It really depends on the phone too. WIth mine - when using a case it was not well. Without the case it was a perfect fit (Oneplus 8 Pro)

Stabilization for most gimbals is similar. It's the user experience that really matters.
I much prefer these clamps over the magnetic things on the DJI OM4/5

Yeah, you need a camera-plate - and they are rather cheap. Got mine from banggood
I use to have the original Feiyu-Tech Vlog Pocket and unfortunately, i had to sell it because it was not so smooth. It always acts like in sport mode - it reacts very fast, for example when i want to turn the smartphone in another direction or make a rotation walking around somebody. As i see it's not a case for the second version?
That one is definitely smoother. Pretty happy with the way it performs

At 5:59 , does it means we can use the shutter button without using the feiyu app? The Hohem iSteady X cannot do this? Im confuse for choosing between VP2 or iSteadyX.
That's correct, yes. Doesn't seem to work with all smartphones though.
I can actually do that with iSteadyX, just connect it via phone bluetooth (not through the app)... I'm using android
Hi! How many hours do you need to charge it before usage? I've bought it recently and trying to understand. Does it always give those sounds after a few hours of usage?
Actually, not a few hours of usage. I charged it for about 2 hours and it hasn't got charged yet. And it gives short sounds every second. What could it be? Is my gimbal ok? Or should I return it, I wonder? Can you give some clues of why it cannot get charged and work poperly after 2 hours of charge?
If it has this beep it might indicate low battery level. Usually charging takes 1-2 hours. Take it slow, go through the user guide and also try the smartphone app.

Yes, you can use the gimbal without the app and you can change the modes without using the app - which is pretty useful.
Yes you can.I also don't use the app.The application wants my email, I don't know why.
Very good review...much more understandable than most. I have the original vlog pocket model, and I have downloaded the app 3 times, and tried to use it in an iPhone 6+, an iphone 8+ and an LG G40... And none of them allow the tracking to function. There is no tracking icon visible on any of them.
I'm leary of buying another feiyutech product for that reason, although you said it works on your hardware. I'm happy for you that it did. I just use mine as a manual gimbal, even though I didn't get what I paid for.
I actually had issues with the tracking with the initial firmware (which was in beta mode when I got the gimbal). After the firmware update it worked fine, and could be that also an app update has contributed.
YOu can try simply selecting area on the screen and see if that will help.

The ability to shoot while the gimbal goes in a circle like watch with arms. A very wedding-like effect 🙃

Why does the Fieyu app ask for your phone and media contacts before you can use there app?
That's a good question. Better deny access.
The phone media is needed to allow recording. But the contacts...

@@TechMishka Hi bro. Do you have to use the feiyutech app in order to use the functions of the gimbal? Or can I still use the joystick, pan, tilt and tilt lock and all the recording buttons on the gimbal without using the software/app? Thanks bro
Seems as a great performer. But is it truly pocket-able? And are there any innovations? Gimbals became boring! I want to have gimbal that is similar in shape for a camera. A handle have to be on the right side, not on the bottom. It must have physical control for zoom and ability to change other options of shooting (exposure, panorama and so on). What is your prior demands for gimbals, Micheal?
Yeah, that all sounds nice, and sounds like a ton of work for the app-developers.
The OM4 is very interesting and while it doesn't seem to address all of these criteria - the magnetic mount is a break-through and the best idea that gimbal makers have come up with. Will likely be ready with the video in 2-3 weeks and so far the stabilization performance from its side is quite good.
As for the Vlog Pocket 2 - definitely nice. But is that enough...
There is a gimbal that pretty much meet all of your requirements ( or very close to those ) , but its quite expensive at $300 and discontinued so it maybe a little hard to find: movi cinema robot by moment. It is pretty much the ONLY phone gimbal that let you control the X-axis by handling .
What about ultra wide angle lens... motor visible in footage?
