Darksiders 2 was hands down my most underrated, underappreciated, under the radar, under everything game of the last gen. I'm really hoping that they go back to the open world style that it had.
I'm downloading it now, put it off for a long while. Hope you're right! :)

0:51 I don't know why, but that little mock throat clearing adds so much. You can easily tell that Strife is hardly ever serious and just likes to shoot things.
But it's a different kind of mock than Death, too. Death mocks by refusing to block because it's beneath him (except that one time). Strife feels more... human. Which makes sense, given what we learned in 3.

Really hard not to get hyped for a game when the trailers are this badass.
For all those wondering, from what intel I have found on this game. This is a prequel to the entire series and will explain how Strife goes from the snarky fast mouth we see here to the insightful fighter that we witnessed in Darksiders 3. So there does appear to be hope for a Darksiders 4 explaining how Strife came to be where he is or perhaps even what happened to him after the siege of Haven. Would be interesting to see a more ranged/modern weapon take on the weaponry with Darksiders since Strife seems to be the gunslinger of the four. Also really want to have time with Strife's horse since Rampage was tragically taken from Fury (on a side note who exactly killed Rampage?).

But snarky deadpool like strife is the best. I don't want a miyagi type horseman.
Also gluttony just straight up ate Rampage later in the game.
What I don't get is why is this releasing in 2020 February, they said 2019 and pushed it back quite a lot. Also pc and stadia get this in december!

I feel like they're testing how the game works on this format. Then make the final installment 4 player with a more third person aspect like in between this and the originals.
i feel this was a cheaper and quicker way to work out Strife's game mechanics. I believe he'll get his 3rd person game. Probably play like Warframe.

Strife is problematic. He's a shooter guy in a hack&slash series. But I don't think that making games in IP outside of main series is a bad idea. Hopefully we'll have a game about human survivors too... oh, wait, that's Remnant: From The Ashes, isn't it?

You right. I knew war and death were the youngest and oldest respectfully, I couldn't remember where Strife and Fury placed at.
I think Strife hides a lot of seriousness behind sarcasm and wit. He is also probably the most questioning of the 4. I think we see this somewhat in Darksiders 3.

They will do a game explaining how strife ended up in earth helping ulthane and how he ended up giving his pistols to the makers to help war and death.
This a prequel. They still need to show how strife changed from a goofball to a wise horseman.
i actually prefer this version of strife than the one voiced in darksiders 3. it adds a little more character to the group with death's sarcasm, war's seriousness and fury's sadistic attitude.

When he said, "Oh, and i'm not alone," i thought for sure i was gona see Death and Fury pope in behind them. MAN i hope a proper Darksiders 4 will have all playable horsemen but be Strifes game
I'd much prefer 4 being just strife, so they all get a solo game and then getting a 5th where you swap between the four of them throughout the game. But that may be too optimistic

my idea for a proper darksiders five would be ideally, picking up after the first Darksiders when they all show up, the horsemen are like wtf is going on. War's like "we was played by the chard coucil, the other are like yea, makes since. they then go on a mission of doing things and frighting things and saving humanity and other stuff

What Sense would it make to make only 4 Games with 4 Horseman but only 1 of them not having his own Game and Goal to achive and in his supposed to be Game he plays only 1/4 of said Game? Ironically of the 4 he was the most rebellious and hated that Death was the leader he was the problem child of the group along with War.
War and Fury, yeah, but Death wasn't so dead serious for a guy who is supposed to be mega edgy.

@@TheWarchiefZekeJaeger Death was never Edgy, he's always had a dry wit but he hides it by typically being the responsible one of the group as the leader. He respects the Council but that's about all he respects, well his brothers and sister too.

After finishing this one, I can clearly say this was my favorite installment of Darksiders series so far only just a little bit ahead of the Darksiders 2.
The action was great, playing as Strife was... umm... greatly designed and fun to play as.
Bosses are great, story is great, story build up is great, background stuff are great. They are heavily loyal to the original games. They stick stable with the abilities and the arsenal horsemen have.
This is from my perspective is a main game because it offers more than just an isometric game.
What makes this game great? Dialogues and gameplay of course. Replayability is very likely but you also get to have a crucible mode of its own version which is great. Normally we always have one horsemen at the ready. But now we can see the brotherhood between the two. And their development is great throughout. Their dialogues are fun to listen, their interactions are very well designed.
Only level 11 and 12 platform things are annoying. Other than that every platform stuff are just sensical and well fitted.
Plus this game is not just a filler, it connects the dots and fills the events that can explain which things triggered the things that happened in Darksiders 1.
It also gives us a background story of the seals and the deals of the council.
Then this game explains how War was familiar with Vulgrim and Samael and was not alien to the things they do in Darksiders 1.
War: Serious serious
Death: Snarky serious
Fury: Psycho serious
Strife: *_SMOKIN' SEXY STYLE!_*
So, they made Strife's personality into Dante

Looks like the art style is mimicking diablo 3. They tried to make demons but they come off looking like goofy side characters from a kids CG movie. How is that big demon not Azmodan?

It’s a spin off and the game is mimicking the character’s more comedic style. It’s not so bad, really.

That was great and hilarious. I hope Strife actually has some funny dialogue in-game. If they ever make a "proper" game dedicated to him, I definitely hope he has this personality.

Seeing this trailer for the first time last night (playing the game for the first time) put a huge smile on my face, reminded me of the time Cayde-6 fought the Scorn in the Forsaken cutscene

Phil Lamar. He was Hemes from Futurama, and about a billion others. Also he voices Vulgrim.
The VA who did Strife is Phil LaMar. It's likely that he'll voice in this game too.
