I know right? Especially the one guy with his head cocked sideways and his mouth a little open. It definitely looked like they didnt care atall about what he was saying.

Well articulated? Definitely. Meaningful? Definitely not. Jelly rolls collective content is literally pro addiction. Talking about how sad it is for his ex yet he makes music that glorifies and exploits addiction on a national level…? Yeah he seems so sad about it. I’ve lost family and friends to addiction as well, and there’s no amount of money that I would accept to make album’s glorifying the same addictions…it’s called selling your soul and causing gods children to stumble and if he’s so smart then he’s knowingly come to that crossroad and decided which path to take.
@@1rko542good point! I hope he sees your post.
@1rko542 Who are you to decide what is meaningful and what isn’t? If you think that talking about addiction is the same as glorifying it or exploiting it, you are part of the overall problem because sweeping it under the rug and forgetting about it is not going to get us out of this mess that we are in. You can choose a different path but that doesn’t mean you completely erase and forget about the destructive one that you were initially on. That’s not how it works and that’s certainly not how “God’s children” are going to make it out of all this alive. We are losing lives every 11 minutes so I think it’s time that somebody start talking and start talking LOUDLY. Thank you Jelly Roll!

What is he suggesting they do to help put an end to this? Isn't the bulk of this problem coming from the cartels throwing fentanyl in just about every thing they send over here now?
Off topic I know, but
personally, I think the good people of Mexico need to rise up and fight back against those cartels to take their country back. Supposedly they're now killing people's familiy members that don't pay their "protection fees". I don't know what the answer is, just wondering if anyone knew what they're hoping to get done?

Sorry for your loss
Amen, condolences for your family's loss.
I really am glad to see someone is truly taking the fight to drugs and with such a powerful message! Jelly Roll you said something that really hit home for me when you said "sometimes it starts from an accident and having to use prescribed narcotics and then one thing leads to another" my uncle underwent double hip surgery because he drank a lot when I was growing up, and he ended up having to take prescription narcotic pills to help ease his pain and ultimately became dependent on them, and when that didn't satisfy him he decided to look for the hard drugs... he went from being a man I knew and loved to being a complete stranger, the last thing I heard about him was he got him and my other uncle hooked onto meth, and God only knows if he made his way to fentanyl, I don't know how his well-being is anymore, and I pray that he is still alive and I hope that he finds a way to kick these drugs. You have a very strong and incredible message, you are one of my favorite artists that I listen to on the daily, and I also want to say you are my personal hero! I believe in your message, and I stand behind you every step of the way on taking to taking the fight not only to fentanyl, but to every drug out there that is robbing us of our loved ones!
Wow thank you for speaking up.
“Because it’s 190 drug addicts, we don’t feel that way.” Got me right in the gut. I used to work with people with SUD, and it’s truly heartbreaking to hear their stories and backgrounds, mostly related to abusive backgrounds. Addiction is a disease, it’s not because people are “weak.”
Edit:// Yall, addiction of all kinda runs in my family, as well as having personal experience. My father is a crippling alcoholic and I’ve been through the wringer. Every expert tells me that these afflictions are a disease. You are not weak if you are an addict.
i am a former addict and that line really got me. it couldn't be described any better and really makes people confront their lack of empathy for addicts. we are human beings.
Formerly addicted to /smoking/ percs. Quit cold turkey then got on methadone, then dropped by 10mg a week. (Average is only 2.) therapist was called to ask me if I’m self sabotaging or suicidal; I let it be known I feel the withdrawals. I wake up suffering. Screaming in pain. Then I get my medicine and it does enough to barely take the pain away. But I’m going to continue doing it because I refuse to be an addict. I was addicted for 4 months. Smoking $80 worth of pills a day (which actually isn’t that much) I was on methadone for 3 months; before becoming addiction free.
My point? It is 100% because you’re weak. I’m not saying you’re not CAPABLE. I am saying you’re giving yourself EXCUSES. I would wake up throwing my guts up, sweating and sh**ting myself without having a fix. I wouldn’t be able to move or function. I would cry actual tears from the pain. And I still prevailed. Addiction is a mindset. It’s a mentality. And you giving yourself a reason to slack makes you weak. Because I dealt with ALL of this; while being HOMELESS. Sleeping on concrete. In bushes. No friends. No family. No support. Other than my own WILL to overcome. So I’m living proof that addiction isn’t impossible to overcome; despite ANY reason you give yourself. And that you not being able to overcome is because you’re not strong. Not saying you can’t BECOME strong; but as of this moment you are NOT. You are weak. And you allow yourself to continue being weak by telling yourself “it’s a sickness” rather than admitting you’re unable to handle what’s required for you to become better.
Some people are weak addicts, some people actually have trauma, you need to determine who is who and who really wants help.
I'm a former addict, and addiction is not a disease. It's difficult to contend with, sure. It's less easily reversed than some actual diseases, but it is not a disease. Calling it a disease so adamantly only serves to remove a nebulous amount of personal responsibility from the person it controls; and, as a psychologist, I can tell you that no progress is made without personal accountability. Blaming everything on exterior factors or scapegoating a pretend disease will not allow the patient to grow and form good habits and become well adjusted. Scapegoating will only serve to enable them to varying degrees. Sure, some people recover even with the mentality that addiction is a disease, but only in spite of such an attitude: not because of it.
@mavisrecon7948 literally the reason im sober isnt because of my years of therapy, its because i wanted to make the change. Thanks for educating fools who call it a disease.

