to stay at Williams only if instead of Prost, would arrive Damon Hill . So Patrese, having more experience, would have been the number 1 driver. And who knows, perhaps he would have become the 1993 world champion. Patrese chose to go to Benetton, which however favored a talented young driver who promised very well, Michael Schumacher. Evidently the karma of Patrese is to be in number 2.
E' stata incredibile e longeva la carriera di Riccardo.
