I have googled and watched multiple "how to" videos on this process for changing the dash speakers on a JKU and your video was by FAR the most helpful. Thanks for putting this together. I just completed putting some Kickers in the front and Polk Audios in the sound bar. Your process made it way easier than what the Crutchfield directions called for (which is essentially full-on dash removal).

Just finished the kicker upgrade for 2017 JK. Video was a godsend. Sound bar was a breeze, fronts were a a pain.Used a small amount of polyfill. Night and Day difference

just installed front speakers in my 2015 sahara. This was the easiest and best instruction. Under an hour for me and way faster than any other video i've watched. Going to look for a radio install you've done now

This was a crazy easy install. I saw people saying this was taking over 2 hours to do the front speakers, I got the driver side speaker replaced in about 15 mins. Easy breazy.

Really appriciate the video. I'm about to change my own speakers and this was by far the best walkthrough I've come across. Like you said, all the other instructions want to make it sound more difficult than it has to be. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this Garry, initially i did not think this was the way to go you were correct as the lower dash is very flexible. After watching another guy disassemble his entire dash I tried your approach. Much success! The speakers I installed did not require the old speakers to be modified and used as brackets thankfully.

Thanks for doing the video Garry. I just watched about 10 of these including a dude that took his entire dash apart, instrument panel and all just to replace these speakers. I wasn't even going to try this until I saw your video. I'm starting with the sound bar. If that goes well I'll attack the front. :)

Gary, just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. On my last Jeep, s 2008 Unlimited, I followed the instructions from Crutchfield and it was a bear for someone with a bad back. I transferred the Polks I had in the sound bar to my new 2013 but left the speakers I had installed in the front alone. For Christmas my wife has gotten me an Insane Audio GPS Nav. and Entertainment Center so I bought some MTX 50 watt RMS speakers for the front and am so glad I came across your video. It must be 10 times easier than the Crutchfield method so I'm excited to get the new Head Unit and speakers installed. Thanks from a disabled Vet for making my life MUCH easier!

Thank you young man for a posting this video, I purchased a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in February and just upgraded the head unit to a factory Mopar RPZ touch screen with a 30 gig hard drive that I found on ebay new. After installing the head unit I put some of my CD's into the hard drive and listened to them. Boy was I disappointed, sounded terrible, I bought two Mopar Kicker speakers off of Amazon and put them in the sound bar. Still sounded bad, most of the music comes out of the front speakers, and depending what CD song I was listening to nothing helped, Most of my music is 50's, 60's and 70's so the CD's were probably part of the bad sound, anyway I bought two more Mopar Kicker speakers for the front and they are being delivered today., I followed your instructions and removed the two front speakers, it was kind of a chore, being 60 years old my eyes don't see as good as they used to and my fingers are not as flexible as they used to be, but I got them out. Instead of waiting for the FedEx guy to show up today I had a brain storm and just removed the rear ones as it was so easy and put those in the front and put it all back together.. I tested them as you suggested and they sound so munch better than those cheap stock speakers, I cant wait for the FedEx guy to show up so I can put in the rears again and really rock and roll!!
Thank you again for posting this, knowing me I probably would have removed the dashboard and engine to get them out...

Gary, Great job! I have a 2014 also and was hesitant to change out speakers. It seems every model year is a bit different. One suggestion would be to show more detail on the following: 1. How you finagled the speakers out and back in on both sides. 2. How much and where does poly fill go? A lot of us are novices and crave details that the average car guru assumes everyone knows. Don't be afraid to take the time to be more thorough. Those who already "get it" will fast forward. Those, like me, who need the minutia will play and replay until we "get it". All in all, I think I will be successful!
Just watched the sound bar install. Bravo! Thanks again.

I literally just got finished doing this upgrade today. Replaced both speakers and had one with pollyfill and one without and the one without sounded way better? I tried multiple different combinations with pollyfill and sound deadening soundskin. I ended up not using either. Sound was much better without anything.

Looks easier your way than some other dudes!! I've got sound bar upgrades installed, easy! Will attempt dash in next few days. QUESTION!! Will too much poly fil decrease impact of the speakers? My kicker upgrade sound bar speakers in my 16 JKU aren't that much better except for more bass. I want to be fair on my review. Should I unbutton everything and remove some stuffing, since I did kinda cram it in. Is it worth going to the trouble?