As a recovering addict, who has lost so many friends this really hit me hard!! 7 years clean now, 18 years in active addiction.
God bless!!!
I have been seen it first hand, With a girlfriends son..... Stay strong..$
7 years clean is a huge accomplishment. I hope you are proud of yourself because that is such a hard cycle to break, but you did it. I hope you've heard this from others as well, but I'm damn proud of you man.
Praying for you 🙏 ❤️
I hope that'll be be me one day before I kill myself from the unimaginable stress it causes me every fucking day.
My wife and I are about to make the jump after over a decade of opiate use. We're so scared but I'm hoping we can get through this though
Thank you do much for speaking out on behalf of the ones we lost . I come from a family of addiction and let me say it has been hard to watch them fight .
Powerful statement,Thank u Jason, ❤. I also luv your song church. ,,🙂
He moved me to tears. Thank you Jelly for being a voice for all of us and for the ones who lost the fight.

Same.
Incentivizing drug addiction isn't the answer by any means....
Jelly is wrong... We need our border closed and secure and illegal drug flow will stop DRAMATICALLY. Making "safe spaces" for junkies to get high and opening Suboxone/methadone clinics is NOT the answer. I'll tell you that from experience so listen to me dammit.
lol people been saying that for years nothing new here
More articulate than all of our options for presidency

that's useless, that's not why presidents are elected for.
@@AYYYEEEEYOOOwho cares what they are ready for look at the crap the world is dealing with we need a real man as president and they would never allow it
Agreed. All the others are trying to sound professional which I can understand to a certain point but there is just something that hits more close to home and makes you feel like they're not bullshiting when they are straight up and to thr point

