Favorite part of this movie is when Kobe says how he asked his former teammate, Ronny Turiaf, to teach him some french to throw Tony off his game. The camera crew asked if he could repeat some of it. Kobe laughed saying there was no way he could say that out loud.

People just casually throw out these "underrated" statements without providing a scintilla of evidence or context. Tony was just inducted into the Hall of Fame so I would say he was rated pretty highly. If he is underrated, where should he be rated?

    • @JonathanWoodall

The reason why Tony Parker isn't in the discussion of all-time great point guards is because Tony isn't culturally relevant. You won't find him in rap videos or hanging around other black celebrities for clout. In other words, he does not have the image that Hollywood wants to present before the youth for influence. He's also probably religious and holds to a sense of godly morality.
But people like Tony are mature and really don't care about being recognized, a accepted or embraced. He's very confident in who he was in the league and doesn't need validation. And to be even more honest, today's players probably respect him and have a relationship with him that is not publicized. He's good.

Do u rewrite history? Or live on Mars? The lakers beat them in 2001, 2002, 2004. The spurs lone win was in 2003 when Shaq waited until training camp to have surgery so how did the spurs end Shaq and Kobe? You’re not making sense

well... just one more championship... but not really? ... kobe only lost one series to tony and in 2003 it was more of a tim duncan led team. overall kobe won 4 out of 6 vs san antonio. the only other loss being in 1999 when kobe wasn't a superstar yet. and that 2003 series belonged to the lakers if not for robert horry blowing the game winner and missing all 20 three point attempts that series

Tony’s the reason he never won more rings? 2003 I guess. 2004 the lakers beat the spurs and the lakers had no shot winning in 2005,2006, or 2007. And they had no shot winning from 2011-2016 when Kobe retired

Point guards control the offense. So without TP orchestrating the offense, would be a harder time for Duncan to receive the ball down low & complete plays.