❤thank u jelly u are amazing
This is soooo awesome! Go Jelly Roll! Keep up the great work! What a great speaker. Thank you.
As an ex addict who has just hit 5 years of sobriety and someone who survived many fentanyl overdoses, this brought me to tears.
Thanks Jelly Roll.
💯💪
Great job man, keep it goin
You can survive a fent OD? You might be one of the luckiest people alive.
I like how you worded that I am a ex addict as well
My Brother my people roll whit you,🔥🔥🔥🔥
@realhebplus1871 yes there are a few ways to get an OD victim breathing again. Narcan, which reverses the effects of opioids, is the most common. I have OD on fentanyl 7 times and am only here because of narcan.
As a man who is 22 months clean this gave me goose bumps, we need more men like this to speak loud and proud to help make change happen
Ngl people not caring makes me want to just OD on meth but maybe they may care, just don't show it. In my life currently it feels and seems so lonely and I can't stand it anymore.
Congratulations on your sobriety! It’s an amazing personal accomplishment and I hope you are proud of yourself ❤
It was wild. I have never heard anything this powerful. I've been struggling with alcohol for a while. Tomorrow I'm going in on my own to get clean.
Be well, you're never ever alone.
@jayrod7389 that's awesome. We really should support one another like this regardless . Thank you for your kind words. We all got this if we got one another.
@@jayrod7389 I understand that well too. There are different struggles for everyone but the struggle remains the same just different essence.
We spend way to much time not understanding and putting others down for their issues. I see it everywhere.
I recently made a friend with Schizophrenia. I find people like this very unique and special with hearts that need care.
Anyway Their family treats them bad. This person has nobody.
I really do not believe their family understands their condition or they are either very stressed.
I won't give up on them because I see their potential. We need to support one another and be positive.
I can not stand when people put others down for issues they have no idea about.
Support and care are what we need as a society. True compassion and empathy without politics
Thank you Jason
Wow what a beautiful testimony. That really touched me.
I have NEVER, once, in my life, commented on a CZcams video but, Cheers to you, Jelly Roll. That was a great gesture. Well written, well rehearsed and selfless. As you stated, with your past and not having the privilage of casting your vote, you stood before them and spoke with conviction on something that means a great deal to you. Well done, sir!
Yeah, but what about Thomas and Nick?
My brother died of an overdose last year.... I always felt like there was nothing I could have done to help him. Thank you Jelly Roll for having the voice for those of us who are screaming in silence ❤
I’m so sorry bro. Praying for you. Just keep your head up.
keep your head up, time heals everything trust me, one day you will see and i pray for you
God bless you, itll get better!
I’m so sorry for your loss. Don’t take offense but saying a silent prayer for you

The father of my daughters died last October due to a fentanyl overdose he was in a coma for 4 days before he passed it was only his 2nd time doing the drug. A lot of people need to understand how absolutely dangerous this substance is. I appreciate Jelly bringing this to light.❤
So deeply sorry for your loss :( my nieces older sister died of this horrific drug . It needs to stop 😢
The people who put fentanyl in their drugs and then distribute it are truly disgusting
Best wishes to you and your family !!
It is by design !! America loves poisoning themselves !!

Right? Its so refreshing to follow an artist who really and truly is an amazing soul on this planet. no ill intent within him. Imagine his inner strength. To leave a life of addiction and dealing especially these days and come out 1, a functioning human and 2, Carry as much light as you did before life dragged you down, Its a lot. Its too easy to get high and live in another world. He actively fights against it still to this day. Amazing. That's power.

As a recovering alcoholic (4 years), this speech made me cry. Addiction is nearly impossible to overcome. Recovery is a life-long battle and I weep for those stuck in the vicious cycle of addiction.
You can do it. You're worth loving yourself ❤
Can you tell me how your alcoholism started and what your thoughts were at the time? How much were you driking in the beginning and did you think you would become am alcoholic?
How did you start your recovery? Any words of wisdom? Thanks

We need more real people standing up and speaking out like this. I’m so glad that he was able to hopefully make a difference. ❤
As a recovering addict myself we have to Vote to keep the borders closed. We know as recovering addicts. The cartels are using the people to ship their drugs through. We need to close it down no matter what. Or more of us will die
He wasn’t
Real people.....
Yes the over weight drug addict. He condones drug use in half his videos but for some reason he's a martyr now wow what a joke.
I refuse to take a moralistic message from someone that took advantage of people to financially make gains off the people he now tries to protect. Addiction can be stopped by educating people to say no in the first place. It needs to end before it begins, not after. We as society need to stop glorifying drugs and crime. Its pretty simple. While big corporations have taken advantage of people, the military has taken advantage of people, we can end the cycle here and now. There are better laws and understanding of drug use. There is no excuse for recreational drug use - it has consequences and people today who willingly and knowing decide to roll the dice on street drugs need to be held accountable for their own actions. If you take illicit drugs, you are choosing to roll the dice on addiction.
You can't judge a book by it's cover. Well spoken Jelly Roll. This could not of been addressed more eloquently.
Never more eloquently spoken. ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻
It is heart wrenching -
